Finally! Finally!
The big day that everybody was telling me to wait for had come. It was on a Saturday which was a good thing because there was no school. Adrian and Beau woke me up so early you would have thought that it was my wedding day. (How dare they wake me up at eight in the morning and there was no school. I had even decided to sleep in and not do my morning exercise but here are these two! - pouting)
Nevertheless, I was happy because Adrian and dad had things to tell me.
We went to the eatery early and all the friends Beau had invited came and we enjoyed although Adrian and I just sat and ate because how could we dance with fourteen year olds? Anyway, I allowed Beau to have her moment and I would say, yeah, it was a great success.
At exactly six o'clock, the party came to an end and dad asked Beau to go and spend the night at her friend's house. She argued but dad won. He knew how to deal with her. If it were me, I would have definitely lost to her.
We then drove home and it was just dad, Adrian and me. When we arrived home, I thought I was just gonna relax with them telling me their secrets but at around eight, an old man came and dad introduced him to us as the Oracle of our region. (Whatever that means)
We exchanged pleasantries and after that, he told me that he came to explain why I am "The Alpha" and he asked me to follow him.
Adrian wanted to come but the old man told him that I had to do this alone. I didn't know what "this" was but dad assured me that it would be okay.
We walked for a while until we got to the forest and he started explaining everything to me. He said that every two hundred years or so, two guardians are born to protect our world as we know it (not just Xor) from alien invasions. It was upon the two guardians to make sure that humanity was safe. He said that it was time because the first one had been revealed it was the time for me to reveal what I was.
We talked up-to around twelve in the night when he said that it was time. I didn't know what it was time for and at that moment, I felt a searing pain in my body. Literally everywhere was aching and burning. I couldn't even scream and I knelt and started hitting the ground with my fists as I sweat a river.
He told me not to struggle and let the pain flow within me. I remembered the dream I had with my mom in it and she telling me the same words.
I let it go and I felt light headed like I would faint any minute but I didn't faint. Instead, I felt a cooling sensation run down throughout my body and then a bright golden light encompassed me. I felt my bones change but there was no pain. I had stopped struggling and waited for what was to happen to happen.
After a while, the golden light disappeared and I saw the old man staring at me with his mouth agape.
"Wow! I thought the centaur was powerful but this, this is on another level," he said as he looked at me with reverence.
The centaur? As in Adrian?
