ALLISON'S POV:
As I looked up, I saw a magnificent and a breathtaking architecture. The King Allen High School of Arts and Literature is Louisiana's one of the most popular and academically excellent school in which people actually strive to get in on scholarships because the fees is not at all affordable for the students belonging to families like mine. The school comprised a mixture of huge modern glass, weathering steel and smooth concrete buildings constructed all over the landscape. The buildings have a majestic parkland in front of them which featured hiking and biking trails and a Japanese garden. The greenery was vibrant and impressive enough for me to stand there and adore it. The glass over the buildings were transparent and I could clearly see students walking around in the hallways. It looked like a modern style palace. As I looked at my extreme right, I saw a large ground where students were playing football and some girls cheering for them and on the extreme left, I saw a building which was mentioned as the Auditorium hall. To the left side of the main building was a beautiful glass building which was mentioned as The Pool and the building was interconnected with the main building with a glass skyway bridge. It was mesmerizing to see such a classy and elegant architecture and I couldn't help myself but stare at it with my jaw dropped down. As I looked at the front, I saw two paths. The one of the right was for the ones who were going to walk through the long path towards the main building while the left one was for those who would park their cars and then walk a small path to the building.
"God… This is such a long walk" I said and looked at the main building. As I kept looking, I heard a horn. I turned around and saw a car.
The man on the driving seat was wearing a white uniform which indicated that he was the driver. He rolled down the window and moved his face out to say to me, "Excuse me? Please take a side"
I got embarrassed and immediately walked towards the right to take that path where I noticed no one except me was going to walk towards the building. I gulped and took a deep breath and started walking. After walking for five to six minutes, I reached the school building. As instructed in the email, I had to go to the administration office for the admission procedures before entering the classrooms. As I looked up, I saw a large banner which showed that it was the orientation day.
"The freshers must be here then" I said and looked around to see if I could identify any freshers.
"How will I know?" I whispered to myself and kept looking around when two girls who were over-dressed passed by me while looking at me from up to down. I got uneasy and couldn't figure out if I should enter the building or not because I assumed the administration block must have another building for it. I saw a girl standing in the corner, leaning to a pillar and reading a book.
I walked towards her and started, "Um, hey, excuse me"
She looked at me and moved her book down. "Yes?" She asked confidently.
"Um… Can you tell me where the administration office is?" I asked her hesitantly.
"New here?" She asked me while looking down upon me.
"Um, yeah" I said.
"Fresher?" She asked again.
"Um no… I ah… I am a transferred student. Senior year" I said to her.
She nodded and then stood straight to add, "Keep walking towards the right and after two buildings the third one is the administration block"
"Oh okay" I looked at the right and added with a smile, "Thanks a lot"
She rolled her eyes and then walked away from there as if I said something offensive. I started walking towards the right and finally crossing two buildings, I reached the administration block. I went in and walked straight while looking at either sides to see if Admission office was there.
A guy was passing by and I immediately said, "Um, excuse me?"
He stopped and turned to me, letting me notice his appearance. The highlighting feature was his chocolate brown hair which was long, silky and wavy dropping to his shoulders with brown eyes and warm ivory skin color complementing his hair well. I looked down upon him and noticed his outfit. It was ripped distressed jeans and he paired it with a bottle green hoodie.
"Hello, Sheila…?" He snapped his fingers in front of me and continued, "What?"
I looked at him in confusion and said, "Um, no… I am not Sheila. I am…" I wanted to introduce myself.
"God…" He said and frustration and added, "Ask the damn question… Why did you stop me?"
"Yeah um…" I rubbed my forehead and continued, "I wanted to ask you that um… where the admission office is?"
He took a good look at me making me uncomfortable and then added, "You new here? Fresher?"
"No, um… Senior year, transferred student" I replied and smiled.
"Whatever… Go straight and the third room on the left is the admission room" He said arrogantly and walked away before I could thank him.
"He didn't even let me thank him" I said resentfully. "That girl was still better" I whispered and moved ahead to go towards the admission office.
I knocked on the door but no one answered. I knocked again and this time louder and someone's voice came from the inside.
"Wait, wait… Don't come in…" The man sounded quite anxious. I immediately moved back and waited till the person let me in. After a minute or two, the door opened and a blonde girl in a suit came out of the room while wiping her lips. She looked at me from up to down and then walked away immediately while I kept looking at her in confusion.
"What just happened?" I whispered while looking at her with a nauseous face.
"Yes? Come in…" The man said from the inside and I walked in. The first thing I noticed was the man having red marks over his lips and he kept wiping his face in front of me with his handkerchief. At first I couldn't figure out what happened in that room but later I realized that they were definitely doing something fishy in there, maybe kissing or more than that but I ignored the thing and decided to go with my matter.
"Um, hello…" I started and break the awkwardness.
"Yes?" He got alert.
"I am Allison Taylor, um the transferred student from St. Teresa high school. I was called her today at 9 pm…" I stated the whole thing.
"Oh yes…" The man said. "I am Henry Smith, hello" He added and I smiled.
"Let me see your documents" He said and straightened out his hand to have my documents. I quickly placed my file in his hands and he started checking it.
After a while of doing something on his laptop, he added, "You are good to go"
"And um where am I supposed to go…?" I asked him and smiled.
"To Mr. Roman Harris, your preceptor, that means your instructor" He said and I nodded.
"Okay, I get it… And where will I find him?" I asked him.
"I have no idea. Maybe in his room or in the cafeteria… You can ask the students, they will guide you" He said and smiled. Yeah as if they will! I said in my mind.
"Yeah sure, thanks" I said and smiled. After grabbing my documents, I came out of the admission room and started walking while keeping my documents into the bad when I collided with someone.
"Oh, sorry" I said immediately.
"Excuse me?" The girl said. She was wearing a blue check mini skirt and paired it with a white shirt of big lantern sleeves. She was wearing sling back peep toe heels which looked opulent. It was a gorgeous outfit to be honest but her reaction was quite ugly.
"I am sorry…" I repeated.
"I don't care. You look and walk…" She said sharply and then looked down upon me making me conscious.
"Stay away…" She said pointing her fingers at me and then walked away from there while I kept looking at her, expressionless. I couldn't get those people or their rudeness.
"What's with the staring though?" I whispered. "Why is everyone looking at me from up to down?" I whispered again in frustration while looking at my clothes and then sighed and walked away.
