Vaina still wasn't sure about this man. She'd met him randomly on the street while she'd been running from her old colleagues. He'd been wearing nothing but a bathrobe and had a strange look on his face. Usually someone she would stay away from. But that was exactly why she'd asked him for help.
And then he'd helped her. By kissing her. She cringed thinking about how her knees had given out after the kiss. But magnius was unusually handsome and his body was toned like that of a god. And it had been her first kiss. So a normal reaction. Definitely.
And then he'd helped her get home. And then she'd let him in. And now he was sleeping on her floor. Next to her bed. She could hear him breathing.
Why the hell had she done all that? She had no idea how to deal with this current situation. What was her current situation anyway? She sighed with frustration.
Why the hell did the web think SHE had stolen the money, out of all people? Because of her debts? Or had she been framed?
Did her bastard of a father finally want to get rid of her? If nothing else, the idea of finally being rid of him excited her. Cutting ties with someone like him could only be called a good thing. He could barely even be called a person after what he does daily.
Her father was the spider's right hand man and his personal 'surgeon'. They called him the spider's fang because of how much he enjoyed cutting people up. He was the only one allowed to take people apart because of how much he enjoyed cutting them up. He'd met her mother and decided he'd impregnate her for the fun of it. Killed her after she was born. He was a bastard through and through.
And now what would he do to her, when she got caught? Clearly he made no exceptions for family.
She was lucky they didn't know about this safe-house, but she had a day at most before they caught her.
She imagined all the things they could do to her. Cut her up and sell her organs to make up for the money they'd lost? Very likely, as her father would enjoy doing that. Very much.
But even more likely was that they put her in one of their brothels. She would surely be a popular service. She knew how men looked at her when she walked past them. The only reason she hadn't been assaulted was because she was part of the web, and because they knew who her father was.
Vaina almost threw up from the thought of it. She couldn't suppress the shiver that ran through her body from the vileness of it.
Magnius stood up and gave her the blanket and pillow.
Why'd he do that…?
And that's when she got an idea. A stupid one.
She pulled Magnius down onto the bed with her.
What the hell was she doing?
"We can share body heat," was what she said as she pressed her back against him "s-so don't make this weird." But she knew that wasn't why she was doing it.
"Alright." Magnius put his arms around her and pressed her against him.
"What are you up to?"
"We can share body heat better like this. Don't make it weird."
"..."
This man behind her… this unfairly attractive man who had taken her first kiss. She turned around and kissed him. If the web caught her her tomorrow… if they were going to put her in a brothel… if she would be forced to do things with men she didn't know then she would at least choose who would have her first.
He was kind, and he had helped her. And most of all he was attractive. And that's all that mattered right now.
–
Magnius would be lying if he said he was surprised by the kiss. He could tell where the situation was going, and it's what he wanted anyway.
"...?!"
He was, however, surprised by how aggressive the kiss was. As if she was desperate; Vaina pressed her front against him and worked her way inside his mouth with her tongue, forcing him to open up.
He tightened his arms around her and she gasped a bit. He had no idea why she was so desperate, but he wasn't going to refuse her. This worked out for him, anyway.
She pulled off his shirt and threw it on the floor.
Still… It was strange. She was kissing him with such eagerness… but why did she seem sad?
She pulled off her shirt and unclasped her bra. He palmed her breast and she whimpered against him.
"Are you sure about this?" Magnius would make sure before she did anything she couldn't take back.
"Y-yes."
"I need you to say it without stuttering."
She pulled back from him and looked into his eyes. Now he knew for sure. She was definitely sad.
"Yes." She smiled at him, but he knew her heart wasn't in it. But he wouldn't stop now. Not when he was so close to completing his assignment.
Magnius chuckled inwardly again. Even this far along, when she was naked and bare beneath him, at his mercy, he still thought of this as an assignment. He truly was a bastard.
__
Vaina woke up before Magnius did. They'd done it for hours, and been sufficiently tired afterwards. She burned and blushed as she remembered everything they had done.
It had been intense. She had no idea whether it had been Magnius' first time as well, but she was glad she had given hers to him.
Vaina thought of her situation. She tried going through her options again. Was there any way to escape the web? Nope. That was surely impossible. And the only way out of the city was through a gate. And entering a gate unprepared was the same as walking into an early grave.
She looked up at Magnius' handsome face, soundly asleep. And she realized…
She DID have an option…
She stealthily escaped his sleeping grasp and got dressed.
She grimaced with pain.
It hurts to walk.
__
Magnius woke up and realized Vaina wasn't next to him anymore, but he didn't panic. He was sure she'd just gotten up to shower or get food. Instead he remembered what they had done. It was different from what he had imagined, but in a good way.
He understood why Sedia had made him do this. He had greatly underestimated how it would feel to be… wanted. It was definitely an experience everyone deserved to have at least once.
He wasn't worried about his performance. From the way Vaina had reacted and the sounds she'd made he was sure he'd been good.
He grinned. Maybe she'd want to do it again.
Magnius suddenly became tense.
There were voices on the other side of the bedroom door. But both of them were male. He remembered the men who had been after Vaina.
Where was she?
The voices became louder until eventually the door opened. Magnius pretended to be asleep. The men whispered to each other in hushed voices.
"This him?"
"You see anyone else, stupid? Just jab him and let's get out of here. It'll be an issue if he wakes up."
Magnius felt one of the men loom over him. He was large and brollic. Magnius mentally referred to him as 'stupid'. He called the other one 'idiot', because both of them would feel like stupid idiots in just a moment. He opened his eyes and struck out, surprising stupid by grabbing his neck.
"GArghu!" Stupid made a strange noise when Magnius suddenly choked him. He dropped a syringe with clear fluid inside of it– some kind of anesthetic?
"What the f@#ck?!" Idiot shouted out his surprise and reacted quickly, taking out a knife. He slashed at the arm that was choking stupid.
Magnius quickly retreated and took an opposite stance from both of them.
Sedia had taught him the process one should always take when fighting. Magnius was remembering that lesson at this moment.
"Observe. Think. Act. React. The first thing you do is observe your opponent. What are they doing? What are their characteristics? Are they armed?"
Stupid was still on the floor coughing, grasping at his neck that was now swollen and marked from Magnius choking him. Idiot was watching him nervously, glancing between him and Stupid. Idiot was armed, so Stupid most likely had a hidden weapon, as well.
"Then you think. What are they going to do next? What is your opponent thinking?"
Stupid was clearly still far from collecting himself, gasping for air as he was. Both Stupid and Idiot were clearly surprised.
But the only one who can act right now is Idiot, so he wants to buy time until Stupid can get up and take out his weapon. Magnius wanted to prevent that from happening.
"And then you act."
Magnius closed the distance between himself and Idiot in an instant. Idiot yelped with surprise and slashed the knife at him in a panic.
"And now you react."
Magnius grabbed Idiot's wrist before the knife could slash him, and smashed his head into the wall. Idiot's head was crushed to the point that the damage would be permanent, but Magnius wasn't done.
He grabbed Idiot by his clothing and threw him over his shoulder. Idiot was thrown onto the wooden floorboards with unimaginable force, shattering the floor and sinking through it.
Idiot's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he gasped like fish out of water.
Magnius could see Sedia smiling at him satisfied in his head. He wasn't done yet, though.
"Guh…" Stupid had just about recovered and stood up to face Magnius.
Magnius didn't even need to think about how to deal with him.
Stupid took a wild swing at him and missed because Magnius dodged to the side. Stupid was thrown off balance by his own weight, and Magnius took advantage of it by hitting him square in the face with a straight.
Stupid went down like a bag of bricks, collapsing on the floor.
Magnius crouched down and inspected Stupid and Idiot.
Who were these guys?
Both of them had tattoos of a web on their necks, as he expected. But they were different from Vaina's-- less detailed. And then he started to worry. Had they gotten to Vaina already?
Shik!
A sharp pain stung his neck as the syringe was inserted. The clear liquid drained out of the syringe and into his bloodstream, dulling his sense of feeling and causing him to collapse.
"Those dumbasses couldn't even do this?" Vaina stood over Magnius' limp body, making sure he was fully knocked out.
Seriously– Who was this guy? He was clearly a trained fighter.
Vaina nudged Niles with her foot.
"Oi, get up, he's out cold." Niles didn't wake up, so she went to get some water and dunked it over his head.
"Argh! Bastard crushed my nose with that punch!"
Niles grabbed his bloody nose and stood up, giving Magnius a kick in the ribs before picking both him and Ray up. Ray had a massive dent in the back of his head and was bleeding buckets.
Vaina watched him pick Magnius up and couldn't help but think to herself;
No wonder it hurts to walk, that thing is massive.
