Chapter 55 - CHAPTER 55

Looking at the man sitting in front of her as she ate, Diamond felt that her day had started on a good path.

"So, Kian, where do you live?" Diamond asked since she wanted to know more about the man, she had found an interest in.

The two of them were speaking more on an informal level since they had both introduced their name to each other some time ago. So, their conversation starting point was better compared to starting from scratch.

Feeling a bit more relaxed with her, Kian who didn't want to let the chance he had boldly received raised his head so that he was looking at her as he answered and said, "I am from Belmore but I currently live in Iwarim."

Hearing that answer, she couldn't help but look at Kian closely, her mind wondering how such a fine man was living in the countryside.

She had never been to Iwarim city before but if one googled that place, the first thing one would see were the beautiful fields, farms, livestock, and huge mansions.

It was that kind of place one would live like a cowboy and get to live side by side with nature.

Not only was it peaceful, but it was a place that most youths like her would avoid.

She hated farming with all her heart. She wouldn't do it personally at all. After all, before moving to Taco, they once stayed in her home village and life there wasn't the best.

However, watching others farm was not a big deal, and this made her curious.

Was he in the same business as her?

But he didn't look like the kind that would be a farmer.

So, what was he doing there?

"What about you, my lady?" Kian asked and his way of address made her smile, brushing aside her assumptions.

It sounded a bit romantic for him to call her like that. He had been doing that from the moment they got to know each other, despite her telling him her name.

Although she had gotten relaxed and comfortable and started calling him by name, he had been doing that.

Instead of correcting it, she decided to enjoy the moment. And let herself enjoy once being called like an aristocrat or royalty.

"Umm, for me…. umm, I stay in Frin but originally from Taco. It's a small town but a very nice one," Diamond decided to be honest as she answered the man.

Kian smiled happily as he received the answer. Although he already knew the answer to the question, he just wanted to be sure that he wasn't lying to her.

Lies and deceit are very dangerous to a relationship. Although he wasn't a truthful person and definitely hid more than he let on, he still wanted the basics to be at least true.

"That's quite close from here," Kian said as he twirled the glass of juice while looking at her.

"It is indeed close. So, Kian, what do you do for a living?" Diamond asked. She had been curious to ask about it ever since she learned of the place where Kian was staying.

Looking at her, he began to wonder. Which answer should he give her? He couldn't possibly tell her his real job, right?

What if she flees upon hearing that?

Settling the glass at the table, as he lowered his head an answer began to formulate in his head.

Raising his head once more, he looked at her and answered without exposing much, "I am an IT expert, self-employed, and do gigs for a living," as this was the best, he could say to reveal the kind of job that he was good at.

Hearing that, Diamond's eyes lit up. For her, people that relied more on their own were awesome. For they didn't need to tolerate their bosses, who sometimes were very hard to deal with.

She suffered so much working for others and was finally at ease now that she was the boss and had people working for her.

Besides, the IT industry was a good one, and with more experience and a wide network of people, it was easy to get customers.

"That's a good one you have there. I thought that you were a farmer when you mentioned Iwarim before," Diamond chuckled lightly as she looked at the man.

She wasn't expecting him to say something completely different from what he just said.

Hearing that, Kian thought that she was somehow cute. After all, knowing the kind of business she owned, he could understand why she was thinking about it in that way.

"No, I am not. As much as it would be nice to venture into farming, I don't have much talent in it. I love that place for its quietness," he didn't mind stating the real reason why he was staying in that area. After all, that was the truth.

"Farming is indeed a hard thing, and that's what I am into. Though at the moment, I am doing more poultry than anything else," with an open door, Diamond managed to tell the other what her job was.

Kain nodded his head with appreciation and acknowledgement for once again, she had proved herself to be a truthful person.

"I bet that business is good!" he teased as he ate.

With a smile on her face, she responded cheerfully, "I am getting there."

Although she wanted to get into the man's trousers, she wasn't that willing to divulge everything on the first date or meeting. So, leaving it at that was good as well.

The two ate happily while chatting more than the way they did when they started.

After a hearty breakfast, the two attractive people walking side by side attracted a lot of attention and the people involved were simply too concerned with one another.

"So, what are you doing all the way here in Srad?" as if he wasn't aware of the reason, he asked as they walked.

Without knowing anything, Diamond, who was happy to have someone to talk to who was attractive and just her type, answered truthfully, "I am here for a school reunion."

"Oh, that! It's been ages since I attended one," Kian said as he reminisced.

"Same here. It's been a while for me too. I wonder how much people have changed in this period?" she couldn't help but voice out her thoughts.

Turning to look at her, Kian noticed that her expression didn't seem right, and, seeing that, he knew that there was something wrong he couldn't help but be curious and ask, "Is it allowed to bring someone else with you?"

Hearing that, she turned to face the man with surprise in her eyes, wondering where that was coming from.
