Chapter 17 - Chapter 14.5 - Prophecy

Lilly and James were in Hogwarts, a boring staff meeting underway.

As they sat in their preassigned seats, they couldn't help but think about Charles. He was absolutely steaming when he heard that he wouldn't be able to go to the staff meeting, but after promising a few houses, interviews, and galleons worth of candy, he easily agreed to stay at home.

A goofy grin spread on both of their faces and when they looked at each other the grin only widened. They both knew what each other was thinking about; their only son Charles.

Eventually, Dumblewhore*Cough**Cough* sorry Albus(This narrator is totally not planning a murder) snapped them back to reality.

"Next topic of business-"

Suddenly Professor Tawney stood up from her seat, her hair doing a total Aizawa, and her voice going an octave deeper. Her eyes glowed a pale white and her face looked as if she was dead.

"A question mark in their future,

A question mark in their past.

A life full of questions, no one dares to ask.

Deceit around the corner,

Lies deep in your head.

Light once shining,

has grown dark and dim.

Good and bad, moving like a backward track,

The outcome is not determined,

But the stones were already set.

Someone you have forgotten,

A mistake you have made.

Will you watch what happens, or will you forsake?

Whether their important or not is what we want to know,

Your answer will seal the fate of those who come, and those who don't.

Look into the future,

and look into the past,

Only then can you find,

the answer that you ask."

The room was deathly silent, everyone staring at the professor in surprise.

The professor Tawney, infamous for being a phony, made a real prophecy?!

The professor's eyes turned back to their usual nonglowyness, and she sat back down in her seat with a small thud.

Wide eyes greeted her as she came out of her trance, shaking her head like she was getting something out.

"Heeellooooooo?" she asked, confused about why everyone was staring at her.

The room broke into chaos, while James and Lilly looked at each other in confusion.

They knew they were forgetting something. Something big, something huge.

A word, no, name, was on the tip of their tongue. Both of them knew it. Was it H-Had-Har, HADRIA-

"Calm down!" Aldick said, interrupting their trains of thought.

"The prophecy is obviously about how we have been neglecting Charles's training. So we have to make that a priority. I recommend[...]" Albitch trailed on, and on, and on, but Lilly and James just looked at each other concerned.

What were they thinking of earlier?

They shook their heads and thought about their sweet Charles. Ah, it probably wasn't important.

To them, he wasn't important.

And so, unknowingly, the Potters sealed their fate, and the prophecy was one step closer to being true.
