The story of the Ancient Dragon differed since everyone interpreted it following their desires and convenience, not sparing a moment to find out the truth. Thus, until now no one knows the reason as to why that happened a 1000 years ago.
Adriana learnt of her ancestry by chance. She divorced the Duke when her daughter was 10 years old. She wanted to take her away with her but thinking that the child would suffer with her, she let her stay as the Duke's daughter.
And according to the contract they made after their divorce, as long as she never contacted her child, her child would be given the proper care and everything entitled to her, that she didn't receive because of her presence.
Seeing the contract at first, Adriana scoffed at her ex-husband's audacity. She did everything for him and the people of his fief, but the credit was given to that snake of a woman.
Adriana knew rather well that what existed between those two was not love or lust but something else that she could never understand.
That woman could control him with just a few words and he would obey them like a servant. But he was a Duke and she an illegitimate daughter of a Baron of unknown origin.
But the man despite all of his actions against her, he was surprisingly a person who kept his word. When she was still the Duchess in name, her child was ignored and didn't get the treatment deserved of her status.
But she couldn't fight for it because she signed another contract when her consciousness was muddled that she would never oppose him.
This happened just before she realised she was pregnant and when they were still in a good relationship. But after the accidental signing of the contract, his behaviour abruptly changed.
It was after this day that all hell broke loose for Adriana. Her maternal family was suddenly slaughtered leaving not even a child alive. It was literally a massacre, anyone who saw the scene couldn't leave without puking their stomach out.
The scene was horrendous, the place smell of rotten flesh, blood and vomit and was littered with corpses of all ages and generation dragged out from wherever they were before. The scene showed signs that the victims were alive but injured and bleeding when they were dragged into the hall of the mansion.
But what registered in her eyes was the way everyone was killed was uniform as if it was some kind of ritual. She was traumatised because the massacre occurred the day her mother went to visit her maternal family.
Seeing her mother's corpse along with her relatives, she felt a rage and bloodthirst flowing through her whole body. She felt like tearing apart whoever was behind this and her hostility even extended to those trying to ruin her family's reputation.
But, in her rage she couldn't see reason and almost fought with the person who spewed derisive comments about her family. If she hadn't held on to the last string of her rationality, she herself might have started a massacre.
When she finally regained her rationality, she became afraid of herself. And already knew she was different from normal humans but the moment she almost lost her rationality the only thing she heard was, ' kill them.... kill these insignificant beings... kill.'
'Kill' this word scared her so much that she shut herself in for a month barely eating her fill. More than the death of her family she was more fearful of her own condition.
She was scared that she might hurt someone that fear was so strong that she forgot about the massacre, she remembered none of it. And no one reminded her of it.
Clara, Jessy and Emma tried their best to get their mistress come out of her distress but she never responded. And almost after a month she collapsed from exhaustion.
It was then she learnt from the doctor that she was pregnant. Thus to forget about her desire to kill she concentrated all her heart and attention on the child, forgetting about everyone but the child.
