~SCREEEECH~
'HURTS, IT HURTS,DO SOMETHING!' screamed telepathically the male while screeching audibly
'I, I, I don't know, molting maybe helps' she answered nervously
So without anything else to do he lunged at the corpse and started eating manically.
When he started molting only the backbone, the tail and the hind legs were left.
The molting process ended only after when the sun was half way through disappearing beyond the horizon, reason being the tremendous injuries he sustained during the fight.
Eating the leftover bones he felt lethargic and sluggish, maybe lack of sleep or exhaustion from the healing but he suggested to stay the night here and continue the journey tomorrow and she agreed.
The next morning they took the time relax a little and let the happenings of yesterdays near death experience.
'The thing... Saw me, I, the darkness, it was deep, how?' he contemplated
'I think you glowed; even I noticed, from the other side, so the thing definitely noticed' she said
'Why though?' he asked
'Why what?' she asked back
'Why did I glowed, and didn't notice?'
'Hmmm... I, think your eyes glowed, and the glow wasn't strong' she answered
'Hmm, maybe; maybe the scratches' he pondered out loud
'The scratches what?' she asked curiously for the thought process
'After the scratches, we changed, maybe now we glow?' he thought 'But I don't glow now, right?'
'No... hmm... maybe, thought of attacking, or killing makes the glow? Or strong thoughts?' she analyzed
'Hey, your eyes glow, now, what are you doing?' he exclaimed fast
'Thinking... but, I , I am always thinking?' she analyzed further
~Krkrkrrr~
'This is hard, let's go eat.' he gave up
'Yes'

While traveling in search of food the male noticed that the female still had glowing eyes.
'Your eyes glow'
'Maybe, I need to think hard? Like right now?' she answered
'Maybe, but from now, let's hunt in light' he answered
'Good idea'

With the male taking the lead, they got further deep in to the forest for hours without find anything on surface level or hole for potential nests.
'DODGE, quickly!' she warned, a bird of considerable size, close to yesterdays wolf came swooping in at fast speed from the right targeting the male!
The male out of reflex accelerated, narrowly dodging. When he turned around there it was a large bird with bright blue wings and back, light grey under belly and black beak swooping from the left for a second attempt at the juicy centipede.
But the male got emboldened since yesterday, so he tried to dodge the talons, that where aiming for his center of gravity, by slightly scooting out of the way simultaneously contracting for a jumping counterattack. But, unfortunately, he missed the timing and missed the bird completely, though he still dodged the swoop.
While all of this is happening the female wasn't idle and made an attack of her own at the right timing to get a strong mandible pincer on the middle of the right wing poisoning it a little.
The bird seemingly fine got a bit of altitude and started circling the to centipedes, looking for the opportune moment of attack.
Turns out it wasn't fine from the bite, the wing stated feeling numb, so it tried to go for a tree to perch on and assess the situation.
