Emet woke up slowly. He realized he was alone. "Poppy," said hesitantly.
He did see anyone or hear a reply. He stretched then wondered to himself, 'was that just an intense dream? It felt so real. I was sure I met my future wife. Or maybe I'm just being crazy. I have been single for that long?'
He figured it was best to take a cold shower then get ready for the day. Church really wasn't his thing but figured since he was up early he might surprise his mom. He went to his phone to text his mom and noticed there was a note on it.
It read:
Sorry,
I didn't want to wake up but I had to leave. Here's my number (314)XXX-XXXX for just in case you want it.

'It wasn't a dream!' He thought to himself. He was so happy she left this note. He thought maybe he had drank too much and an extreme wet dream. That's why he figured he needed to go to church, because obviously he needed Jesus. He quickly called Poppy without thinking.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
"Hello?"
"Umm, it's Emet. Is this Poppy?"
" Yes, I didn't think you would call me so quickly."
" Why wouldn't I want to call my girlfriend?"
Poppy giggled then replied, "Oh, you were serious?"
"Of course."
"We just met and we haven't gone on a date."
" I can change that. Have dinner with me?"
" Okay."
" Cool. Do you have any favorite type of food?"
" I like pasta but I'm not picky. I'm pretty easy."
"Cool, I can probably pick you up at 7pm."
" Sounds good. But umm I have a question real quick?"
" Yeah, go for it."
"Did we use protection last night?"
'Protect?! How could I be so reckless? I mean it's too early for her to have my baby. Though I'm sure she would look beautiful with a baby bump.'
"Umm are you still there?" Poppy asked uneasily.
"Yeah, I'm here and no. I'm sorry. I can't believe I used a condom with you. I never had sex without one before. I can send you my last std and sti report I took?"
" It's not that serious. I get we were in the moment. I just needed to see it. I needed to take a plan b. Plus I was planning on getting tested anyway. No offense to you."
"I promise I'm not offended. That's actually smart. But I want to apologize for not using protection. That was reckless of me."
"Honestly, you don't owe me an apology. Because I was just as reckless. I hope this doesn't put a damper on our date."
"No, not all. I'm happy you mentioned it. I truly respect you for that. So I'll see you tonight?"
"See you tonight," she said and then she hung up.
Emet's mind was blown. Usually if he slept with someone he had to make sure used a condom and disposed of it. Because there were so many women who would've loved to trap him. He couldn't believe she really didn't know who he was. It felt good to finally find someone who really wanted to just get to know him.
'Hey, book me a private room at 730pm at that I like and see if they can have the jazz band there too. Also end that fake relationship with Summer asap.' He texted Aaron.
Aaron was surprised when he got that text. He immediately booked the restaurant and jazz band. But he wasn't quite sure how to end it without drama or fall out. Because conflict oddly wasn't his vibe. So he decided to test the waters with Summer Sky.
'Hey Summer, how do you feel about releasing a statement that you and Loyal decided to just be friends due to being too busy?Aaron texted Summer Sky.
'No.'
'Why not?'
'The public loves us. Why ruin a good thing? And I'm so close to releasing my new album. So I need the publicity.'
Aaron didn't understand why Summer Sky only planned on using Loyal. It was enough that they had caught her in the act, why couldn't she let him go?

"What's up?" Loyal answered.
"It's a no-go. She said no."
"I don't give a damn. Release a statement."
" I will. But why the change of heart? You didn't care before."
"You know I've been over it and I'm tired of dragging my feet on it."
"Oh."
"Yeah, so get it done today."
"Okay, I will."
"I'll talk to you later."
Aaron was a little outdone. He was tired of being the middle for Loyal and Summer Sky. But he didn't want anything to mess up Loyal's image so he just went along with it.
At the same time, Poppy was headed to Walgreens. She still couldn't wrap her mind around the night before. She couldn't believe was no longer a virgin and was gonna go on a date with her "boyfriend". Though Emet is so handsome and she has great chemistry with him, she was sure about trusting him. Like who trusts anyone after one night?

"Hello." Poppy answered.
"Girl, I thought you went missing. You know you forgot to call or text us when you got home last night?" Barley replied.
"My bad."
'There's no way I can tell her that I didn't go home last night or what I did.' Poppy thought to herself.
"What did you do after we left? And why are you blushing?"
Poppy blushed even harder. 'Dammit. Dang video call!' "Umm umm nothing. Just umm hung out for a little and no reason."
"Mmhmm, you know you're a bad liar right?"
"Not me… But I got a date tonight."
"Shut up! Really? What's his name?"
"Emet and I met him last night."
"Was he part of the "nothing" or "hanging out for a little"?"
Poppy giggled.
"We should share each other's locations. Just to be safe." Barley said cautiously. She didn't was to overstep but she wanted to make Poppy was safe. Plus don't nobody know who Emet is.
" Yeah, that actually sounds smart." Poppy replied. She would be lying if she said she wasn't a little nervous about her date with Emet.
"Let me see what you're wearing to the date."
Poppy propped her phone up so she could see her body and did a quick spin. She was wearing a deep brown silk slip dress with heels that matched. Her hair was in a curly fro with a brown flower clipped to one side.
"Poppy, you look so gorgeous and I love that dress. It almost matches your skin tone. I'm glad it's a couple shades darker than you because it pops on you."
"Thank you."
"He must be fine. Because girl you just look so gorgeous."
"Lol. He is cute and tall."
"How tall?"
"Like 6'4 or 6'5."
"That's real tall."
'I'm almost there.'- Emet.
'Coming down now.'- Poppy.
"Yeah and he just got here. I'm gonna call you tomorrow and tell you how it went. Love ya."
