Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Ben stared in surprise at the teacher who was still in the taxi. Then, his eyes turned to his father who was about to enter the house. Suddenly the boy screamed.

"Father!"

Instantly a well-built man in a police uniform turned around. His eyes widened with a smile. Footsteps away from the main door of the house, and closer to the taxi parked in front of the gate of his house.

"Ben, honey. Did you take a taxi home by yourself?" asked the man as he crouched down in front of his son.

The boy with beautiful eyes shook his head, then his hand reached out to point to someone still sitting worriedly in the taxi. When the father poked his head into the taxi, Emely turned around. Both of them froze.

For a few minutes, they were silent. Everyone's mind went blank with shock until the taxi driver's voice woke him up.

"Excuse me, Miss. So come down?" asked the driver.

Emely was taken aback, and so was the man. He immediately stood up straight and took his son's hand. Meanwhile, the girl took out the money from her pocket and paid the meter stated. He wanted to go straight home, but when he was caught like this, Emely couldn't dodge.

"Thank you, sir," said Emely to the driver, and the taxi left.

Now only the three of them looked awkward. No, but the two adults.

"Emely." The man stared intently at the girl in front of him.

Emily looked back at him. The lake of longing erupted from the two pairs of eyes. Disbelief penetrated the recesses of the heart, questioning the truth of the figure in front of him. A lot has changed, even the burly man's body is getting fuller, it can be seen from the muscles in his arms.

However, Emely still knew that facial line very well. His eyes, nose, and eyebrows are his trademark. She would not forget, because the last time they met was when the man was about to graduate from high school.

"L-Leo?"

The man Emely believed was Leo nodded. Emily's heart trembled until tears almost broke through the slits of her eyes if Emely didn't wipe them immediately. That's right, he's Leo. The man who filled her first days and the first to rule her heart.

He didn't know what to do and how. So does Leo. The man seemed to have found his lost diamond, after being left behind for so long.

Ben who saw the two adults said innocently. "Father, take the teacher in, come on!"

Leo immediately stuttered hearing his son's words. Clumsily, Leo led Emely into his house. However, the girl immediately refused.

"Next time. I have to hurry home," refused Emely.

The girl immediately turned around and walked quickly to block the passing public transport. Leo was about to call Emely, but the girl had already disappeared behind the intersection of the housing complex where Leo lived.

"Finally, we meet again," Leo muttered, staring blankly ahead, then invited his only child to enter.

***

Emely stared dumbly at the open bedroom window. It was late at night, but he didn't want to close his eyes. The image of the day before kept him awake.

It's a pleasure to meet Leo. However, one fact disappointed him. Leo was married and broke his promise to him first. Emely smiled wryly thinking about Leo.

Promise? Of course, Leo would forget about it. Isn't that a childhood promise? How could Leo care and take it seriously? Emily forgot about that.

Once again, the girl smiled wryly.

Today is full of surprises. About Leo, and Mareta. Not to mention the application that is waiting for an answer in a few days.

The beautiful eyes glanced at the clock on the wall. It's 22.30, it's time for Emely to throw all her burdens away. Tomorrow he must look fresh in front of the children.

***

"Emely, come out quickly! There is an important guest!" Mother called from behind the bedroom door.

Emely, who was wearing shoes at that time, frowned. "Visitor?" Monologue while looking at the clock that shows 06.00.

"There are guests this early?" Emily rushed to finish her activities.

The mother who had been calling her made Emely rush. The girl quickly came out.

"What's the matter, ma'am?" Emily asked curiously.

"There's a guest," her mother replied, looking back. However, the face looked worried, rather confused.

"Mom why?" Emely was getting more and more curious about her mother's expression.

Afraid of hearing her guests, Emily's mother whispered something to her son. Emily's eyes widened at the sound of her mother's words.

"Serious?" The mother nodded.

Emely quickly walked towards the living room. How surprised to see two men sitting opposite each other with different gazes. The man in the suit who was none other than William had a straight face, while the man in the police suit stared coldly at the person across from him.

One more thing that made Emily gasp. Next to William was the cute little girl he brought with him yesterday, Clara. Don't forget Ben, right next to Leo.

The four people sitting on the guest sofa had not yet noticed the presence of Emely and her mother. Emily looked shocked and confused. He was about to turn towards the room, but Clara's shout made the crowd turn around.

"That's the teacher!" cried Clara as she stood up.

Emily closed her eyes while biting her lower lip. If that's the case, there's nothing he can do about it. Hesitantly Emely turned around and smiled as friendly as possible.

Emily's mother chose to go to the kitchen and left her child alone to face the four people. With hesitant steps, Emely approached them and sat between the two pairs of humans.

"Um, is there anything I can help you with?" Emely asked William and Leo.

William frowned at Emily's question, while Leo immediately smiled at the girl.

"He said Ben wants to be accompanied by the Teacher. Later, I'll take you," said Leo, formally. He couldn't have suddenly spoken non-formally with Emely. No, after years of not seeing each other.

"I can't. Emely is going to work with me and my daughter, Clara," said William coldly.

Emily blinked several times. Staring at Clara and William who now cast a fierce glare on Leo.

"Child? So, what do you mean by son...."

"Yes, it's Clara. My daughter. Didn't I speak yesterday?" asked William, looking down at Emely.

Emely immediately scowled at William's question. How did he know if William's child was Clara? While the cold man did not mention the name.

"You can't do that, man. I came here first," Leo denied.

"Your car entered the yard first. We came together," said William, not wanting to lose.

"But I invited him first," said Leo.

William raised an eyebrow. "Oh yes? But I have been talking about this since yesterday with Emely," said William, making Leo furious.

Emily's face was pale, she was confused to see the two men arguing. Especially in front of two small children who also looked at the adult man in surprise.

"I have an interest in Emely," Leo said seriously. However, William calmly leaned his back while folding his arms in front of his chest.

"Just say it here, before we leave," said William defiantly.

The policeman clenched his fists, but his face was calm. He had to talk to Emely, that's why Leo came to Emily's house. Fortunately, the address was the same as the last time he parted with Emely.

However, Leo can't say everything in front of other people. Especially in front of that arrogant man. Many things Leo wants to talk about also ask Emely. The beautiful girl who used to decorate his day, or maybe until now.

"I can't. I need some time alone with Emely," Leo denied making William's face stiffen.

The cold man straightened his back with a sharp gaze. As for Emely, her heart was filled with fear. What will happen in that living room? While both are still clean and tense. Then, what will Leo talk about? All of that kept Emely stricken with fear.
