Chapter 1 - Chapter one

"Ugh... my head hurts." Yasmin groans, making a frown. She went to reach for her glasses on the nightstand but her hand landed right back beside her.

"Huh?"

Yasmin opened her eyes and was caught off guard from the sudden darkness. The sound of chains clinking could be heard whenever she made a move.

'What the hell...was there an outage or something? Why do my wrists feel so heavy and what's making that sound?'

[Notice.]

Yasmin flinched violently when an animated voice suddenly spoke in her head.

[You have successfully entered the world of 'The Way To A Man's Heart is With A Knife'.]

[Welcome, dear creator]

"W-what is going on? The Way To- wait?! Isn't that my book?" Yasmin's eyes went wide, the gears in her head started spinning.

"What?! I'm in my book?!"

[Affirmative.]

"How...how, how did I even get here? I'm I dreaming?" She thought while pinching herself.

[I can assure you that you are very much awake.]

Yasmin was beyond confused, she kept thinking that this was a dream, a lucid dream. That would explain why everything felt so real but, Yasmin wasn't one to dream and if she did, why would she have a lucid dream about this anyways when she could dream about an unlimited collection of plushies. This just didn't add up and then there was that strange voice.

"Who are you anyways?"

[I am the one who foresees all, the one who knows and the one who tells, I am here at the beginning and at the end, I. Am. The. Narrator.]

For a moment Yasmin forgot her situation, she blinked twice, "...wasn't that a little dramatic."

[...]

"How did I get here anyways?" Yasmin asks in her mind while trying to brainstorm the situation.

[The overwhelming grievances of your readers is the reason you're here.]

'The overwhelming grievances of my readers...?' Yasmin's eyebrows furrowed as she was deep in thought. She tried to remember what happened before ending up here.

***

[Dear author why must you be so cruel]

[Author! I want money for my mental health!]

[Author, you slimy bitch how could you end it like that?!]

[Surely this person was a devil in their last life]

[My heart can't take anymore, author give me back my happiness]

Yasmin looked grim as she scrolled through all of her reader's comments.

"Those little shits... as soon as the story starts getting intense everyone starts to complain." The more she read the darker her face became, anger started to cloud her mind and she let that be the fuel to write back a comment.

[Not all stories are fairy tales and happy endings. Do you think this is a children's book, please grow up.]

Immediately after posting that, the comment section blew up. Many cursed while others expressed their displeasures and some agreed with what she said.

[Why don't you become a character of the book and see how it feels!]

After reading that last comment Yasmin 'tsk' before shutting off her PC and going straight to bed, when she woke up she was trapped in this situation.

"So, you're telling me I'm trapped here because of my immature readers feelings?"

[Yeah pretty much]

"When can I leave?"

[When the book is finished]

Yasmin's eyes went wide.

"You're joking... this book has more than 200 chapters!" She exclaims out loud. Yasmin closed her eyes as she rubbed the spot between her eyebrows.

She sighed, "Which chapter are we currently at?" As a writer, she had read other writer's book either for fun or inspiration. A couple of those books were also about transmigration. Based on what she's read, the main character always transmigrate in the middle or a couple chapters from the beginning. Maybe that was also the case

...or so she thought.

[Chapter one]

The narrator said and Yasmin felt as if she was hit with an arrow in the head. She felt an irritating wave of anger burning under her skin, "Those selfish bastards," Yasmin sneered, she tried her best not to grind her teeth to bits, "If they wanted to change it, why not go do it themselves? Why send me?!"

Yasmin breathed harshly and could feel her heart beating through her chest. 'I need to calm down... being angry won't solve anything'. She took a few deep breaths until she felt her heart calming, she wanted to observe her surroundings but her vision was blurry, she had left her glasses back on her night stand in the real world.

"Hey narrator, do you think its possible for me to get back my glasses?" She asked in her mind.

[Check your bosom]

'My what now?' Yasmin felt around at her chest and surely she found a pair of glasses.

"Couldn't you have put them in my pocket or something?" She ask while putting them on.

[You don't have any.]

Yasmin glance down at her attire in the dim lighting and discovered that she indeed didn't have any pockets. She wore a plain green dress that was ragged at the hems and had a V line cut culler that exposed her chest and bosoms. 'talk about public indecency...' Yasmin thought with a slight frown. She tried to adjust her dress but, when she moved her arms she felt a slight resistance. Looking down, she saw that her hands were in handcuffs that were attached to big heavy chains and nailed against the wall.

"So that's why my hands felt so heavy..." Yasmin looked around and saw that she was in a jail cell. The place was dimly lit with a rancid smell and the only source of light was the lanterns hanging on the walls of each cell. Yasmin discovered that it was only her hands chained and tried to stand, she felt weak in her knees and immediately plopped back down. Sighing, she crawled over to the cell entrance as far as the chains would let her. it wasn't enough to where she was directly at the entrance but enough to where she could see outside clearly.

It turns out she wasn't the only prisoner there, other people could be seen a couple cells down from hers and across. 'This is chapter one... what happened in chapter one again? it's been so long since I've started writing this book, I can't remember what happened in these early chapters.'

[Notice.]

[The story will now officially begin.]

[You are now officially a character of the book… act accordingly.]

The sounds of footsteps could be heard as a group of men walked down the halls. They made a stop in front of every few cells, releasing each prisoner as they go. They soon reached Yasmin's cell and one of the guards banged on the cell to gain her attention. Yasmin had crawled to the back of the cell when she'd heard the Narrator's notification, the bang on the cell alerted her and she snapped her head up in the direction of the sound. The sound of jingling keys was heard as the guard opened the cell. He stepped in and walked straight over to Yasmin opening the locks on her wrist. Yasmin didn't dare to move because she feared being hit. The guard didn't do anything more after that, he walked back out of the cell and gestured for her to follow.

Yasmin followed without hesitation- to her this was nothing but a fictional book and she didn't think it was real.

'That's right, this isn't a big deal. It's just like reading a book, but in first person point of view. Like playing a VR game...
