Chapter 54 - CHAPTER 54

ONE HOUR LATER

'Where am I? What am I doing here?'

These were the questions that she found asking herself as she sat in a fancy restaurant, something that she didn't plan on doing when she left the house earlier that morning.

Sitting with her, just opposite her, was the man, the one that had made her heart flutter just one hour ago.

To think that she would find herself having that breakfast she missed at the palace and was having it with such a hot man in turn, she found her decision to eat later to be the greatest decision she made that day.

Diamond was not the type of girl that would recklessly fall for someone. After what her second-rich-generation ex-boyfriend did to her, she vowed to never act recklessly again.

She even planned on securing her future first and making a name for herself before thinking of finding someone to date.

To her, dating and marrying were completely different things, as the person she might date today might not be the one that she gets married to in the future.

If she were to say honestly that she had fallen head over heels at first sight with the man seated in front of her helping her to cut the Vienna's as if she didn't have hands right now, that would be a lie.

There was a difference between love and lust, and what she was feeling for that man was definitely lust.

Men with that kind of face were the most dangerous. How many women were already wooing him? She didn't want to get hurt, but as someone who hadn't satisfied her flesh for years, she didn't mind rolling onto the sheets with him, even if he was taken.

It was going to be a passing thing and wouldn't feel bad about it. However, if she were to let him just go like that without getting anything, she was absolutely sure that she would regret it in the future. And regrets weren't what she was looking for.

Besides, if he was taken, he wouldn't be sitting with her right now. The two of them were too catchy and thinking of how he confidently asked her for a meal. There was no way he was taken.

She wasn't sure, but for the moment; she was going to enjoy herself and think more later.

Honestly, he didn't know where he got his courage from. He was very sure that he was going to leave without saying anything to her or even getting closer to her.

Kian was that uncomfortable around women and yet what happened was the total opposite.

When he spotted her, he couldn't help but look at her from afar. Charlie, who was with him, suddenly spotted something he was interested in leaving Kian by himself.

And the more he stood there watching from afar, the more frustrated he became, especially after overhearing some leering comments regarding her.

There were so many opportunistic men in the world and there was no way he was going to allow such people to approach the woman he had set his eyes on.

So, gathering all the courage he could muster, he found himself making his way towards her and it just flowed smoothly from that.

And he was very glad that he mustered up his courage, otherwise, his handsome face would have gone to waste.

And what made him very happy was how she didn't seem to recognize or know him at all. He didn't want the woman of his life to mistake him for his twin brother.

That would be a bother. Although it was certain that in the future if it went well and even if it didn't, the two were going to meet. He still wanted her to know him first.

Just thinking about the future, he didn't know if what he was doing was okay, but for another time in his life, he just wanted to be selfish and follow his heart.

He smoothly finished slicing the Vienna's even though it was a simple job, but he just wanted to appear more gentlemanly to her and, thankfully, she seemed to be enjoying the process.

And Diamond was indeed enjoying every single part of it.

Apart from her parents, no other person had done that for her. She had only dated one boy, and he shattered her heart into pieces.

And since he was rich and pompous; he never gave her that princess treatment she expected. It was her shamelessness that made her preserve until her heart was completely broken.

And to find someone who at the first meeting was kind enough to do that for her, she found the whole scenario romantic.

And the more she looked at him, the more she began to notice that he must not be as confident as he had shown himself before.

It was the small actions that most people would neglect, but he seemed to be a bit shy now that they were together and avoided looking at her.

And when he took her plate from her, she noticed that he seemed to look relieved and he wasn't a talker. So, she got to look at him more closely than she did before.

If she hadn't been looking at this, she would have thought that he must have done something like that many times, but now her delusional side that saw all that was hoping greatly that it wasn't that way.

At least that way she won't be getting herself into trouble by lusting for a man who would break her heart in the future

The heart was fragile, and it was easy to fall and fall out. She might not want to fall, but it wasn't guaranteed that things might follow the path she had picked.

Besides, as someone who vowed to bring several sons-in-law for her parents, there was no way she was going to let herself be easily swayed by one man.

She was going to gather them up and the one in front of her was a good choice, though she wasn't sure that he was the type that would easily agree to be in such a relationship.

Was she even going to succeed in forming her harem at all?

She now wasn't sure.

'Let's take it one day at a time!'
