" Madison, what's going on?" Prince Hezra asked, cutting them out from the truce they were in.
Madison couldn't be any happier than she was right then.
Noticing that prince Nazim was distracted and his hold on her hand had to loosen a bit, she quickly freed herself, took prince Hezra's hand, and ran into the library, leaving prince Nazim standing there like a clown.
"Hold on, Madison, what was that all about?" Hezra asked, referring to the sort of position he saw Madison with his brother.
"Forget about that, it was nothing"
"It was nothing? And I heard you telling him that you loved him" he pointed out.
" I just said that because I didn't want him to take me to his father, that was all"
"Fine. I don't care what goes on between you and my brother, but you should know that Nazim and Kontas are not on good terms. So, whatever you are doing, be careful" he warned.
"Yes, sir, I have heard. Anyway, I need to ask you something about Kontas"
" I have told you before, Madison, I know nothing. And before I forget, you have to leave the library. Slaves aren't allowed in, and if you are caught, I don't know what will be done to you" Hezra said, trying to drag her out of the library, but the damn stubborn girl refused to move an inch.
"Come on Madison, you are going to put yourself in trouble"
" I'm the one that will be in trouble, isn't it? Don't worry about me and just tell me anything you know about Kontas, and I promise never to bother you again" Madison persisted.
She needed to know about Kontas. No, she must know about him, and she is not moving an inch until she gets what she wants.
Ruffling his head annoyingly, Hezra growled as he said to Madison,
"You are one troublesome girl"
"But you still adore me?" Madison grinned, pointing out the obvious.
She knew exactly how to get Hezra to bend to his will, and he liked it.
"Ok, I'm only going to help you with this once. And I mean it Madison, after these, there will be no more"
"Yes sir, I promise never to ask you for a favor again," she said happily.
She does have Hezra wrapped on her palms, and she intended to make good use of it.
"I wasn't lying when I said I didn't know Kontas's history, but I do know someone that might know a little about him"
"Who?" Madison asked, but Hezra didn't reply.
He was looking so focused like someone who was communicating with another person.
"He is on his way," he replied. Madison was getting agitated now, she hated nothing more than being kept in the blues.
She so wanted to know every little thing that was going on.
" For the love of God, can you tell me who is…what the fuck!!" Madison screamed when Tez suddenly appeared in front of them without notice.
" Here he is,"Hezra grinned, pointing at his brother who had a frown on his face.
"Don't tell me coming to keep you two company was the crucial thing you need to tell me?" Tez asked with 'am so going to kill you if it is' look.
" I might have exaggerated on the very important part, but I promise that keeping us company is far from what I called you here for,"Hezra said, tapping Tez softly on the back.
" So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about? Because as you can see, I was quite busy before you called me"
" Busy with what if I may ask," Hezra asked, knowing exactly what he was busy doing.
He was probably on the bed with a goddess, if not only one.
"Don't look at me like that, man has to enjoy himself" Tez defended.
Madison was tired of being treated as invisible. She has been standing with them, and they were just talking over her head and she wasn't going to talk about it anymore.
"Excuse me, there is a human being here," she said waving her hands over their faces to get their attention and that did the trick because she got their attention.
" Finally I am being acknowledged,"she frowned.
" Madison! What are you doing here?" Tez asked, surprised.
No slave was allowed into the library, it was against the rules and Hezra was well aware of that.
"Hezra, what were you thinking of bringing her into the library? You are well aware of what father will do to you if he finds out"
"But he won't because you are not going to tell him. She is just worried about Kontas that's all" Hezra explained trying to get him to side with him, and just like he thought, Tez did side with him.
"Fine. What do you want from me?" Tez asked Madison.
"I just want to know about Kontas, that's all," she said.
" I don't know much about Kontas, father made sure anything important about him wasn't known. Only one person knew all about him"
"Who?" Madison asked excitedly.
" The first great goddess"
" But the first great goddess is no more," Hezra pointed out.
Okay, Madison was not cool with the turn of the conversation, they were shutting her out again, and she wasn't going to take that.
"Wow guys, if you have forgotten so soon, but I was the one who asked the question"
" We are sorry, it's kind of our thing," Tez said.
"You mean shutting people out?" Madison asked as they both nodded.
Wow, what an interesting story, but that was not wanting she worked off her butt to get.
"Who is the great goddess?"
"Do you want to know about Kontas or the great goddess?" Tez asked. He wanted to know where he should be focusing on, and focusing on two things wasn't his thing.
Madison thought about his question and decided to stick to what she came for. She would ask about the great goddess another time.
"Kontas". Going to the far end of the library where a long table and chairs were placed, they took a seat and made sure that Madison was out of view, so she wouldn't be quickly sighted by anyone.
"Well, the only thing I know about Kontas is that he is strong…" Tez started but was quickly caught shut by Hezra.
"Everyone knows that he is strong Tez"
"Oh really, then if you knew that, why did you send it to me?" he asked, pissed off.
Tez hates when the spotlight is taken from him when it was his time, and that was what Hezra did.
"Am sorry you can continue"Hezra said.
"Everyone knows that Kontas is strong, but no one knows how strong he is. Our father slept with one of the greatest witches, but there was a rumor that the witch charmed him or something, I can't really remember" bending over the table like he doesn't want anyone to hear him, he whispered,
"just imagine the product of a strong witch and a strong god"
"Why are we whispering?" Madison asked, not that she didn't like the way they were whispering, she just doesn't want to miss anything helpful.
"The story of Kontas is forbidden, "Hezra asked.
"Why?"
"Do you want me to continue or not?" Tez asked, pissed.
Okay, Madison doesn't like bossy guys at all, and he was about to get it from her. When he saw Madison raise her hands in surrender, he continued.
" Kontas is so strong, I don't mean just strong, but so strong. I never understood how strong Kontas was until I went to the battlefield with him. His sword didn't slay anyone, his pain alone was what got the deed down ".
When Tez noticed that Madison was about to say something, he pinned her mouth with his hand. But when he saw the death glare coming from her, he quickly removed his hand.
Tez doesn't know what it was about her that makes him weary. Even his beast had warned him not to mess with her.
And for his beast to be scared of her, then he needs to be careful not to get on her bad side.
He liked Madison, no doubt, the way Hezra likes her. She was fun to be with and the few weeks she has been with them have gotten to all of them, including Nazim and Kontas.
No god was stupid enough not to be careful if their beast warns them to, and Tez wasn't stupid.
