Chapter 4 - chapter 4- Declaration of War

Alice rushes off to find Luke to tell him that he is needed. Soon, Alice finds Luke and escorts him to the throne room where the Flame Lord waits impatiently.

"You called me, father?" Luke asks.

"Indeed I have," Cameron responds, "Prince Luke, I have a very important task for you."

"What is it?"

"I'm putting you in charge of the military forces. I know you have the will and the str-"

Cameron is cut off mid sentence by Alice.

"You can't put our son in charge of the military! He's still a kid!" Alice protests.

"I am the king," Cameron starts, "And I say he is the new head of the military. He is the only one I trust to run my army."

Luke stands there in shock, trying to process the information.

"Luke, as your king," Cameron starts, "I want you to lead my army into the other universes, and locate their strongest warriors. If they do not submit, I want you to force them to. Use any amount of force you seem necessary. If you fail to do this, there will be grave consequences."

"Cameron, you can't threaten our son!" Alice yells.

The Flame Lord gives a stern glare over to Alice and says, "I will do as I please, and you are to address me as your Lord."

Alice, looking defeated, solemnly replies, "I'm sorry, my lord…"

"One more thing, Luke," Cameron starts, "If you are to locate the Narrator, I want you to capture him,and immediately bring him to me. Do not kill him. That task is for me and me alone. If I learn that he died under your supervision, you will join the rest of the Damned in my sword, do you understand?"

Luke nods, a scared look on his face.

"Then go."

Cameron pauses for a moment, waiting for Luke to leave

"Alice, see him off. Make sure he follows my order," he starts. "I'll prepare the portals.

It's good to be back, the Flame Lord thinks to himself, and with so many new playthings at my disposal… This will be fun against him… The Narrator. Cameron walks outside into the gallows where Luke and his new army are waiting. The old commander stands by himself. "Commander," the Flame Lord says with a slight smile, "You are relieved of duty." The Flame Lord flashes his oppressive, shadowy eyes at the commander, and his eyes roll back in his head as he slumps over. The Flame Lord looks back over to Luke. "Screw up, and you end up like him," he says, pointing to the Commander's limp body.

"Luke, you are to conquer the other worlds and make them fall to the flame," The Flame Lord said. "If they refuse, I want you to execute everyone on the planet. Do not disappoint me, boy."

Luke stammers and stumbles around his words, "Y- Yes, fa… M- My lord."

"How do you expect people to take you seriously if you're tripping over sentences?"

"I- I don't know."

The Flame Lord gives Luke a stern look before dismissing him to go through the portal. The fleet of troops and spacecraft then begin to move toward the ship.

"I thought I told you to see him off, Alice," the Flame Lord said.
