Chapter 15 - chapter 15-invasion(Original

The sun is shining on a beautiful, sunny day in Paris, France. Many people walk about the parks, some people setting up picnics. A mother calls out for her kid to come back over to her as her kid runs around the park. Some clouds roll past to block out the sun for a short period of time, but soon pass by and the sun continues to shine.

"Venez ici, Jesse!" The mother calls out in french, still beckoning her child to come to her.

"Non maman, je veux jouer!" The 9 year old Jesse responds.

"Jesse, viens ici s'il te plait."

"Écoutez á ta mère," Jesse's dad adds.

"D'accord, maman…" Jesse responds, walking back over to her parents.

About halfway back to her parents, she stops and looks up to the sky, puzzled.

"Qu'est-ce que c'est, Jesse?"Jesse's mother asks, wondering why Jesse stopped.

Jesse points up to a large object up in the sky. "Il y a quelque chose dans le ciel!"

"Oh Jesse, il n'y a rien… là-bas." Jesse's mother looks up to the sky, the sun now being blotted out by a large spaceship, "Que diable?"

The ship approaches further and further until details can be made out. On the side of the space battleship's hull, there is a large insignia depicting a symbol of fire, with sharp, jagged edges. A few hatches open up on the flying battleship, releasing hundreds of space fighters. Jesse's mother goes wide-eyed. Soon, the ships begin to open fire toward the civilians in the park.

"Jesse, allons-y!" Jesse's mother grabs her by the arm and runs toward the forest. She turns around to face Jesse's father. "ALLER!"

Jesse's father runs up to catch up with them.

"Papa, attention!" Jesse yells out to her father.

One of the fighter ships flies close to Jesse's father and fires. He gets hit in one of his shoulders and tumbles to the ground. "Sacrebleu," Jesse's father yells after falling.

Jesse's mother runs over to him to try and help him up. "Tu vas être bien, Dave… Tu vas être bien."

Jesse's father, Dave, looks up weakly. "Aller… Aller sans moi," he said, telling his wife to leave him behind.

Jessie runs back over to her mother. "Maman!" She starts to tug on her mom and dad to get them to run into the forest with her.

"Ton père est blessé," Jesse's mother says urgently, "Nous avons besoin de prendre ton père à l'infirmière."

More gunshots are heard as Jesse's family struggle to make their way through the forest to the nurse's home.

"Ne t'inquiète pas Dave, nous y serons bientôt," Jesse's mom says to her husband, trying to comfort him.

Dave remains silent.

A young, brunette woman with light purple eyes is sitting down at a table, with a worried expression. "Something's happening out there, Mom."

"April, dear, I'm sure it will be fine," Her mother, Rose, responds, with a twinge of worry in her tone. Rose has a head of gray-brown hair and sports green eyes.

"Do you think it's the witch hunters?"

Rose gives a reassuring gaze to April. "I'm sure that time is behind us now, April." Rose releases a deep sigh before saying under her breath, "this may be much, much worse."

Sounds of gunfire can be heard outside.

"I don't think that's normal, Mom."

"Expect many people to be visiting soon, April. I don't think many people will make it out of this unscathed."

Soon, the sounds of footsteps can be heard coming down the set of stairs. A young girl appears from the second floor of the house. She wears a bright red dress and has maroon-red eyes, and her hair is curly and dark red. "What's happening outside? I keep seeing bright flashes of light coming out of these huge spaceships!"

"It'll be alright Violet," April says to the girl, reassuring her, "We may have a few more visitors than normal, however."

"It's… kind of scary outside, mom," Violet says.

"It'll be fine, sweety." April gets up from her chair to hug Violet, but then hears a knock on the door.

"It's alright April, I'll get this," Rose says, walking over to the door, "Go take Violet upstairs."

April picks up Violet and walks upstairs.

Rose opens the door to see a woman carrying a wounded man, and a small child tugging on her mother's pant leg. "Tu as besoin d'aide! Mon mari, Dave, il est blessé," the mother says to Rose, informing her of her husband, Dave's injury.

"Qu'est ce qui s'est passé?" Rose asks.

"Il a été abattu!" The mother responds, informing Rose her husband was shot.

"Tir?"

"Oui, il a été abattu, dans l'épaule."

"Oh mon…"

Rose ushers in the family, and sets Dave down on the table April was sitting at.

"Attendre en haut s'il vous plait, J'ai besoin d'être seul faire mon travail," Rose says to the family, asking them to wait upstairs.

"Je veux rester avec mon mari!" the mother says, not wanting to leave her husband.

"S'il vous plaît, attendez en haut."

Reluctantly, the mother takes her child upstairs for Rose to work on saving Dave.

Rose turns around to see if the mother and child are all upstairs. Once she turns back, she waves her hands around the entry hole. Rose's hands glow a faint purple as a needle made of glowing energy begins to sew the wound shut with a magical thread. She flicks her hand over to Dave, and purple particles come off of her hand and land on his face. Dave's eyes begin to twitch as he starts to wake.

"Uhh… Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé?" Dave asks.

"Vous avez été blessé, mais vous avez l'air d'être bien." Rose responds, assuring Dave that he is fine.

Rose heads over to the stairs to tell the family that Dave has fully recovered, but hears another knock on the door instead. Rose instructs Dave to head upstairs with his family while she goes to answer the door.

"Bonjo-" Rose starts before seeing who stands at the door.

"Hello, Rose," The Flame Lord says.
