Adrian
He said that he loves me too. Ha! I'm not dreaming because he kissed me too, right? He initiated a kiss with me! It feels like a dream and I hugged him to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. I never saw this coming. I never thought that Gael would fall for me. I thought it was the fated one thing that would make him mine but no: HE LOVES ME TOO!
When I decided to confess to him, I did it so so that he could know how I feel before he learns the truth about himself. I didn't want him to think that I was doing it because it was an obligation after he finds out that we are fated to be together. I wanted him to know that I loved him for him. He was my heart. Without him I was nothing.
As I stood there holding onto him, I thanked all the gods for this man. For this moment. For the wait because it was worth it. I had brought him here so as to come clean so that he won't feel cheated when he learns of everything during his birthday and I swear things turned out better than I expected. I wanted to show him what I was and so I stood up as I said, "I have to show you something," I said as I looked on his face. Has he always looked at me that way? I saw love in those hazel eyes which were more golden right now.
Was I ready to show him what I was? I don't know. But it was either now or never. I was nervous. I didn't know whether he would hate me or not, but I had to do it.
"Gael, what I'm about to show you is something I have never even shown my parents. You are the second one to see me like this and I hope this won't make you change your mind about us," I said.
"Nothing in this world would make me change my mind about us. You can rest assured," he said as he smiled at me as if to reassure me.
I walked a short distance away from him and I turned. I was encompassed by the silver light as usual and I transformed. This time it was easier to control after all the practice.
I stood there and I heard him gasp. My Gael wasn't afraid of me. He was awed. He stood and walked towards me with his mouth agape like someone who was on autopilot. He came to where I was and looked up at me.
"Is this real Adrian?"
"Yes."
"Can I touch you?"
"We would be honoured."
He walked around me at first as he stared and then brought his hand to pat my back, the horse part. He gasped again.
"You are so magnificent! I love it. Wow! How? How?..."
"Thank you. Glad you are not afraid. I'm a centaur. It's a long story and I promise to tell it to you," I said and he asked me to kneel. I obeyed without question and he held my head on each side and then kissed me again. Ah, so many surprises today.
"I love how you look. Would you ever hurt me?" He asked me.
"Of course not. You know I would never," I said as I touched his face with the hand that wasn't holding the spear.
"You have nothing to worry about," I said then added, "Gael, there is someone I want you to meet," I said then let Jay out.
"Hello Gael? Its nice to meet you," Jay said in his deep captivating voice.
"Who are you?" Gael asked and this time he was wary. I knew it was weird because this was me but using a totally different voice and disposition.
"My name is Jay and I'm Adrian's centaur. We are happy that you love us too because..."
Jay was about to tell Gael about the fated one thing and so I cut him off before he could say anything. We had to wait for him to turn for him to feel the bond.
Not today. It was not yet time.
I changed back and he looked at me like I was a wizard who had just performed the greatest magic trick he had ever seen and I promised him that I will tell him everything with time.
"Do you want to leave or should we spend the night here?" I asked him.
"I would have loved to stay here but we don't have any food or blankets and I'm getting hungry," he said.
I looked at him and smiled.
Time to show him what a centaur could do.
