Chereads / FATED TO THE BILLIONAIRE: The Second Love / Chapter 12 - 12. Jonas Peterson

Chapter 12 - 12. Jonas Peterson

Natasha is in Christian's car. The woman was just silent. Instead, she looked stiff because Cristian never took his eyes off Natasha.

Jonas watches Christian's antics from the rearview mirror. Christian sees Natasha as not like a man who is attracted to women. However, as if looking for something in this woman.

"Where do you want me to drop you, Miss?" asked Jonas. He wanted to break the awkward atmosphere that occurred. Jonas knew that at this moment, Natasha felt uncomfortable.

Jonas also didn't understand how Christian had such a big obsession with this woman. Even if he thinks about it, they don't have anything binding.

That night, when Natasha almost committed suicide. Jonas had ensured that there was nothing to do with Natasha and Jonas. Jonas hasn't had time to investigate Natasha, but he can tell because he's been with Christian all along. There's no way that Jonas doesn't know who Christian has a relationship with.

Since that day, they never saw each other again. Christian had asked Jonas to investigate Natasha, but Jonas did not. Instead, he convinced Christian that the woman was not the cause of his heartbeat always beating faster.

"Miss, is it true that we've never met before? Maybe five or six years ago? Or maybe you were a schoolmate of mine in the past?" he asked. He was still curious about this woman. His hand was holding his right chest.

"Chris, is your heart okay? Are you sick?" Jonas is more concerned with Christian's health commission than finding out the strangeness of this woman in Christian's eyes.

"I'm fine. I just want to ensure this Lady," said Cristian. "Please answer my question honestly."

Natasha looks at Christian. For the first time in her life, she saw a rich and handsome man at very close range.

"I never knew you, Sir. Please don't make it up," answered Natasha. "I am sorry."

"Then why does my heart always flutter when I see you?" Christian asks another question.

"I do not know." Natasha expected it. She really didn't know. "You should have that checked by a doctor. Why are you bothering me? If something happened to your heart, it would be ridiculous if you said it was because of me."

Christian looks down with a sigh. It feels really bad in this condition. He didn't feel any physical pain but felt tight whenever he saw Natasha.

In less than thirty minutes, they arrived at the hospital. Jonas did not accompany Natasha to her house but took the girl with them.

"Why should I also go to the hospital?" asked Natasha when they arrived at one of the Cardiology rooms. Doctor Nick Brown is in this room. And Jonas has already arranged a schedule for Christian's regular check-ups every month.

"Just wait here," Jonas said. He asked Natasha to sit in front of the room with him. Meanwhile, Christian enters the doctor's office.

Natasha was confused. It feels like this afternoon, Natasha slapped Christian on the cheek for carelessly kissing her, but now she's with them.

"I'm with a foreign man. More precisely, I'm taking a foreign man to check himself," Natasha muttered. The girl sat on an available chair at the front of the room.

Jonas watched Natasha. He didn't want to disturb Natasha, but if Christian did, Jonas couldn't do anything. His position is only as an assistant. He also has a great debt of gratitude to the Gibson family. So Jonas should have devoted his life to this family.

"I'm sorry for Christian, Miss. There was a bit of an oversight. Do you remember what happened five years ago at the hospital?" asked Jonas.

Natasha blinked several times. Her eyebrows rose. It means she doesn't remember. "Five years ago?" Natasha muttered.

"Do you remember when we met on the rooftop of the hospital? At that time, you were in a mess, and you…." Jonas felt bad about mentioning suicide to this woman.

She smiled. She turned and looked at Jonas. "You are very kind. Yes, we met then. You saved me from my stupid act," said Natasha.

"I was with Christian then. He's the one who asked you not to jump that night…."

"Wait a minute!" Natasha suddenly interrupted. "I don't remember your boss that night. I really don't remember. I only remember you, Sir…." Natasha didn't know what to call Jonas.

"My name is Jonas Peterson. You can call me Jonas. And you…."

"Natasha Collins."

"Okay, I'll call you Miss Natasha. So here it is. That night Christian and I were at the hospital. Christian was out at night because he was bored in his room, and we accidentally saw you. He was just recovering from a heart transplant."

Natasha was very surprised by Jonas's words. "Heart transplant? The man? Oh, poor man," said Natasha.

"Yes, he had a heart defect since he was a child and only found a donor after he was twenty-five. It was like a miracle. But that's not what I'm trying to say. Chris saw you that night, and his heart beat faster when he saw you. He passed out then."

"Are you sure it's because of me? I didn't know your boss, anyway. I never knew a rich man like him." Natasha again denies it.

"I thought so too. I thought it was due to the effects of the surgery. But a few days later, he saw you walking down the street alone. He felt the same way. Then this morning, when you met him. He also felt his heart beating very fast. Until he did this rude to you. I want to say that this is not because Cristian wants to harass you. He experienced this strange thing. And I want you to understand it," said Jonas.

Natasha was silent for a few moments. She nodded as if she understood Jonas' words.

"How much do you make as his assistant, Mr. Jonas?" she asked.

"What?" Jonas was surprised by the question asked by Natasha. "Why do you ask?"

"I just want to know how much your salary is that you would lie for your boss. Do you think I will believe what you say? What kind of nonsense is this?"

Jonas closed his eyes. He understands why Natasha didn't believe him. He had told the truth.

"Why do you say that, Miss? I'm not lying. Christian is indeed..."

"Fine. Pretend that I believe your boss is sick, but about his heartbeat. Does that make any sense? Do rich people always think a poor girl like me is a stupid woman? You just have to say your boss wants to have sex with me. Don't use a sick heart to seduce me!"

Natasha didn't want to be lied to like this. She quickly stood up. "You'd better find some other reason, Sir!"

"Miss, I'm not lying…." Jonas found this ridiculous, but he wasn't lying.
