Chapter 24 - Brawl!!!

Azrael was surprised to not hear or notice any form of restriction or refusal from his teacher. Alex Bayly was in his embrace like an obedient dog to its master.

The most shocked was Damien as he sat in his car watching these two, hug it out. He didn't even know if he was mad out of jealousy or hatred for Azrael.

He pressed down on the horn again, this time it was so loud that the neighbors were startled. A couple of the near neighbors even came around to inspect the point from which the sound was made.

On seeing that there wasn't anything serious. They started to curse at the driver (Damien) which disturbed their peace.

"At least press the horn with sense.."

"You just had to press that horn like an asshole.."

"Seriously dude, I was in the middle of a shower, I thought there was an invasion..."

"Just look at his face, he looks stupid..."

While the neighbors were cursing at Damien, both Azrael Herrington and Alex Bayly walked into the Alex Bayly residence through the side gate, leaving Damien alone outside with the main gate closed on him.

Damien was so angry, he could explode in flames from how red his face was, but who cares, the other two were already indoors.

Alex and Azrael entered the house walking side by side with a half hug. At this point, Alex suddenly jolted awake as if being electrocuted and separated herself from Azrael.

'What am I doing.. this is my student. This could end my career if word got out...' She thought as she moved back.

"Did I do something wrong?" Azrael asked with a solemn expression, wondering why she suddenly yanked her arm from his.

"No..." Alex Bayly replied in a gruff voice, she then turned and walked away. She entered her room and fell on her bed in a heap. Her heart was beating fast.

'Why do I have these feelings for him? Why can't I control myself? It's like he has this hold over me, Am I enchanted or something?' Alex Bayly was pondering.

Just as she was about to turn on her bed, she heard yelling and hitting from outside as if there was a pugilistic duel coming from the source of the sound.

She got up as fast as she could and ran towards the source of the sound, it was then she saw Damien kneeling on top of Azrael and punching his face, chest, and every part he could hit.

"Damien, get off him..." Alex shouted. It was like she could feel every single pain that Azrael was going through, although it was extremely mild that it was almost negligible, but it was still felt.

She ran up to Damien and tried to shove him off, Damien pushed Alex back and she stumbled and fell on her back.

~gbooommm~

She fell with a painful contact of her back and butt bridge with a chair and then the floor. She was whimpering from the excruciating pain.

"Alex.....!!!" Azrael screamed as he dropped all formalities. He suddenly was overwhelmed with rage, even Damien couldn't explain where that strength came from.

Azrael shoved Damien off him like one would lift a paper bag, and he threw him like a tennis ball. Damien landed on the metal ridge of the glass window, injuring his back, and arms and tearing his flesh that made contact.

~Ahjhhhhhhhhh~ Damien screamed in pain.

Azrael didn't pursue further, instead, he ran up to Alex who was turning on the ground. He was checking her and weeping.

His tears were dropping on her face as worry, fear, guilt and emotional pain overwhelmed him.

'I shouldn't have allowed him to push her, what if something bad has happened to her? They warned me about my soul mate being in mortal danger...' He thought as he was sobbing and his emotions were going wild.

He placed a hand gently on her face, caressing her cheeks softly. Alex Bayly turned to look at him and saw how emotional he was and she became touched. Something inside her clicked as if a bolt and nut had connected. She became overwhelmed with an uncontrollable feeling of love.

"Hey, stop crying... I'm fine..." Alex Bayly said in a low tone that sounded weak and slow. Azrael stopped sobbing and gazed into her eyes. Staring into them gave him an unusual calmness and comfort.

Damien had long left the place where he was thrown at. He had gone to his room to pack his things. He knew things were over no matter what and he had no more tricks up his sleeve.

Azrael had annoyed Damien to the limit of his patience, and he in turn decided to be pugilistic in his response, however, things went sideways when he pushed away Alex Bayly who was trying to break apart the brawl, injuring her in the process, and this sent Azrael over the edge.

Azrael tried to help Alex to stand. Alex struggled to her feet and managed to stand. The pain from the hit on her back had reduced drastically.

"I think we should see a doctor... Azrael said staring at her lovingly. Alex shook her head, " No, I'm fine..." Just as she wanted to speak, Damien came out with a bag containing all his belongings.

He wordlessly walked to the front door and walked out without looking back. A few minutes later the car could be heard humming to life, outside of the house and Damien drove away.

Both Azrael and Alex stood on the same spot without uttering a word as they stared at each other. Alex had a complex string of emotions, stirring around in her head while Azrael was pondering on the different episodes that has happened in the space of minutes.

He was still concerned about her back and spoke, "let us go and get your back checked out, if it turns out to be nothing, we could return... Alright?" Azrael asked with an apprehensive gaze.

After a few seconds of wordlessly staring back, Alex nodded in agreement. "I'll drive..." Azrael announced further to Alex's surprise.

"Can you drive?" Alex asked in wonder.

"I already have my license.." Azrael said nonchalantly.

"How? You're not even eighteen?" Alex Bayly responded with her mouth Agape.

"Uhhhh, Can we shelve this discussion for later?" Azrael asked with a bitter smile.

"In that case, I'm not handing over the keys to you..." Alex let out as she moved to grab the keys to her red Honda from her room and returned shortly after.

Azrael didn't argue anymore and just followed her out.
