"About my offer...when will it start?" Vera asked curiously. She needed a positive feedback at least to prove that her own way could work than the suicidal mission on ground.
"Kid..didn't you hear all I just said." Scott asked with a frown and a cold gaze.
"Signing up with devil is like a life contract that even you will be dying to leave at the very particular moment you set your foot in it..." He paused and leaned even closer.
"The innocent fears the king of hell, and you are just embracing the queen of heaven thinking you are fit into devil's kingdom..."
"My world is different from the place you leave in, and you can't even survive a day in there..."
"Then take me to it..." She begged, sitting on her chair.
"Let me prove you wrong that I can survive...it is just a month or two contract and after that I will leave. I am not willing to stay there forever" Vera said with no intension on giving up. He stared at her in silence, contemplating on her offer. After what seems like a grave yard silence, he spoke.
"Who sent you?" DEG! Her heart skipped really hard wondering how he found out. Her face gave a shocked reaction, before turning back to normal. She opened her mouth to speak but no word came out. It was as if her brain was shut down completely and can't function well. Seeing her reaction, he was amused.
"It is obvious you have no intension of staying if not for someone to offer you something that they can get in return kid" Scott spoke in a calm but cold manner.
"Mere looking at you, I can't see the reason why you would become volunteer, who would make a huge feast for a beast" scott said, leaning backwards while swindling his chair sideways.
"What did they offer you?" Scott asked in suspicion.
Breathing heavily, she spoke "N-nothing, I mean...n-nobody, I am here willingly." Vera struggled, tying to come up with something.
"Miss Vera Fetcher" His deep voice quickened calmly, looking at the woman who seemed lost in another dimension.
He leaned forward "Go home and think about what you are doing and what you are about to do" He ended picking up a document from its stack.
"You have just two months left and yet you are turning down my offer" vera started with a heavy heart. She don't understand why she felt this way or maybe not standing on the fact that she won't see him, killed her really bad and made her heart weep in pain. It was as if a dagger pierced into her inner soul and made her emotional unstable.
"You are looking for a bride and I am here to offer you what you desperately need with nothing in return..." Vera said, fighting the tears that plan to fall from her eyes.
"Give me two months and I will make you see that darkness is nothing but light in its world" Vera spoke firmly.
"I will bear you an heir, leave and never return..."
"Kid do you think I am that stupid..?" Scott asked, with his attention focused on her once again.
"Coming here, offer yourself and then asked for nothing in return, who does that?" Scott asked and scoffed.
"I wasn't sent mister scott, I am willing. What would you do if you can't provide an heir two months from now, without your business falling apart"
He clapped slowly, tilting his head sideways giving an impressed look "You did not only come here under a surveillance, you also have a hint of what I discussed yesterday" he spoke in disbelief. Now he is hating me, vera thought. She did not plan to reveal it but didn't know how it happened.
"I was just passing by and by mistake, I heard your conversation. It was by accident!" She lied, giving him a sorry look.
He bit his seductive pink lips, using his teeth to hold it in a row, before releasing.
"A compromise with darkness is never erasable when it comes with innocent..." He paused and giving her that prey look again.
"...are you going to offer that?"
