Alex Bayly walked ahead while Azrael followed quietly from behind as they inched closer to the car.
The red Honda was parked just a few meters away from the police station. Jude Greystone and his boys came with a black Toyota jeep. They stood outside of the car while they watched Alex Bayly and Azrael Herrington.
"See you soon, Kannais..." Jude Grey stone shouted, he then signaled to his boys to enter the car, after which he drove off.
Azrael Herrington couldn't help but be suspicious.
The last thing he remembered was being held at gunpoint by Jude Greystone and his boys, after which, he was knocked out, he then later recovered from being unconscious and went out in search of Alex Bayly only to fall into the hands of some thieves that implicated him and caused him to be arrested.
Fast forward to the present time, he found Alex Bayly and Jude to have some form of hidden understanding between them and this didn't sit well with him.
He couldn't ask Alex Bayly because it was truly none of his business, neither could he ask Jude Greystone, that's just not going to happen.
So all he could do was try not to assume the worst, and try to stay positive.
They both got into the car silently, and by this time, Alex Bayly had gone back to her cold, and indifferent attitude.
She focused on the road as she switched on the ignition and reversed out of the parking space and into the main road and then drove off.
On their way, she remembered the last thing Azrael asked her before she was ambushed by Jude and his men, she turned her face to give a quick look at Azrael before turning back to face the road.
They both sat in silence while the car continued humming with every increase in speed.
Azrael had a lot of questions begging to be asked but he just couldn't muster the courage to ask. Not just because she was his teacher, but more so because she happened to be his soulmate.
He would glance at her from time to time, while she continuously maintained a serious, no-nonsense expression.
Eventually, they got home, and she drove into the parking space in the garage.
As she got down, she noticed a black SUV on her compound.
She wondered if she had just gotten a visitor or if it was all something else. Azrael was also wondering if his teacher who seemed to be a loner also gets visited once in a while.
They both stared at the car for a while before they walked toward it.
As they got closer, the driver's door suddenly opened, and coming out of the driving space was a very handsome man in his mid-thirties. He wasn't as good-looking as Azrael Herrington but he had this enchanting male energy about him that makes him nonetheless attractive.
Alex Bayly was first wondering who this figure was and wanted to match up to him and give him a good scolding, but on a second look, she discovered that this was a very familiar face, in fact, too familiar.
As she looked closer, wondering who the person might be, the visitor took off the sun shade on his eyes.
Azrael was almost laughing, wondering, who would be wearing a sunshade around 7 pm.
Alex on the other hand wasn't smiling, because she just recognized the person who was in her compound.
This is a fellow whose memory has haunted her for years. He was someone she never really got over, her first love and the only lover she has ever had.
"Damien Norman"
She said in shock. A part of her wants to confront him, another part doesn't want him to get offended and leave, and a third part wants answers.
"Who are you..." Damien asked Azrael without even bothering with Alex's shocked expression. He has felt disturbed and concerned ever since he noticed the presence of another male figure in the car of Alex Bayly.
He always believed that Alex was someone he could always have access to as long as there was no one else to mess things up but seeing Azrael Herrington was giving him a massive red flag signal.
"You're the one who barged in here without giving us a notice, I think, I should be the one asking the questions here..." Azrael responded.
"This piece of shit... Alex, who is he?" Damien was getting triggered by Azrael's response, then turned to his ex for answers.
Alex looked at Damien and then at Azrael confused over what was going on between them.
"Damien, what are you doing here?" Alex finally responded with a question, pretending not to be aware of the awkward situation.
"Are you not going to tell me the identity of this stranger in your home..." Damien asked as jealousy and overthinking started to set in.
"I think we are passed that now Damien, go back to your new girlfriend and leave me the hell alone, after all, you told me she was better than me.."
Alex responded as tears started to drop from her eyes after Damien's presence reopened an old wound.
"Now look what you've done, you little piece of shit, ..." Damien still wanted to blame Azrael and attack him, but before he could move, Alex raised a hand to him,
"Damien, get out..."
Damien was caught off guard like someone who was electrocuted. It shocked him a lot to find Alex so aggressive towards him. It has never been this way.
Seeing that he was losing control of the situation, Damien had to soften himself.
"Lexy...." in a soft tone, Damien called Alex the nickname he made for her back when they were still lovers.
"I'm sorry, I just get jealous seeing someone else standing beside you. I know I made a mistake all those years ago by leaving you. I want you back and I'll do everything to have you..." Damien tried to look cute while saying it, he moved closer to Alex Bayly and reached out to her but she pushed his hand away.
"You won't want me to sleep outside in the dark... Lexy, please let me in..." He continued.
Alex Bayly couldn't help but soften. Her anger dissipated as she turned and started walking back in. "The room on the east wing is yours.." Alex Bayly said as she walked towards the door.
Azrael didn't understand what just happened. 'Did my soul mate just allow such a massive asshole back into her life...?' Azrael could feel the tinge of jealousy coming up strong within him, but he slowly walked forward, following behind Alex Bayly. What more could he do? He was also a freeloader like Damien.
"Psst, Hey...you, come here and carry this bag..." Damien rudely called Azrael like he was his errand boy. Only if he knew the background of Azrael Herrington, he probably would be prostrating before him.
Azrael clenched his fist but instead of responding he just walked in without looking back. Damien was mad, Azrael was mad and while Alex was unable to control her tears, it was slowly turning into a mad house chaos.
