"So, what do you want?" my eyes lit up at his question, sparking joy in me unnoticeably.
"I merely want adventure then I'd like a purpose," On the way here I kept thinking what my purpose to come back into this world was. What I shall do now, why I should do it. I disliked complex things, just wanted something straightforward.
"You can join me on the condition you fight for us," I smirked at his way of thinking, giving off a glare that'd send a bear off running. "How about I pull my own weight and if I want to help I will?"
"Hmm, you're definitely unique, who was your prior owner?" What? What's with this stuff again. There's a talking crow, why am I odd?
"I don't have any, never will. Now are where we heading?" He crooked his head at me, tapping his fingers on his armor.
"I don't trust you in the least, come as you will but I first have to get a new mission." Missions, must be a mercenary, I got up and jumped on the window. Looking out on the rows of streets, bustling with energy.
"See you then!" I was off with excitement, through the shadows. I had his scent. I'd find him later. All that was on my mind was getting inside the big castle. Restricted zones are the best. It gets the adrenaline running, if I get caught I'd love the chase.
I ran along large cement pipes which carried me along the outskirts until I gradually left them to hide behind market stalls in the center square. Huge fountains rained colour in the sky.
Smells of flour, pastries and bread wafted through the air. I had to scope some out. I followed the scent, through countless legs of busied humans, until I came across the source. "Order up! Order now!" a woman yelled over the crowds, behind the stand.
Mmm. Delicious, I licked my lips as I crouched down to grab a soft piece of just correctly cooked bread.
"Hey, thief!" the lady's yell pierced my ears. How did she notice me? I noticed all their heads turned the opposite direction.
It wasn't me, but a small girl slipping through the crowd, holding a stolen piece of bread. How cute and cunning humans can be. I took my piece and followed her behind, curious of her intentions. I could see glimpses of her nearly being crushed between people.
I climbed up a near by house to watch from a clearer view. Two men were on her tail, I could see her exhaustion start to build, her arms already limp beside her.
I wondered, should a thief help another thief?
