Luke's thoughts get cut off when he approaches a nearby city. The city is tall and vast, bustling with people going about their day to day lives.
Luke motions for his men to follow him as he walks toward the city. "He must be over here. This is where the radar led us."
Luke and his group continue to walk over toward the city, hoping to find and capture the Narrator. Soon, they make it to the foot of the city. The city seems futuristic, with towering metallic skyscrapers that touch the clouds, and floating vehicles that race and weave in between buildings. However, as Luke and his army continue through, all the traffic through the city becomes less and less visible, as if Luke's presence is driving away the citizens.
"You," Luke calls out, pointing over to a blond man in a gray jumpsuit.
"Who, me?" He responds before walking over to Luke.
"Yes you. I need your help."
"With what?"
"I'm looking for someone." Luke pulls out a photo of a man dressed in a suit and tie.
"I don't believe I've seen this person before," the blond man responds.
"Then you are of no use to me."
Luke proceeds to walk away from the man before hearing his voice again.
"Wait!" he yells, "I might've possibly seen someone like that before."
Luke turns around after hearing this. "Then what is it?"
"It's just… If I help you, then can you help me?"
Luke scoffs. "Why would I help you? I don't even know your name."
"Please."
"Tell me what I need to know or I will kill you where you stand."
"Okay okay," the man starts, stumbling over his words, "I saw that man passing though this city the other day. I asked him for help as well, but he denied me, like you did."
"Where did he go?"
"Well, he left quite quickly, and I wasn't able to see where he went.."
Luke gives the man a glaring look. "Then give me a general direction."
"But aren't you going to help me?"
"Tell me where he went."
"But I thought-"
"I thought you were going to tell me where he went, or you were going to die." Luke draws out a sword, and other people begin to notice Luke's actions.
The crowd starts to murmur and wonder who this man with the sword is.
Luke takes notice of the gathering crowd. "I will not hesitate to strike down anyone who gets in the way of this information."
The crowd draws silent after Luke makes his threat, and then he approaches the man with his sword. Sword drawn to the man's neck, Luke asks again, "Where did he go?" Luke's expression does not change.
The man looks back at Luke. "I last saw him running off toward downtown, but I swear that's all I know."
Luke looks back over to the man. "If you're lying to me, I will find you."
"Wait!" The man yells out again.
"What is it now?" Luke says back, annoyed.
"I want to come with you. Please take me with you."
"Why?" A hint of annoyance passes through Luke's breath.
"I need to go downtown for the help I need."
"That sounds oddly convenient that my target went the same place you need to go. Are you sure you're not lying to me?"
The man sweats slightly.
"You still haven't told me your name. How can I trust you to do anything with me?"
"Oh- It's… Adrian." Adrian responds.
"Adrian… I will allow you to accompany me while I search for the Narrator. If you pull anything, however… You will die."
"What the hell is taking him so long?" The Flame Lord yells aloud.
Alice looks over to the Flame Lord, a small hint of gloom penetrates her eyes. "It's only been a day, honey. It would more than likely take a long time to find such an elusive man."
"You know I do not like to wait. I'm going to radio Luke and tell him he only has 10 hours before I go out myself." The Flame Lord finishes his thought with a sinister grin. "If I find the Narrator or that traitor Kara before Luke does, he'll pay for making me do his own work."
"Wait!" Alice yells out to her husband, but it's already too late.
The Flame Lord walks out of the room and leaves the castle entirely. He holds up his left arm; a computerized device is attached to it. "Console, pull up the map to the aircraft hangar."
As you wish, A digital voice response from the console says.
Following the map, the Flame Lord walks through the central plaza and continues to follow the remaining path. The chatter from the citizens of the kingdom cease as the Flame Lord continues to walk through the residential district of the kingdom. Looks of fear wash across the faces of everyone watching him pass through. However, the Flame Lord wants nothing to do with anyone in this area as he is too focused on the current objective in his mind. Murmurs spread throughout the crowd of civilians as they watched their king walk through the streets with a purpose, slowing down for nothing.
Eventually, the Flame Lord meets his destination, the aircraft hangar, with a look of determination on his face. Inside the hangar, he approaches a sleek, black fighter ship, vaguely resembling an old warplane. There's an old, worn decal on the left hand side of the ship that's barely even visible anymore. The Flame Lord pushes a button on his console and the hatch of the ship opens up, and swiftly jumps into the cockpit.
"I'll find you, Narrator. I'll find you, if my son doesn't first."
Luke finds himself in the outskirts of the city he was in prior, with Adrian tailing close behind him.
"I overthrew your corrupt government for you, why are you still following me?" Luke asks.
"I'm holding up my end of the deal." Adrian responds.
"There was no 'your end'. If anything, your end was to leave."
"You helped me, now I'll help you."
"I helped you so you would leave me alone."
"Nevermind that," Adrian said, "I think I saw him come over here."
"We're two miles from the city, how could you have seen him come over here?"
Adrian pauses for a moment before responding. "Well… I was curious about who he was, so… I followed him.
"You… followed him," Luke echoed.
"Is there a problem?"
Luke stands there, staring at Adrian with a perplexed look on his face. Why is he helping me? Luke thought as Adrian walked around, moving rocks. What does he want… Luke continues to think. He wants something from me… Suddenly, Luke hears a click coming out from the rocks Adrian was messing with.
"I found it!" Adrian yells.
Luke turns around to face Adrian. "Where?" Luke continues to scan around the area until he sees a boulder that was moved out of place. None of this is adding up, Luke continues to think. "Why are you helping me? You don't even know my motives."
"If someone helps you, you should help them back," Adrian responds.
Adrian opens up a hatch that was under the moved boulder. "I think it's in here."
This is too fishy… Luke thinks. Something is going to happen…
Adrian hops down through the open hatch. "Are you following, or no?"
"Fine." Cautiously, Luke hunches down over to the open hatch, and carefully positions himself on the ladder, and climbs down. When he reaches the bottom of the shaft, Luke carefully inspects the area. The room is dimly lit, if at all, by the light streaming in from the open hatch. There are papers scattered all around the floor, with a desk and a chair situated on the far left side of the room. To the right is a bed with a solid metal frame and bed sheets that look to not have been washed in over a year. "What the hell is-"
A loud clang echoes throughout the room, and Luke's body hits the ground with a hard thud. Another clang sounds when a frying pan falls and lands next to Luke's unconscious body, with Adrian standing over him.
The Flame Lord is flying through empty space in his modified fighter spaceship, searching for Luke. Suddenly, he hears a siren emanate from his console.
What the hell is this, now, he thinks, annoyed at the sound. "Wait a minute." The Flame Lord looks down at his console and notices Luke's vitals have dropped sharply. "LUKE!" He yells out
