Chapter 1 - Chapter One

"Alright you can stay this time, don't make a mess. Be a good girl and no strangers allowed." Long nails moved through soft black fur scratching behind pointed ears,, a soft smile lifted pink lips. A large Black German Shepard barked happily her tail wagging with excitement as she ran into the house with a leap, an a push of large paws. The door slammed shut, checking for her keys she sighed relieved Knight always slammed the door shut behind her it had become a habit to lock the door.

So when Knight slammed the door shut no one could enter without permission. Tomorrow would be Knight's first birthday she needed to get her a few treats and some rope toys which were Knight's fav. Walking down the street she put her skull candies in and jammed as she walked to the pet store. She needed to get out, to get a good stretch walk in today fresh air being a bonus.

The clouds rolled in slowly with a soft Grey, the smell of rain filled the air taking in a deep breath. Her favorite season of the year fall, the Halloween decorations where up everywhere through the neighborhood.

Sending a reminder to herself she needed to get candy for the children. There hadn't been a whole lot of popcorn ball selections so she would have to accept the second best, apples, and candy bars. Maybe even some needs and twizzlers of all flavors the candy was low in calories. Kids without candy on Halloween that would be a nightmare especially for the children in her neighborhood.

Walking down the street she turned to see a familiar car, a large physically fit man had been leaning back against a black 2021 mustang with a touch of chrome.

She knew the car well, that would be Gem's boyfriend of three years they called him 'Sport.' She shrugged her shoulders at his nickname, an excellent athletic Champion of basketball and kick boxing. He even had some martial arts training, always working out and achieving his daily goals. She had went to school with Gem four years ago, from elementary to high school.

They had been great friends until Gem found a new interest, men. Sport had moved to the neighborhood about a year ago, still new to the area though he had multiple scholarships for his first two years. He's college paid for through sponsorships and other sources. Many thought he choose the college because of Gem and the very envious, heated relationship, they had. She could remember many of her classmates whispering about the two. Tossing her black hair over her shoulder, she shrugged her shoulders again. She had just been happy for her friend on meeting a planned goal reaching gentlemen, though at times he didn't look much like a gentlemen. He worked hard having had just paid off his car, with a very high paying job to cover all his other needs. She smiled remembering the phone call,

"Hey Sunshine I just paid my car off, you wanna go hang at a nearby restaurant to celebrate, your choice. If your concerned Gem, said it would be alright she has an exam tomorrow. She won't be coming, you alright with that?"

"Sure Trinket I would love to, what time? The meals on me, as a gift to you for a job well done. What time?" Winter responded back proudly.

"How about five O'clock sharp I'll be ten minutes early. You ready to kick it?" Sport responded confidently.

"Five o'clock sharp, yet ten minutes early?" Winter laughed softly. She heard his gasp on the other end with a sudden silence. She frowned slightly as she looked at her cellphone to make sure they where still connected when she heard him sigh,

"I know how to impress, so it's a deal?" Sport confirmed with a touch of enjoyment in his voice. Winter laughed softly happy to hear her friend's excitement.

"Sure, always trying to impress, with that kind of motivation you'll make it to the playoffs."

"Yeah, see you tonight." Sport chuckled. When Winter heard the call end, her eyes looked ahead as she noticed a large moving van in Gem's driveway. So wrapped up in memories she hadn't caught the moving van filled to the brim. As a young woman closed the slide door with a good hard pull. Shocked by the woman's appearance she lifted her brow. That's not Gem hmm...The woman is quite stunning to look at a perfect hour glass figure with a six pack and narrow hips. Her legs built lean, her ankles small as the nickies gleamed a bright yellow and blue. She wore sports gear of tights with a baggy off the shoulder muscle top. Her hair was a soft blue with green tips tightened in a half bun as the rest of her long hair fell over her left shoulder. She had to admit the middle aged woman was a stunning fit beauty.

Looking down at her phone she changed the song, taking another quick look. When she seen Gem hugging her mother through the livingroom window. The scene was, very touching a warm smile touched her lips as she kept walking to the pet store turning a left on the next block.

Knight would begin to become restless if she didn't hurry and get home after shopping, picking up her pace. She headed directly towards the pet store disappearing in the cover of shadowed trees.
