Azrael Herrington got out to see Alex Bayly cleaning the movable glass windows. She had also collected the curtains into a big bowl to be washed.
Damien on the other hand was moving around, basically doing nothing like a supervisor. He would check a place and move on the next like he was seeing things others couldn't.
"Lazy clown," Azrael said as he went to get the vacuum cleaner.
He went to the rug of the sitting room and started to clean one portion at a time.
Alex noticed this and was glad. "Thank you Azrael", she said with a smile.
" Good morning miss Alex" Azrael greeted back with a grin. Damien felt jealous. 'She didn't even greet me...'
Damien moved closer to Alex, "Darling, see, I am also checking for dirt and dust around. it's a tough job just trying to locate those things..." He tried to sound responsible as he spoke.
Alex Bayly just shook her head and continued with what she was doing.
Damien wasn't happy with that, he looked back at Azrael in jealousy and decided to pick on him.
"Hey, piece of shit, you missed a spot..." He went and dropped a piece of paper on the rug.
Azrael didn't even bother with him, he just went to other areas of the living room to clean.
Alex was angry that Damien was making the place more untidy, "Look if you're not interested in helping you can just go, don't make the place Azrael just cleaned untidy..." Alex Bayly spoke in an angry tone which made Damien surprised.
He suddenly was feeling like a third-wheeler in this gathering. He fumed as he gazed upon Azrael. He clenched his fist in anger and walked away.
After Damien had gone, Alex glanced at Azrael and spoke. "What are your plans for today? After I'm done, I will be going to school to do some study, do you want to come along?"
Azrael was a bit surprised that she was telling him about her scheduled activities for the day. He stopped the vacuum cleaner and raised his head to look at Alex Bayly.
"I would have loved to go with you, but I wanted to see one of my friends from school. He wanted to teach me some parts of biology..." Azrael lied. He didn't want to mention the old man at all and he also didn't want Alex to be concerned about him for some reason.
"I can teach you biology if you want..." Alex Bayly responded before she could hold back her tongue.
'What is wrong with me' She asked herself as she spoke in her mind. She didn't know what to say anymore. If she denied the help she just offered then that would make her look bad so she kept quiet to hear Azrael's response.
However, before Azrael could respond, Damien barged into the living room and also straight into the conversation. "Why would you go and study on a Saturday, that's boring, that's also canceled, my darling we are going out on a date, no questions asked..." Damien slammed his decision on her without even finding out her interest.
"Damien... I" Alex was short of words.
"No, Alex, When I wasn't here you could spend all your time doing boring stuff, but now that I'm here, none of that is happening on my watch." Damien looked manly as he took charge.
Azrael couldn't even begin to list the number of ways he wanted to kill Damien right now. He just watched with his mouth slightly agape.
"Alright..." Alex gave in. She also didn't want to study today, it had just become natural to her since she usually used school work to preoccupy her weekend.
And For some weird reason that she couldn't explain, she wanted Azrael by her side but it felt weird to ask directly.
Now that Damien had promised to take her out, she could only shelf that desire for now. She decided to follow him out, and at least have 'fun' if only for that day.
"We could finally ditch the third Wheeler..." Damien said with a smile as he glanced at Azrael, trying to annoy the latter.
Azrael turned on the vacuum cleaner and continued to clean.
He wanted to respond but he felt it a waste of time to be bantering with Damien.
He felt he just missed a good opportunity to be closer to his soul mate.
He had mixed feelings bubbling within him as he occasionally gazed at Alex.
Something was hinting at him in the pit of his stomach that he should have accepted to go with her, maybe she won't have agreed so easily to follow this asshole (Damien).
A while later, the cleaning ended and Azrael got dressed and wanted to exit when Alex abruptly called him and asked him to wait. Azrael was confused as to what she wanted but he waited nonetheless, with his mind wandering in several places.
Alex came to meet him by the door and gave him her debit card.
"Here, take this, if you need to get anything just order, the code is in this paper," Alex said handing him both her card and a piece of paper.
Azrael was surprised and wondered how rich his teacher would be to use this type of debit card.
It wasn't just any debit card it had a gold stamp ingrained on its surface to show it was a special card for wealthy people.
This was the last card that his father (Hayes) used before changing to a platinum card, so Azrael could tell that this was a special card and more so that his teacher was rich, but he couldn't tell from whence she got her wealth outside of her teaching job.
Azrael returned the card and the paper to her, but he didn't remove his hands immediately as their hands connected, he then looked into her eyes. "I will be fine, just give me your number, I'll call later on to check on you..." Azrael had dropped all forms of honorifics as he spoke to his teacher/soulmate. He could feel a spark within him storing him to do more, he was trying his best to restrain himself.
Alex also didn't even pick up on the fact that her student just spoke to her as a lover would, she was also gazing into his eyes, lost in this indescribable feeling of calm and desire.
Before she could respond, Damien came out to meet them, exposing his bare chest while wearing a towel around his waist. "Hey, piece of shit, take your hands off my girlfriend.. "
It was at this point that Azrael noticed his hands were on top of Alex Bayly. Alex was also not attentive to that detail. At this point Azrael took away his hands slowly, he wished he didn't have to.
He looked at her like a sad puppy, then he said "Bye" softly to Alex Bayly who nodded in response.
Damien was confused about what was going on, he just couldn't understand who exactly that boy was or why his ex was so protective of him. She puts on a cold and aloof personality but it's obvious to see that she deeply cares about him.
He wanted to argue but he decided to shelve it for now so as not to ruin the mood for the later date. However, he couldn't help but have the nagging feeling that he was the third wheeler in all of these, whatever it was that was going on between his ex and this mysterious boy.
