Amanda POV
today was the Qing ming festival and I know Gael loved hisiting his father today,
I don't know if he will love another companion, as my dad has always been the one accompanying him there,
since he's going by himself today I wanted to be there for him,
I put on a yellow long flare dress and a black cover shoes, I wanted to look casual so I wore a light makeup and didn't care to put on any jewelry,
"oh hey Gael," I said stopping him from going any further to the door,
"I hope you don't mind if I follow you to visit your dad's grave, I asked him feeling nervous, some part of me regretted asking him now,
" It's okay," he told me shrugging his shoulders which helped me feel more relaxed,
"I thought that since my dad wasn't joining you today, maybe I could be a good alternate, good thing you said yes cause I was starting to get nervous since I didn't inform you on time, I told him as we both laughed,
" There is nothing to be nervous about, like seriously, I'm glad you cared to come with me," he told me, giving me the warmest smile I've ever seen which gave me the eagerness to touch him as I reached towards one of his hands giving him a light pat at the back of his palm,
"It's okay, what are friends for," I said rolling my eyes and enjoying the feel of his palm around mine,
he finally remove his palm from mine, making mine feel so empty,
"you've had a change of mind," he asked after noticing I was still standing in the position he left me while he had already reached the door,
"ohhh, I muttered snapping back to myself as I hurriedly rush towards him,
" Sorry," I muttered when I was finally near him,
"it okay," he said pointing outside the door which he had opened,
"thank you," I said rushing out,
"no problem," he answered before shutting the door as we walked towards the car, he also did the same thing entering the car last before the driver zoomed off.
we first of all, bought some fresh flowers on the way before we reached the cemetery,
this was the first time I'd ever been to a cemetery and it was quite different from what I had thought and seen in movies, throughout the time when I was in the car I couldn't help but imagine some spooky things like evil hawks with deep black eyes sitting on top each headstone, or dried leaves all over the area with the wind blowing weirdly from a different angle, but I found out that it was just fine, it was a very calm and sterile, the wind was also blowing normal with no weird hawk sitting on each headstone, although I still saw black birds which almost made me freak out, Gael must have noticed how frighten I was as him reach out to one of my hands, holding and directing me to his father's headstone,
we placed the flowers we had bought on the way on his father's headstone before he knelt down to talk to his father while I stand to wait for him,
he was taking a while though, but I didn't let it bother me, I'll stand a whole day if it was him, I'm waiting for, since I felt less busy and I didn't want to leave his side because I considered it rude so I just let myself get fascinated at other death people headstones, not until I noticed a woman from afar dressed in black, it seems like she came to visit her lost love until she came towards us and was smiling at Gael, she looked like someone going to her fifties and I felt maybe she was an aunt or someone who just remembered him somewhere,
"Good afternoon ma'am," I greeted which drew Gael's attention as he looked back to see who it was,
His face was filled with shock and anger, I've actually never seen him like that before which made me start to wonder who the woman was, the only conclusion in my mind was that she could probably be his mother, that was the only woman I felt could make him this angry, especially after what he told me about his mother,
I carefully inspected Gael and the woman's faces, which actually look quite similar, the color of their eyes and hair looked quite similar, except Gael looked more like his father than her,
"Oh Gael I knew you would be here, I've been looking everywhere for you until I heard you are In that you were living with Mr. Matthew, could you believe that skunk didn't me to see you," she said moving closer to Gael who pushed her away, I was glad he did that, the nerve of her daring to call my father a skunk when she is the real skunk,
"don't you ever in your life dream of coming close to me or calling Mr. Matthew a skunk when you are far more worse than that,"
"what evil lies has that man been feeding you for you to push your own mother so hard," she said faking a cry which made me roll my eyes wondering how this kind of people managed to exist,
"why would I have to believe what people said, when I saw it with my own two eyes, how you walk out of the door with another man, one after my dad's burial, you couldn't even wait for a month to arrive, you left me, selling everything dad ever kept for me including the house you left me Inside, you still have the audacity to call yourself a mother in front of me," Gael said turning round to clean the tears that fell out of his eyes, I couldn't stand to see him like this, it made me sad that the useless woman wasn't feeling remorse,
it's okay, we can go if you want," I tried to console him rubbing his shoulder, I was glad he gave me a nod of approval, as I lead him towards the exit,
"Gael, please hear me out," the woman shouted, making Gael more angry than before, I had to use every power in me to stop him from going to her and end up doing what he might regret later,
"don't you ever in your life call my name again, you hear that," he yelled making the woman scared, before we rush out of the cemetery.
