"Multiple guards are patrolling the kingdom, keeping everyone in line," Luke starts.
"Good," The Flame Lord responds, "Have there been any infractions on the new laws?"
"Only 1," Luke says, "The perpetrators were dealt with swiftly. Let's just say that there should be no more infractions."
"Perfect. Luke, I have a new task for you," The Flame Lord says, handing Luke an amulet, "You are to give this to Nashi. I"m getting tired of her meddling around in my plans."
Luke falters for a moment.
"Is there something wrong, Luke?" The Flame lord asks, deceptively sincere.
"No… Father, there is nothing wrong."
"Good," The Flame Lord responds, "By the way, my radar has picked up word of more kingdoms in the surrounding systems. I also want you to capture them."
"But what about Na-"
"You may handle her later, if that suits you better. As long as you get that amulet around her neck, I will not care."
Without another word, the Flame Lord dismisses Luke to complete his duties. After he leaves, the Flame Lord walks back over to his balcony, to overlook the kingdom. Guards continue to patrol the streets, upholding the Flame Lord's iron fisted rule. While staring out of the balcony, the Flame Lord forms a small fireball in his hand, and inside, an apparition of a sleeping Nashi appears.
"Soon my child," He starts, "Soon you will know the path of the flame. The true path."
The fireball dissipates from his hand when he hears commotion come down from the street. It sounds like yelling. The Flame Lord jumps down from the balcony and somersaults onto his feet, before walking to the scene. After a couple of minutes, the Flame Lord sees one of his guards holding up a child by the collar, while he kicks and screams. The woman, presumably his mother, is yelling at the guard to put him down.
"Put him down, you say," the guard says, holding a pike to the child's throat.
"Excuse me, do you mind explaining what is happening here?" The Flame Lord calmly says.
Upon hearing his voice, both the guard and the woman freeze in place. The child is still kicking around, not understanding the situation about to unfold.
"This man is threatening to-" the woman starts, before being cut off.
"I don't mean you, lady," the Flame Lord interrupts, before moving his glare over to the guard, "Would you mind explaining what you are doing?
"This little bastard put out my eye!" the guard yells, pointing to his swollen eye with the pike he was holding.
"Boy," the Flame Lord says to the thrashing child, "Look at me boy."
"The boy stops flopping around and remains still. The child, now motionless, slowly looks up to the Flame Lord.
"Did you attack one of my guards, boy?"
"I- ummm… uhh I," the boy starts, stammering around his words.
"Answer me, boy."
"It wa- was an… It was an-"
"You need to tell me, boy."
The boy remains silent, dangling from his shirt, held up by the guard.
"Drop him," The Flame Lord says.
"But sire-" the guard starts.
"That is an order from your Lord," the Flame Lord continues.
The child begins to fall from the air, before tumbling onto his knees. Slowly, he gets up and runs back to his house.
"You," the Flame Lord says, turning to the woman, "I want you to discipline your child thoroughly. I will not be as merciful next time. In fact, you're lucky I didn't just order my men to execute him, or you."
"Y-Yes… My lord," the woman says, stunned with fear.
"You may leave," the Flame Lord says to both the woman and the guard, before turning around.
