After they finished their meals, Junwei opened the donut box. He placed the donut on each of the three plates when Ziyang asked him if he did not bring the donut for Sophie.
"I did not know that she would be present here. Moreover, she is an actress and she hardly intakes sugar," Junwei stated as he placed the plates in front of his grandfather and mother on the table. "Am I right?" He glanced at Sophie for a brief moment.
"But I am craving for donuts," asserted Sophie.
"You can leave for your house and buy donuts from a shop," Junwei gave her a suggestion.
"I will share the donut with Miss Lin," Katie and Ziyang said at the same time. "Father, I will share with Sophie. You should eat yours," she asserted.
"It is fine. I will not eat the donut. Junwei is right. I do not take sugar after six in the evening. Today I cheated on my diet," Sophie explained to them.
Ziyang took the first bite of the donut and said, "I cannot believe that my grandson treats a guest this way." He gazed at Jun, who almost took a bite of the donut, but stopped. "Jun, share your donut with Sophie. I have not forgiven you yet," he added.
"Grandpa, you had forgiven me," Junwei said with a stunned look on his face.
"I changed my mind. I will forgive you if you share the donut with Miss Lin," he affirmed.
Junwei shifted his gaze at Sophie. "She said she does not intake sugar after six in the evening," he stated.
"If you will give me, then I will accept it. You are a special friend to me, Junwei," Sophie said with a bright smile on her lips.
Katie suppressed her smile and it made her wonder if Sophie knew Junwei for a long time or if she grew feelings for him in their first meeting.
Junwei arched her brow when Sophie quickly came to his side. She pulled out a chair and sat next to him.
"What are you doing?" Junwei asked when she took the fork from his hand. She cut the donut in half and inserted the fork in its middle.
"Open your mouth," she said as she brought the donut near his mouth. Both Katie and Ziyang glanced at them.
Junwei took the fork from her and took a bite of it. He looked away when Sophie picked up the other piece for herself and ate that while smiling. Ziyang and Katie were astonished, but that gesture between those two made them happy.
After they finished eating the donuts, Junwei asked his grandfather to go to sleep. He then looked at his mother, and said, "I will do it, Mom. You should sleep too." He took the plate from her and stacked the other two plates above that.
Sophie took the plates from Junwei and told him that she would help him. He refused her and told her to go to her home.
"I will leave after keeping these in the washbasin," Sophie stated and stood up. Junwei did not like this attitude of hers. However, in front of Ziyang and Katie, he could not even get angry at her.
Ziyang was ready to leave for the bedroom and stood up. "Drop Miss Lin at her house," He ordered his grandson while Katie stood next to her father.
"Why should I drop her? I believe she can go home by herself," Junwei stated.
"Son, drop Miss Lin till her home. She is a celebrity and late at night, letting her go alone is not appropriate. Okay?" Katie asked her. Junwei could not refuse it and he nodded at her.
Sophie had come toward them and again thanked them for inviting her for the dinner. "I truly enjoyed the dinner with all of you," she said with a bright smile.
"You can come here anytime, Sophie," Katie said and looked at Junwei.
"Come, I will drop you home," Junwei said and walked ahead.
Sophie was astonished to hear him. Ziyang told her to follow Junwei quickly before he changed his mind. Sophie nodded and ran after Junwei.
"They indeed have a spark," Ziyang said and smiled along with her daughter, Katie.
Sophie picked up her sling bag and put its strap around her shoulder diagonally. Jun asked her if she came in her car and she shook her head.
"I booked a taxi," Sophie replied.
Junwei went to his room and brought the car key. He then asked her to follow him and they both left for the parking lot.
Junwei wore the seatbelt and turned the engine on. "Did the taxi driver not recognize you?" He questioned her.
"He did not as I wore a mask and a cap," Sophie said. Junwei drove the car out of the parking lot. The traffic was clear by the night and they reached her home soon. She thanked him and opened the door from her side.
"Stop!" Junwei told her and she turned to him with an inquisitive gaze.
Junwei opened the seatbelt and leaned in her direction. She stopped blinking to see him getting close to her. 'Is he really kissing me?' She thought and tightly held the edges of her knee-length skirt.
Junwei placed his thumb above her lips and wipe the chocolate that she got from eating the donut. "I will punish you if you do not reach on time tomorrow morning," he said and lowered his hand.
"Punish me? How?" Sophie arched her brow with an amused smile.
Before Junwei could answer her, he saw a person cladded in black clothes. He had gone behind the pillar and he found it strange.
"Can I follow you to your apartment?" Junwei asked her.
"What?" Sophie was bewildered for a second.
"I am thirsty," Junwei answered and turned his gaze to her.
"Sure." Sophie turned happier because this was the first time Junwei would visit her house. They both stepped out of the car and went to the elevator. He pressed the button on the elevator and it closed.
