Chapter 25: Purple Ice VS Punisher (2)
The woman craned her neck softly, while indifferently glancing at the black clothed figure.
"Ah...this feels so good. This strength within me, I can feel it. The blood coursing through my body bearing my master's power...is exhilarating! Your death is near!" She said in a maniacal voice.
Specks of purple ice flakes manifested in the air, giving off a frighteningly chilly aura. She gently levitated a few feet into the air, looking like she was standing on an invisible pedestal.
"Now come! Punisher! Show me what you can do! In a true battle between Epic level mages!" Her voice was murderous.
The Punisher was calm in the face of the woman's power, while Markov's and the boy's eyes had turned deathly pale.
He snorted.
"Your power level has risen exponentially, plus the strange energy in that purple ice if yours makes you a huge threat for any normal Epic level mage, but not me. As I mentioned earlier, you will lucky to leave here in one piece." The Punisher equally rose into the air, with a black aura gushing out of his body.
A faint silhouette of a dark cluster of mass stood behind him. In the cluster of mass, two glowing eyes of some sort shone in a crimson red tint.
The two figures disappeared from their position, and a loud boom resounded the air.
The sounds of battle resounded every now and then as Markov and the boy hopefully looked at the sky. They hoped that their savior would win. Else, they might not be able to live past this day.
The Punisher's eyes suddenly shone in a strange bloody red.
Curse Magic: Blood Shadow Hex!
A dark red seal suddenly appeared on an inconspicuous part of the woman's body. The woman didn't notice anything suspicious and continued to directly attack the shadowed figure.
The figure continued to defend against her onslaught of attacks, dodging and deflecting her blows by a hair.
This fight raged on for more than 5 minutes enough time for their energy signatures to alert the Federation of their presence.
It seemed like that was the Punisher's objective: to stall for time until the Guards sent someone over. The woman noticed all of this and noted that she would be increasingly disadvantaged in this fight should this go on.
As a result, her attacks became more frenzied and ferocious, overwhelming the shadowed figure. It seemed like she would not stop until she bathed in the blood of his dead corpse.
The figure took note of this and silently increased the power of his counterattacks, raising his power and energy signature but by bit.
The woman was surprised. She did not think that he could still keep up with her in her current form. Nevertheless, she was sure that she was going to end his life before reinforcements could arrive. Making her use this technique right now, was unforgivable!
She would destroy him!
Her aura continuously surged as weird purple ice started to fall from the sky in a flabbergasting phenomenon.
"You despicable bastard. How dare you anger me like this? I will kill you!"
The purple snowflakes cascaded on the terrain, causing the surrounding plants to decay as the ground started to take a strange purple color.
The shadow frowned. This was not a good thing. If this kept up, she would completely destroy the surrounding ecosystem with her weird magic.
He had to put an end to this. Quickly.
His surged through his body, charging up for an attack. But that left a tiny opening, one that the purple robed female did not hesitate to exploit as she landed a fierce blow to his chest.
As her fist connected with his chest, the strange energy from her purple ice coated hand traveled through his body at a very fast speed, wrecking his internal organs with the span of a few seconds.
Phwark!
The shadowed figure fiercely spat out blood. But the strange thing was, the female figure also spat out a mouthful of blood. She quickly distanced herself from his figure as her eyes stared at him in shock.
"Blood Shadow Sealing Hex. Complete." The shadowed figure said in a low voice.
"What did you do to me? Some kind of hex? Curse? How did you do it?" Her voice trembled as the pain in her body grew larger and larger. She couldn't help but spit another mouthful of blood. Why was the pain so much? She was sure that she didn't use too much power just now!
It seemed like she had figured out that the shadowed figure had place some kind of curse on her; one that reflects damage.
"By now, I guess you must be thinking that the Blood Shadow Hex merely reflects damage, and must be constantly thinking of ways to counter it.". The Punisher's voice was deep.
"The Blood Shadow Hex cannot be broken by anyone who it is casted upon. Unless the caster wills it, the damage that you have done to me will increase by..." The shadow paused.
"A hundred fold." He held one finger up as the woman's eyes widened.
"You're lying! A hex that reflects damage up to a hundred times?! Why haven't I heard of it?! You're just bluffing!" She laughed in anger and shock.
"You'll see who's bluffing. And don't think that you can be able to remotely control your purple ice to stop the attack. I've isolated their signature from the outside world. The only basic instinct they follow now is the one you gave them: to destroy. And as they keep on destroying my cells, the damage will continue to be reflected a hundred fold. Even if I stand here and do nothing, you'll eventually take your last breath before I do. Checkmate. I win." The shadow explained as he looked at the horror-stricken woman.
"You'd sacrifice yourself...just to kill me?" The woman asked, hoping to gain some sympathy.
Too bad...
"I live only by the Punisher's code. My life is but a small price to pay to stop you and your strange magic once and for all." The figure said calmly, sending chills down the woman's spine.
The woman suddenly laughed.
"Hahaha. Sacrificing yourself to take me out. You're incredibly vicious. Even towards yourself. I expect nothing less towards your enemy. But if you think that I will go down without a fight, dream on! Even if I can't kill you, I'll make sure there's nowhere else for you to hide from my master's wrath!" She laughed maniacally.
"Why don't I take out these two huh? We'll all go down in hell together! Hahahaha!" Her loud shriek caused the sky to suddenly turn dark.
"Silver Snake Style: Silver Serpent Deity Avatar!" The woman roared in a demonic voice.
A huge image of a silver colored snake suddenly appeared in the air. The arrival of this snake image caused thick bolts of red and silver colored lightning to flash in the sky. It's cold eyes condescendingly scanned everything below it, deeming all below it unworthy of looking into its eyes.
At the same time, Lady Silver Serpent's eyes suddenly snapped towards their direction, a frown on her face. The silver snake with her suddenly started behaving strangely. Who used that technique? A flash of realization suddenly crossed through her eyes.
She quickly snapped her fingers, and a man dressed in a kimono immediately appeared before her.
"Go, bring back Purple Ice. It seems she has some explaining to do. I specifically told her not to utilize that technique, regardless of the situation. I do not appreciate disobedience from my subordinates." A light voice was heard.
The kimono wearing man nodded and disappeared.
As the snake's cold eyes glimmered, a husky, ethereal voice was heard.
"W...h...o has...sum...mon.. ed me?" The voice slithered between words, sounding ancient and spiritual. Its voice traveled across everyone's ears, sending fear into Markov's and the boy's hearts.
The woman's eyes continuously flashed in a strange light, evidence that she was communicating with the giant snake image.
After a few seconds, the silver snake suddenly disappeared into bright silver particles that converged into the woman's body.
The Punisher's figure was shocked to discover that he couldn't sense the presence of his Blood Shadow Hex anymore.
In other words, the woman was no longer affected by it.
But how?
His eyes looked shocked as he looked at the woman's figure.
