Chapter 7 - Warrior

"Come on, get down, you'll get caught."

I scoffed at his remark, confident in my stealth and agility. I hadn't taken over the jungle lightly. I wanted to test my abilities here and explore every corner.

I jumped down and hid myself in the shadows, taking in my new surroundings. The alleys we took seemed unmaintained, cracks crept along homes and pipes were rusted and broken.

As we got further in my ears perked up at the sound of loud crowds bustling and moving around. The noise so vivid and exciting I nearly walked straight into a few men lining the street. "Up here," Roy motioned from above.

My size was not an advantage in this situation, the supports barely holding my weight could. I joined Roy inside a small compartment, leading to a rather large room decorated with dining table fit for 10.

"Where are we going?" I asked, ducking once again into the darkness.

"You are staying here, my owner is near and will be coming here soon," He pouted off. I wondered around, finding a spot in the corner where I sat. I imagined his mood couldn't get worse.

Curiosity flicked through my tail while listening to shouts getting thrown back and forth from parties just outside the room. Animal noises alike, unintelligible wailed from inside as well, I just needed a peek.

I got my head just rounding the corner to see just enough in to see. Gah! A man turned and saw me. "It's not like you to bring something," He spoke deeply, but with no hint of anger.

"Pest was annoying," Roy shot back.

Gently coming closer the man grinned and said, "It must be able to speak then."

I wasn't too sure at the current moment on what to do. I simply tilted my head and acted oblivious to my current situation. He wore light armor, with a long sword lining his belt with many accessories.

I wondered if he was a mercenary or warrior as those were the most common in my time.

My questions were shortly answered as he introduced himself, "I'm Gunther the hunter, a warrior, pleased to meet you."

The respect was awkward, but slightly sarcastic with his grin plated on his face.

I stayed sitting in my position and spoke, "June, pleasure to meet you."

My name used to be August although never used. I still cling to it. But I'm not her anymore. So I just used the next thing closest to my name I could think of that was decent.

A warrior, a panther and a crow. Seemed like October hit early.
