It was late in the night around 11 pm and everyone had settled in their beds. Azrael couldn't shake the feeling that Alex Bayly was about to be taken for a ride (jilted).
The next day was a Saturday, it was the day Azrael was supposed to meet the old man in white at the town square of Wolvescamp. He was scared that if he went alone, he would be leaving his soul mate in the hands of a tiger (Damien Norman).
Damien on the other hand was excited, "Finally, I can get Alex Bayly back. she is everything I've always wanted, all those other girls can't compare, I just need to find a way to remove that leech from her side, and then we could be a couple again" He muttered to himself while holding his pillow between his raised thighs while laid back on the bed.
Azrael tried his hardest to sleep but the sleep just wasn't coming. He would turn from one side to another in discomfort. At a point, when he couldn't take it anymore, he got out of bed and went out to get some water to maybe calm his mind by cooling his throat.
Just as he stepped out of the left wing of the house, he also saw Alex Bayly stepping out of her side from the right wing.
Their eyes met for a few seconds but they wordlessly moved around to do what they came to do.
They both settled later on the table, Azrael was drinking water while Alex Bayly prepared tea.
"Azrael, why are you up?" Alex finally asked. "I know it's Friday night but you've been through so much already today, you should be resting." Alex continued.
Azrael was shocked by the care and concern in her words. It surprised him that she could be this cool and calm when talking to him.
"I was worried about you... I don't trust that man..." Azrael managed to respond.
"You're worried about me? Are you my guardian angel or something?" Alex joked as a rare smile formed on her face.
Azrael was quiet, unsure of how to respond.
"Damien is my Ex, and we have been talking about getting back together, although he seems rough around the edges and a little rambunctious but he means well, and I'm thinking of giving him another chance... Wait why am I telling you all these?... good night, I'm going to bed" Alex Bayly found Azrael Herrington so easy to talk to.
She had started to pour out her heart when she discovered she was talking to her student about her personal life matter, something she has never done to even people she could call family, or friends, let alone a student she just met.
She stopped herself from speaking further, got up, and walked back to her room. Azrael on the other hand felt like his heart had been stabbed.
If Alex was giving Damien another chance, this could spell doom. not only for his chances of being with her but also for the state of her heart.
Damien looks like a player, someone who would never be satisfied with a single girl. There is no way he would settle for Alex Bayly without having someone else on the side, and Alex is the type of woman who gives her all to her man and expects the same trust and devotion.
Azrael was also afraid that his soul mate might be taken from him. He now has to fight this terrible fate and hope love wins, but before he could, he needs power, this is one of the few times he wished he had the strength of a werewolf.
He couldn't swallow the water he had poured down his throat. His heart was heavy and so was his mental state.
He forced the water down and wanted to get up, it was then he saw Damien staring back at him from the corridor of his room space.
Azrael was startled. 'Where did this guy come from just now?'
He shook a little before regaining his balance. He later started walking back to his room without saying a single word.
"You little piece of shit..." Damien was pissed from being ignored, he marched up to Azrael and wanted to slam his fist on his face when suddenly, he heard a word from behind him...
"If you touch him, whatever it is between us is over..." The voice of Alex Bayly sounded throughout the living room with a level of aggression.
Damien had to control his hands quickly and turned to see Alex Bayly who was watching with an eagle-like concentration.
Damien let go of Azrael and went close to Alex. "I'm sorry, my love, this piece of shit keeps getting on my nerves. Why won't you tell me who he is, so I can help you if you owe him a debt or something, I have lots of money you know..."
Alex Bayly turned and started to speak while walking away. "I don't need your money..."
After she was out of sight, Azrael also muttered to himself, but he made it clear enough so that Damien could hear, "Idiot..."
Damien heard that and he felt rage building within him. He wanted to slam his fist on Azrael's head but he remembered Alex Bayly's threat and stopped.
"I will get you one day..." Damien said through gritted teeth while walking back to his room begrudgingly.

It was finally Saturday, the birds chirped beautifully in the trees, and the early morning breeze was soothing and slow while it was quiet in Alex Bayly's residence.
The next day came rather quickly for Azrael's liking. He heard Alex Bayly knock on the front of his door to wake him up.
"Azrael, we're cleaning the house today, please come and assist..."
Azrael noticed that for the first time, he didn't feel any headache, in fact, he was fitter than ever. He got up in surprise and wondered, 'was it because I heard her voice last night and this morning that I felt relieved and the headache didn't come?' He pondered.
Just as he was about to stretch, he heard another bang on his door. This one was harsher, and rougher, "Hey sleepy head get out of that room you piece of shit..."
Damien's voice felt like someone poured cold water on Azrael. It was the last thing he wanted to hear.
He wanted to sit back in and disregard the voice but on remembering that Alex had already asked him to, he got up and got out of the room.
