The opal ring hit the ground with a loud clunk as the Flame Lord was assaulted by the one-hundred dark shards. The Flame Lord's body convulsed and Kara ran away to the castle, scared for her life.
"What the hell are you?" The Narrator yells at the new being possessing the Flame Lord.
"I am the darkness that creeps around the corner," The Flame Lord starts, "I am the stain on this world, the evil inside your heart."
The Narrator thought to himself for a second.
"That's it," the Narrator began, "It's you,"
"Looks like someone has a brain," the Flame Lord says mockingly, "Though I know damn well you knew this before."
"So what if I did?" The Narrator responds.
The Flame Lord zips over to the front of the Narrator, "Then you're aware that I can't have you alive, because we both understand that you know how to stop me," The Flame Lord pauses for a moment, "And we both know that I wouldn't want that, do we?"
The Flame Lord gives a smirk, one of malice and hate, his eyes glowing dark with the souls of the damned swirling around inside.
"You really are a monster," the Narrator said, attempting to land a blow.
The Narrator's hit grazes the Flame Lord's chest but no real damage is dealt. He ducks around and elbows the Narrator in the side with enough force to cause a shockwave in the air. The Narrator stumbles backward trying to recover.
Let's end this now, the Flame Lord thinks to himself, before he has any time to meddle with my plans… He slowly walks over to the Narrator, who is still attempting to recoup his stance. As the Narrator staggers to his feet, the Flame Lord grabs ahold of his head and pulls him up to eye-level.
"I will destroy you, atom by atom, until there is nothing left of you, not even a memory," The Flame Lord begins,"Mark my words."
The Flame Lord begins to lower the Narrator's head to collide with his knee, before someone tackles him, catching him off guard. The Narrator, now free of the Flame Lord's grip, looks over to see what happened.
"Kara?" The Narrator says, confused.
"Get off of me you w- wench!" The Flame Lord yells. His face twinges at the sight of Kara's despaired face. For a split second, his eyes revert to the beautiful crimson red they were before, and tears are streaming down his face. Soon after, the Flame Lorm shoves Kara off of him.
"Run," he yells, "run while you can!"
"I can't leave you like this!" Kara returns
"Please just leave me behind," he replies, before his eyes return to that shadowy mucus. "You should have listened," the repossessed Flame Lord states.
Before the Flame Lord could do anything to Kara, the Narrator grabs her by the wrist and pulls her away.
"What are you doing?" Kara asks.
"Saving you," The Narrator responds, "That's not Cameron anymore." He gestures over to the approaching Flame Lord.
"You won't escape me, Narrator," the Flame Lord responds, quickening his pace.
"But I think I will," the Narrator retorts. As he says this, a blue, swirling energy envelopes from under both him and Kara.
"NO!" The Flame Lord yells.
Soon, the energy finished forming, and a gateway was opened. Kara and the Narrator both flew through the portal in the floor, the Flame Lord just barely missing the two.
"Damn it… GOD DAMN IT!" The Flame Lord yells, "You, Why didn't you go after him?" The Flame Lord looks over to his head commander, dressed in royal uniform, with all the royal accolades affixed to his chest.
"Sire, you did not tell us to go after him," the man responded.
"I do not care what I did or did not say," the Flame Lord replied with a stern look on his face, "What does matter is that you allowed the enemy to escape, and for that, I will make an example out of you and your group of men."
