Madison has gone everywhere she possibly knows in Begtuok still it feels like she hasn't even gone half of the place.
No wonder Hezra said it wasn't a place that can be trekked. She wished at that moment she wasn't a slave, but rather one of the gods, so she would be able to teleport.
Where could Hezra be that she hadn't seen him yet?
Should she just give up, and forget all about unraveling him?
She doesn't even know why she was so interested in knowing him and everything about him.
As she was about to finally give up, she saw Rei. She was so happy to see her. Since after the assembly of the slaves, she hasn't seen Rei, and she missed her.
" What are you doing here?" Rei asked.
She knew that Madison was up to no good again because she seems to be the type who likes causing trouble.
" I should be asking you that. What are you doing here?"
"Well, my master was going to the library, so he asked me to go call his brother"
"You mean prince Nazim?"
"Yes. So now, tell me what you are doing here. You are far away from the third prince quarter"
"Well, I am looking for Hezra"
"Hush!" Rei whispered, yelling as she quickly covered Madison's mouth with her eyes wide open.
"You don't call the princes by their names, Madison. Do you want to get yourself killed?"
"We are the only ones here, Rei,"Madison frowned as she removed Rei's hand from her mouth.
"Even though Madison, the gods still have eyes. Anyway, why are you looking for Prince Hezra?" Rei asked curiously.
" I want to ask him something"
" What?"
"You won't be able to know. So do you know where he is?"
"Prince Hezra likes reading a lot, so I guess he is probably in the library," Rei explained.
" Hmm, do you know where the library is then?"
"Is not far from here, if you are fast enough, you will be able to catch up with prince Nazim who is also going to the same place"
"Ok, thanks. See you later" she waved. But before she could rush off, Rei stopped her.
" Don't tell me you intend to go into the library?" Rei asked suspiciously.
"Hmm, no"
"gods Madison, what were you thinking when Mrs. Semet was reading out the rules? We the slaves are not allowed in the library or else we would be punished"
Rei said trying to talk some senses into her, but it was like she was talking to a brick wall.
" I will just be in there for some time. They won't even notice me I promise" she grinned as she ran off ignoring Rei's calls.
Madison had a perfect plan on how to get into the library, and that plan will work only if prince Nazim hasn't already entered the library.
" Guess fate decided to be by my side this time" Madison grinned as she saw Prince Nazim speaking with a god and goddess.
Immediately Nazim saw the god of compulsion coming his way, he tried looking for a way to avoid him but couldn't find one.
Since the day Nazim met him, which was 100 years ago, the god of compulsion has made it his daily routine to introduce his different daughters to him whenever he has the opportunity.
Nazim was only grateful that he had a powerful mind shield that helped him to stand against his compulsion, if not, he would have fallen prey to his compulsion.
"Prince Nazim, how have you been?" the god of compulsion asked with a broad smile that brought out all of his teeth. It was irritatingly annoying.
" I am good and you?" Nazim asked, putting on the best smile he could master.
"The same here, my prince. You do remember my daughter Temy?"
"Of course. How can I ever forget such beauty?"
"Thank you for the compliment, my prince" Temy bowed, flushing on both cheeks.
"So my prince, I will be delighted if we can…"
"You see I am quite busy right now, why don't we continue this conversation later? Ok? Then please excuse me" Nazim said as he walked away, not giving the man nor his daughter a chance to speak.
Nazim hates when gods bring their daughter to him, and he even hates it more that he can't shut them up the way Kontas does.
Instead, he has to stand and engage in any conversation they bring up if he wants to be acknowledged by them, and it is annoying.
Nazim was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't notice that someone was following him, but when he did notice, he just smiled because he knew exactly who it was.
Since the very first time he saw her, that was during the selection, he didn't understand why he put the girl's scent to memory, but he loved her scent, it intoxicated him.
When Nazim had reached the front of the library, he decided not to enter yet, but instead wait for the person following him to review herself.
Turning invisible, he walked to the front of the library door and rested his body on it with his hands crossed over his chest.
Madison was becoming frustrated, she was sure she saw prince Nazim standing in front of the library, where then did he go?
" Where could he have gone? I'm pretty sure he was standing right her" Madison said as she went and stood the same prince Nazim was standing before he suddenly disappeared.
Meanwhile, prince Nazim couldn't hide the grin that had made its way to his face.
He found her quite adorable with a childish attitude. Everything she was doing, from biting of her lips in frustration to talking to herself, Nazim found all adorable.
He wondered how she would look if he suddenly appeared in front of her.
Madison was still in the same standing in the same place when someone whispered behind her,
" Are you looking for me?"
Screaming out of fear, Madison threw a punch at the person who invaded her privacy, but instead, the person caught her hand easily.
Madison was shocked when she saw the face of the person she nearly hit.
" Prince Nazim," she stammered.
"Do you know the punishment of trying to hit a prince?"
" You can't blame me for that, you suddenly appeared behind me. It was self-defense"
Madison defended trying to get her hand off his grip, but that only made Nazim tighten his hold.
" Fine, let's say it's self-defense then. Why were you following me?" He asked, watching her every move.
"I wasn't"
"Lies. You know, you are not good at lying. So, let's try it again, why are you following me? And if you lie again, then I am taking you straight to my father" he warned.
Madison was in a tight situation. She didn't know how she was getting out of the trouble she landed herself in. She can't even tell him that she wanted to go to the library because that will be another trouble she will be getting herself into.
What was she going to do now?
"I… I…can you just let this pass, this one? I promise you won't see me ever again" Madison pleaded.
She needed to stop getting herself in trouble.
" Do I look like a fool"
"No"
"Follow me. Seems like you are not ready to talk" he said as he dragged her along with him.
Madison didn't know what else to say, so she just said whatever was in her head at that moment
" I love you," she shouted.
Madison was surprised that was what came out of her mouth.
Is she mad? How could that be the only thing that came out of her mouth?
She looked up at Nazim with wide eyes and saw him also looking at her with his mouth and eyes wide open.
"What?" He asked dazzled
"What," Madison asked also surprised at herself.
" What did you just say"
"Did I say anything?"
"Yes, you did"
"I don't think so" she chuckled awkwardly.
" You just said you loved me" Nazim persisted.
At that moment, Madison just wished the ground could open up and swallow her right up because at that moment she felt like dying.
