Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - No maidens!

All kinds of weapons were laid out for Magnius to choose from, and just from a glance he could tell every single one was deadly.

Gauntlets and spears and swords and bows and whips. Even a sleek looking contraption that seemed tailored to fit in a human hand. There was a small trigger in the middle. Sedia told him it was called a gun.

"Guns aren't even supposed to exist anymore?"

"Only hunters can get guns. On special occasions." She smiled at him.

"Well take your pick, Mag. I'd say the best weapons are ones that allow you to have a free hand, but you do you." Sedia sat down at the entrance to her house, the flames at the ends of her hair licking at the wooden steps. Mag had asked her how her house hadn't gone up in flames yet, once. She'd said that it already had. After the second time she figured out how to make it burn resistant using an artifact.

Magnius considered the weapons in front of him. If a free hand was the best, then gauntlets were the ideal weapons. They allowed you to attack and defend while using both hands like normal, after all. But there was a specific weapon pair that he kept glancing at.

Sedia whistled as he picked them up. A pair of short dual blades. Knives for severing and tearing flesh. She grinned like she was crazy. "I knew you wouldn't make a boring choice."

A perfectly sharp and smooth blade was in his left hand. It was similar to a katana, but it was a lot shorter, dagger sized. It felt strong but flexible, perfect for parrying and clean cuts.

The handle was connected to a thin wire that extended out to the dagger that was in his right hand. The blade was a lot straighter but serrated on both edges with death courting grooves.

Anything cut with this blade would suffer. It looked designed to rip and tear flesh instead of cutting. Felt heavier than the blade in his left hand, and both of them together felt perfect.

The most interesting part was the wire connecting both. It was as thin as spider silk, and it stretched in the same way.

"Names?" Magnius played with the serrated knife dagger, throwing it in the air and letting it flow between his fingers like fluid. The weight felt perfect as it flew between his digits.

"The sharp one is Peritus, the serrated one is Anticar. That wire connecting them is called Nexus. All together they're Perexar. But call it whatever you want, because that's more fun."

Sedia picked up a steel sword that was resting next to her and approached Mag.

Magnius was now swinging the knives together, the whizzing sounds they made as they cut through the air were masterful. In his left hand in graceful arcs, in his right hand deadly stabs. Sedia couldn't help but think Mag may have been born to wield the weapons. The dexterity with which he wielded both weapons was outstanding. Sedia could only imagine how terrifying he would be when he mastered the weapons.

"It's been a while since I've used a sword, but I don't really have a choice." Sedia swung the broadsword around with one hand like it was a breadstick.

"What weapons do you use normally?"

"None."

"Huh?"

Sedia grinned at him. "My flames are hot enough to melt a sword like this in 3 seconds or so, so using one would be useless. But I'm not using my flames to train you. Yet."

Magnius was again reconsidering what kind of existence Sedia was. His mentor seemed pretty overpowered. Flames hot enough to melt steel in seconds? What kind of cheat was that?

Magnius suddenly found that he had a massive oversight. He still hadn't asked grafton about spirits.

Sedia amused herself by throwing her broadsword in the air and catching it like it was a toothpick.

A demonic smile split her face as she said, "You're prepared to get cut up, right?"

Magnius suddenly understood why she had been in such a good mood.

Magnius was inspecting his body in Sedia's massive bath. Their weapons training had allowed him to learn more about his new healing power. His body only focused on healing one wound at a time.

The small cuts all over body were evidence of that. Sedia had cut off two or three of his fingers, which prevented the smaller cuts all over his body from healing. He took a breath to speed up the healing.

Another was that getting wounded still hurt like hell. Sedia had punctured an organ or two of his to get the point across, saying,

"Even if your body heals, it's a better idea to avoid injury. If your body experiences too much pain it will go into shock, and if your body goes into shock you might as well be dead."

Another was that internal injuries, especially his lungs, were dangerous.

After she'd stabbed his right lung he'd spent ten minutes coughing up the blood that had pooled inside of it. Even if the lung healed itself, it would still be full of blood. And drowning in his own blood didn't seem like a fun way to die to Magnius.

"Damn, what a body, hehe."

"WHAT THE $<"(?!"

Magnius quickly retreated to the edge if the bath. Sedia had snuck into the bath like a cat. He'd never even heard the massive doors open or close.

"What are you doing here…?"

"I'm checking out your body to see if it's healing properly. I'm your mentor aren't I? I'm supposed to take care of you."

"Do that AFTER my bath, you crazy bitch."

"That'd be useless, idiot."

Magnius couldn't help but react like this. Sedia Alimenti may have been his teacher, but she was also the most attractive female he had ever met. She had the face of a goddess and the flames in her hair only gave her a permanent glow, so she radiated like a goddess, too.

Her massive bosom alone was enough to make men submit with lust, and her smooth waist and seductive hips would enslave anyone with desire.

"Holy shit, Magnius, you're massive. And why does the shape look so perfect… I wouldn't mind giving that a ride."

"W-wha…"

Sedia was making his head spin.

"...Oi, Mag… Don't tell me…" Sedia frowned at him "You're a virgin?"

"..."

In an instant, Sedia had him out of the bath and was pushing him out of the house, saying 'I'm not taking a damn virgin into a gate' and how he 'should at least experience it once' before dying. Being a hunter was a dangerous job. Even with the near immortal bodies, human hunters still had a mortality rate of around 80%.

"Don't even think of coming back before you've had sex, you eunuch! Who the hell is a virgin at 18 nowadays?! And no maidens! I don't want some lovesick woman showing up on my doorstep because you were her first." Magnius wasn't even allowed to retort before she slammed the door in his face.

There was a massive problem, though. He was still naked.
