Chapter 2 - A Clear Line in Between

A tense silence run through the room. The servants were about to witness the mistress snap at their master.

"Did I hear that right? Syven, you don't have any relatives in England. And the only relative I know of is your elder brother in Germany and he's son is much old than that child." Lady Miku asked as she stared daggers through master Syven.

"Relax Miku. Draven isn't my direct relative however he is still my nephew and Coder at that. Am not saying you be welcome him with open hands in fact you can treat him however you feel like. But don't not miss treat him Miku." Master Syven said those words as he looked directly into his wife's eyes.

No matter strict and fierce lady Miku was, she could never overcome her husband's cold emotionless personality.

"Fine do whatever you want Syven. Give Rina to me, I can't stand this atmosphere and neither can my daughter."

Lady Miku got her daughter from her husband.

"Hey you two maids over there come come here, you two will be Rina's personal attendants from now. Follow me."

"Yes madam" the two maid followed lady Miku behind as they headed to the newly made baby room.

There was an awkward silence that loomed in the room. The servants didn't know how to react after what they just saw.

"Master Syven.... now that young lady Rina has finally arrived in the mansion should I focus my attention to supporting lady Miku in looking after the baby?" Albert asked.

"Miku has already assigned two maids to help her. They should be more than enough help, just keep taking care of Draven as usual." Master Syven answered. "Am tired, so I'll be turning in early today."

"Yes rest well master." Albert and rest of the house staff bowed as master Syven talked away.

As soon as master Syven was out of sight, the servants began gossiping among themselves:

"I felt like I was going to faint from all that intensity"

"Yeah me too. Lady Miku is even more scary now that she's a mom."

"I feel sorry for those two girls who will constantly be around lady Miku."

"But you guys got admitted, master Syven's daughter Rina sure is cute."

"Yeah she's just as cute as Draven when he first came here."

The servants continued gossiping as the headed out the mansion as it was already night time.

Albert had his own room within the mansion so he'd always be available when needed. Unlike Rina who had her own baby room with two personal nannies, Draven had to sleep in Albert's room.

"Did you observe today's events well Draven? I know you're very attentive. That was your new cousin Rina. I hope you two will get along." Albert smiled.

"Let's turn in too shall we?"

The welcoming of Rina had finally ended. But a new chapter in the Coder family had just began.

...

Time flew by fast in the Coder mansion. Before anyone realized five years had already gone by. It was then time for Rina to start attending kindergarten.

Draven was supposed to start school the year before when he turned five-years-old but was made to wait an extra year by his uncle.

In the morning at the Coder mansion, it was Draven and Rina's first day of school.

Sound of little footsteps run through the mansion's hallway. The main dining room swung open:

"Mommy! Daddy! Look at my new school uniform don't I look cute in it?" Rina asked her parents with excitement in her eyes.

Both master Syven and lady Miku were having their breakfast at the dining table.

"Yes you look absolutely adorable Rina isn't that right Syven" lady Miku smiled as she looked at her daughter.

"Indeed you really nice in that uniform. Befitting of a Coder. Now come and eat you breakfast before you get late for you first day."

"Yes daddy" the little girl happily sat with her parents.

In Albert's room, Draven was still getting ready for his first day of school too. Even though Draven didn't want to show it, he was still excited to finally start school.

He wore his new uniform with a smile on his face, something Draven never easy showed. The door opened:

"Draven are you still getting ready? Why do you always take your sweet time when doing things you're not real interested in?" Albert sighed.

"Stop worrying Albert, am done. And I am actually interested in going to school thank you very much." Draven answered with a smile on his face.

"That's good then. Now hurry or you'll be late but before you head to the car master Syven wants to talk to you in his office."

"Uncle Syven wants to talk to me? I wonder why?" Draven wondered.

In mansion's office...

"Knock! knock! knock" the sound of a knock outside the office door.

"Come in" master Syven replied.

Draven walked in.

"You wanted to talk to me uncle Syven? Draven asked.

"Yes..... Draven you and Rina start school today. Even though I placed you in the same grade as her you are still one year older than Rina. Do you know why I enrolled you in the same school as Rina?"

Draven looked confused:

"Was it because Rina and I are cousins and we need to stick together?"

"Wrong..... thats not it. The reason I enrolled you at the same school as her is simply for you to protect Rina. I can't assign guards to constantly guard a kid in kindergarten so am using you. Nothing more nothing less."

Draven was speechless:

"But I thought..."

"You thought wrong boy. I will admit for a six-year-old boy you are very sharp. You pick up on things fast than even some teenagers. Now let me be clear, you only exist to serve me and only me. You have no free will of your own, my will is your will. Do you understand boy?"

"....y-yes uncle Syven."

Draven finally understood why his own uncle treated him like one of the servants ever since he was a baby.

He was simply his Uncle's tool to be used just like Albert and the rest.

He realized the clear line drawn between him and Rina.

"Good now get going. Rina is already outside waiting for you."

"Yes uncle" Draven sadly responded.

Draven left the office sadden by his uncle's words. As he walked down the stairs, Draven tried his best hold back his tears. Outside, Rina was waiting for her cousin:

"Dravy hurry up! I don't wanna be late!" Rina shouted through the car window.

Draven close his eyes and pulled back all his tears. And put on a fake smile:

"Am coming Rina...right behind you."

Draven entered the car and they drove off.
