" Tera! Elizabeth!" Dera called. A little girl came out of the house to meet him. She looked exactly like his daughter, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was a grown woman now, this must be her daughter or grand daughter. He said in his head.
" Nandi" The little girl greeted politely.
" Iseeee" He replied with a smile on his face. His face has accumulated many wrinkles, due to age.
" Where is your mother, little one?" He asked.
" Lili!" A voice called from behind them.
Lilli turned around to see her mother standing there with both her hands placed on her waist.
" Come here now!" She ordered. Lili glance one more time at Dare before running to her mother.
" How many times have I warned you not speak to strangers? Go inside right now! Your great grandma is looking for you." She said, as she pulled Lili's ear to punish her.
" I'm sorry mother." She said, before running inside the house.
" Who are you, and what do you want?" Rachel asked.
" My name is Dera, are you my daughter, Elizabeth?" He asked.
" No. My name is Rachel, Elizabeth's daughter." She replied.
" I see. You must be my grand daughter then. Where is my daughter, and my wife, your grandmother?" Dera asked, as tears rolled down his cheeks.
" Who are you?" Rachel asked. Her eyes trails from his head to his feet. He looked ugly and unkept. His clothes were torn and dirty.
" My name is Dera, your grand father. I was sent to Topaz mountain when your mother was two years old. I'm back now. I've been set free." His voice quivered as he spoke.
Rachel eyes widened, she could not believe her ears, could the man in front of her be her grandfather? Everyone had lost hope, they thought he was dead. Growing up, Rachel's grandmother had told her about her grandfather.
" I will believe you, if you can tell me the middle and last name of my grandfather."
" Dera Sera Dutch." He replied.
Rachel covered her mouth in shock. The man in front of her was actually her grandfather. Only her grandfather would know his full name.
" Grandmother!" She screemed." Grandfather has come back!" She screemed with tears rolling down her cheeks.
" What is it, Rachel?" An old lady asked, as she walked out of the house, holding Lili's hand. " Why are you screening?" She asked again, walking closer to where Rachel stood.
" Look who's come grandma, it's Dera, your husband." She spoke pointing at Dera, who was standing a close distance from them.
" Dera!" She called. She moved step by step to where he stood.
" Tera!" He replied as he walked closer to her. They both held each other's hands. Tera looked at his face, trying to identify him. It has been fifty years, she needed to be sure.
" Tera, it is me Dera." He looked her in the eyes. Although it has been fifty years since they last saw each other, two things about him didn't change. His eyes and smile. He had the cutest eyes ever. His blue eyes were like that of the sea's. His smile was like that of a baby's, so innocent. Dera's eyes and smile, were what attached Tera in the first place. She could never forget them.
" Dera!" She cried out leaning against his chest. Dera threw his arms around her, holding her to himself. She sobbed uncomfortably in his arm, while Dera patted her in the back, to comfort her.
From a distance, Rachel watched as the old couple held each other. After fifty years, they were reunited with each other. So beautiful!
" Mother must be happy watching her parents reunite from heaven." Rachel mutters, as she looked at the sky. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
