When I entered the house, Dad and Adrian were just chatting and no! They didn't even seem worried about where I was. They were in their own world as they chatted and laughed.
"I see I wasn't missed. How good to know!" I said sarcastically as I ignored them and started walking towards my room.
"It's him!" Kyl screamed in my head with excitement and Kay screeched in excitement.
"Stop you guys! You are going to give me a headache. What are you talking about?" I asked irritated. These two were making noise in my head and the two men I expected to be worried about me were in their own bubble. I just wanted to go and sleep it off.
"The centaur. He's our mate!" Kay said excitedly.
"What!" I asked as I looked at Adrian with an unbelieving expression. Was he my...
"He is our fated one!" They said together and I was now sure of what they meant.
"Sorry. We were teasing you," Adrian sensed when you landed on the rooftop. We just wanted to see your reaction and you reacted just like I had told your lover here you would," my dad laughed as he walked towards me and patted my shoulder but my attention was now on Adrian.
"You knew!" It wasn't a question. It was an accusation.
That's when they both noticed I wasn't happy and Adrian stood.
"Yes I did," he said as he went to touch me but I moved back. I felt betrayed and lied to. So, he just came to me because I am his fated one and not because he loves me? (This deserved a sarcastic laugh. Don't you think so?)
"So, you don't even love me? It's all about the fated one thing, isn't it?" I accused again because it all made sense now. If I wasn't his fated now, he wouldn't have followed me around. It was all because he had to. It was all an obligation and never about love.
"Listen to me Gael. Yes, I agree that I first started looking for you because of the bond. But I fell in love with you at first sight even before Jay confirmed that you were our fated one. Even without the bond thing, I would have fallen in love with you. I swear by my life," he said seriously looking at me as if my next words would determine whether he lives or dies.
I was inclined to believe him but I still had my doubts. (Would you believe him if you were me?)
"He's telling the truth." Kyl interrupted my thought process.
"Shut up!" I said in my mind.
"But it's true. He's not lying," Kay seconded and I wished at that moment that they were physical so that I could ground them to their rooms and be left alone with Adrian.
I looked at Adrian wanting to say something hurting because that's what I was feeling but I halted. A light bulb lit in my head out of nowhere.
"Wait! So, you are my fated one? We are fated? Oh my goodness! You are my fated one! ITS YOU!" I shouted and then pulled him towards me. I hugged him while laughing and tears fell down my face. At that moment, I wasn't sure what the tears were for. I couldn't believe it. Adrian was my fated one! (Ha ha ha! Talk about he irony of the century! I fell in love with my fated one.)
It just dawned on me that I don't have to worry about leaving him. He's my fated one. What a coincidence! What luck! I broke the hug and then kissed him. It wasn't soft or subtle at all. He took over as both of us fought for dominance. I kissed him with one thought: this is the man I am to spend the rest of my with. I loved it. Tongues danced and lips wrestled and we were in our own bubble.
"Ahem!" My dad cleared his throat and that's when we remembered that he was in the room.
We let go of each other while blushing and I apologized.
"Sorry. I was just excited," I said with a blush.
"No worries. I could tell. Tell us what went on with the Oracle," my Dad said with the excitement of a child. I now see Beau in him.
I smiled at them because they were about to be amazed.
"Adrian, portal us to the forest," I said with a mysterious smile and he did.
