The day has come for the Very first competition as Sam put his armour on the armour stand he had made for himself as he would be fighting in his Wyvern form for the purpose of seeing how each and every member would fight as everyone could use a different method for fighting against a Wyvern
Once Sam had stretched a little he heard the Samantha giggling before he looked inside one of the dojo's to see Sato playing with her while Harry and phill were talking to each other while they looked at Tremor before they noticed tremor turned his head to the entrance before they too looked and saw Sam before they smiled and waved
Sam waved back at them before he heard a loud bang in the other dojo and found Cindys and Jim's team sparring with each other before Sam stomped his foot into the ground loud enough for everyone to stop before he said as he had gained everyone's attention
"Save your strength for the competition after breakfast"
Everyone grumbled and mumbled some curses as they made their way to the cafe with Samantha pulled some carts of her cooking into the great hall and whistled before she screamed at the top of her lungs
"Breakfast time!"
Sam and everyone stood to the side of the hall before they saw Sato and Tremor run out of the dojo along with the other tamed Familiars before they sat in front of Samantha and tried to dig into the food before Sam growled causing them all to sit while Samantha laid out their food before she smile and said as she backed up with a smile
"Eat up everyone! Don't waste a bite or no more meals for you!"
Sam pick Samantha up and made his way to the cafeteria and saw the others were waiting for Sam and Samantha before they started eating and at some point in the meal Sam noticed no one was speaking a word while he saw one or two people shake a little before he put his cup down and said after he clapped his hands to get everybody's attention
"I can see your all nervous about the competition but I just want to say that I'm hoping to see is your best"
However for some reason Sam then saw everyone was even more uncomfortable than before as he said in hopes to lighten their mood
"How about everyone can pick a partner so I test two of you at once however we will have the teams made from when you joined"
Taylor and the others looked confused before she asked
"Does that mean we can only have a partner who has been in the clan just as long as us?"
Sam nodded before everyone cheered in excitement with Sam thought it would be very nice for everyone to have a partner to give them a fighting chance and to see how they can help each other out in a fight
Once everyone had gathered into one of the dojo's Sam started doing some stretches as he said to the others
"Okay everyone get a partner before we start"
Everyone started pairing up and while Sam didn't pay much attention to the teams there was one singular team that made Sam even more excited as Ellen, the first Holy Draconian element user and William, the first dual Element user both were in the same team
Sam smiled as he had hopes that these teams will push him back and said as he looked at everyone
"Okay now that the teams have been made, who will go first?"
Cindy and Jim raised their hands and went to their starting position and grew out their draconian forms before Sam smiled and said as he slowly grew into his Wyvern form
"Rule 1 of the dragon clan is to never believe anything your opponent says"
Cindy, Jim and the others stared in horror as they thought they were going to fight Sam in the form as a Drake but instead they were going to fight him as a Wyvern and in doing so rendered their late night training useless for the competition
Sam started the fight by using his wings to throw Cindy and Jim off balance before Cindy retaliated with a lightning Dragons breath at Sam before Sam used one of his own where he overwhelmed Cindy's blast before he felt a chain on his leg and saw Jim under him holding a chain made of fire that was wrapped around his leg before he started flying and said as he shook Jim off
"Seems you got a good trapping skill but it won't do you any good!"
Sam turned the tides of the battle as Sam had more movement In The air then on the ground when in his Wyvern form
Cindy however had already guessed Sam had something up his sleeve and said as a spear of pure red lightning appeared in her hand
"How do you think you'll fair against this skill I learned after reaching level 30!
Sam's instincts warned him as Cindy threw the red lightning but it missed and went past Sam which lowered his guard as Cindy was a great distance away from him before he felt his entire back barraged by the same red lightning Cindy had thrown but thanks to Sam's resistance the attack did not hurt much before he realized Jim above him with the same red chains of fire he had used before as he used the chains to lock up Sam's wings but was ineffective as Sam shrunk to his humanoid form with his wings and claws and engaged one hand to hand combat with Jim before Cindy flew upwards and joined the fight before Sam wrapped his tail around Jim and threw him into Cindy before he inhaled and shot a fire ball down on both of them before they both fell to the ground unconscious as Sam slowly descended to the ground and said as they were taken away to the healing pools
"I must admit that you have exceeded my expectations and have proven I chose right to make you both team leaders but you still have a long road ahead"
Sam looked at the other teams and said as he saw Cindy and Jim being carried away by Sato
"What team will go next? And don't worry about sustaining any injuries as the healing pools will patch you back up"
One by one each of the teams stepped forward and fought Sam and showed their best as they showed new abilities that had a wide variety such as a whirlpool of magma or a dozen stone golems that could launch boulders the size of houses and even creating illusions that would have confused Sam if it wasn't for his incredible sense of smell and vision when in his Wyvern form
However there was one last team and it was the one Sam had high hopes for as the last team was Ellen and Williams team
Sam waited for everyone to return to witness the final match and said as he saw both Ellen and William were nervous
"Both of you must be nervous so I'll just say this whole competition is just to see the full extent of what you can do"
Ellen looked at William before she said
"Let's do our best ok…ummm Jake was it?"
William looked flabbergasted as he said
"Huh?! You don't know my name?! Even though we've been training with each other for the last few weeks?! It's William and don't you forget it!"
Ellen quickly hid behind Sam and said nervously
"I-I'm S-Sorry! I-I'm n-not g-good w-with r-remembering n-names"
Sam shook his head before he noticed everyone returning to the dojo and said as he got to his starting position
"This will be the finale match before I decide the winners now BEGIN!"
Almost immediately William charged in as Ellen drew back an arrow as Sam took to the skies to avoid Williams attack before he shot a fire ball down on them but was surprised by William who shot a dragons breath with both the Fire and Water elements together in a single blast but this surprising result was ineffective as William had little to no control on its direction before it spiraled out of control and hit him instead of Sam who was his target
Ellen ran over and placed both of her hands on Williams wounds before they glowed a warm golden light as she had begun to heal his injuries and in seconds the wounds were gone before Sam said as he hovered above them in circles
"Looks like you will need training on your dragons breath and it would seem your holy element Ellen is more supportive rather then offensive but we still are in the middle of a match"
William stood up and yelled as his skin started to turn red
"OH SHUT UP! YOU'VE BEEN TRAINING US TO THE BONE AND FOR WHAT!? BACK HOME I BET OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES ARE DEAD"
Sam was surprised by this sudden anger and wondered why he was so angry before he must've thought something was wrong before he saw closely that William looked less like a human and more like an actual Draconic creature as his instincts warned him to stop him in his tracks before things get worse
Sam used his wings to throw William off balance before he yelled at he pinned William down under his foot
"Everyone stand back! He's lost control and I must fix it! So do not interfere!"
Everyone then backed away as William managed to free himself after some great struggle before he shot out another mixed element dragons breath and narrowly missed Sam before Sam realized the blast was heading directly for the others and was about to try and block the blast before the Olson brothers rode on the back of tremor who was equipped with a dragon saddle covered with armour plates and said as tremor blocked the dual element blast with ease
"We have arrived! Don't worry about us master and bring William back!"
Sam smiled and turned his attention to William and saw dozens of floating swords made of water and fire around him before Sam saw that William was crying as he walked towards Sam saying as his draconian form grew more powerful than ever before
"EACH PASSING MOMENT WE STAY HERE TRAINING THE MORE LIKELY OUR HOME HAS BEEN DESTROYED! YET YOUR TO SCARED TO ACT! AHHHH!"
The others were nearly overwhelmed by Williams rage and agony while Sam simply thought it was like a child throwing a tantrum as he focused his mind on 3 of the five Draconian Elements as if a thunderstorm,a forest fire and a hurricane happened all at once before Sam inhaled and released a dragons breath so devastating that nearly half of the dragon temple was destroyed while William laid out on the ground unconscious before Sam picked him up and said as the Dragon temple started to repair itself
"Seems I'll have to train you a little harder to find your balance"
Cindy asked as she and the others cleared a path for Sam
"Master is he alright? What happened?"
Sam looked at William in his arms and felt William shaking as if he was in a nightmare and said before he took William to the healing pools
"He just passed out so there's nothing to worry about when we return I'll announce the winners"
Cindy looked back at the devastated dojo that was repairing itself somehow then remembered seeing William crying as he lost control before she comforted Snowflake on her shoulder who was hiding as she was deep in thought
Meanwhile Sam had just laid William into the healing pool and backed away before William soon regained consciousness and asked as he floated in the baths
"Master? What happened? I remember me shouting then I fell asleep"
Sam took off his shoes and dipped his feet in the baths before he looked at William and said
"You lost your self and ran rampant but don't worry as no one was harmed"
William was relieved and tried to get up from the pool only to fall back down as he could barely move his body before Sam asked William
"Do you miss it? Our home I mean. You talked about how I've done nothing but keep you here to train when our home might already be gone"
William closed his eyes and said
"Don't you? I bet you're family is worried about you too"
Sam let out a tear and said as his hands trembled a little
"My family is dead and they were killed by the monsters to came on the day of the emergence. We were eating ice cream when it happened and before I knew it I was seeing monsters from myths and legends kill people on the streets"
William looked over and said as he saw Sam was saddened by the death of his parents
"the emergence took my parents too but afterwards it was me and my little sister… but she's gone too"
Sam wiped his tears and got out of the bath and said as he stood in the doorway before he left
"Everything changed that day and now we all have a new family but this time we will be ready for whatever comes seeking trouble now when you can move go to the dojo for the winner's announcement"
William smiled a little and continued bathing for a few more minutes before he had free range of movement again and made his way to the dojo where he was immediately surrounded by everyone before they bombarded him with questions about what happened before Sam said as he sat down
"That's enough! I still need to announce our winners"
Everyone lined up and waited as Sam placed the three
"All of you have exceeded my expectations but we can have only three winners and so in third place we have Charles"
Charles was shocked before he stepped forward to one of the eggs as Sam said
"Although you have shown your combat prowess you still will need to study more on the monster anatomy but you did as well as you could so take your reward"
Charles reached for the middle egg and place some of his blood on it before it hatched revealing a obsidian black scaled with golden eyes baby Earth Titan before he picked his up and yelled with joy
"You will be named Twilight!"
Twilight started licking Charles's face before he went back in line as Sam said
"In second place we have Ellen because of her courage as even thought if I was a wild monster she still helped William and left herself wide open"
Ellen recalled her rushing to help William before she felt her sister's pushing her towards one of the two remaining eggs before she placed some of her blood and hatched it to reveal a baby earth titan that seemed to be the complete opposite from Charles's baby earth titan with having pure golden scales with black eyes as she held it in her arms and said
"I think I'll name you Sunshine"
Sunshine immediately fell asleep in Ellen's arms without a care in the word as Ellen made her way back and waited as everyone was waiting for the final winner and who had the highest rating and Sam stood over the last egg and said with a smile
"And the last one who received flying marks… is Mary"
Mary thought she had the worst score as she was the team who got disqualified from the fight within a minute before she walked forward as Sam said
"Some of you may wonder why Mary was in 1st place when they were disqualified first and it's simple. She didn't complain after she lost"
Everyone looked shocked as that was the reason she had won even though her team was the quickest to lose they didn't complain as the others either cursed under their breath or show a visible sign of anger after they had lost what was supposed to be a fun competition
Sam handed marry the egg and said as she had begun to hatch it
"Life will hit you hard and you have to deal with it but if you cry about every loss in a fight then you won't ever grow"
Sam suddenly felt Mary tap on his shoulder before he saw Mary pointing at the egg before he took a closer look and saw Mary hatched twins in the same egg with a matching red spot of scales on its head while the rest of the scales were purple
Sam saw the twins climb out of the egg shell and nearly fall onto the ground but Sam caught them in time and said as he held them up to eye level to get a closer look at them
"Seems your quite fortunate Mary"
Mary grabbed both of the twins and said as she fed them some raw meat
"Now I gotta give these guys a name. How about kanji for you and sabako for you. Those names where the names of my first pair of puppies I had"
Twilight and sunshine jumped down and started circling around Mary before they all started playing together before Sam simply saw it as a pack of pups playing in a doggy daycare before he left the dojo with Sato, Kinna and Dina behind him but was stopped by Harry asking Sam
"Master? Where are you going?"
Sam stopped Sato, Kinna and Dina as he opened a gate and said before he jumped through
"I need to visit an old friend so don't worry about me and continue training hard"
Everyone wondered where Sam was going and who he was going to meet before Harry Phil looked at each other and said with a smirk
"The master said for us to train but he never said where to train Hehehe"
Harry and Phil hopped on tremors back and charged out the front door screaming
"Go tremor! We shall train in the Ash forest!"
Mary and the others sighed before Mary handed Samantha her Kanji and Sabako and said as she grabbed her sword
"Come on guys, let's make sure they don't get themselves killed"
Once everyone had left it was only Samantha and William who kept watch over the new borns while the rest began their hunt in the ash forest while the sun was high in the sky
