Chapter 44 - Overdose

Kleiner stepped closer to his bedroom. He stood in front of the door, holding the doorknob to his bedroom hesitantly.

"Is she crying?"

Kleiner made up his mind to open the door in front of him. He heard sobs coming from inside.

"Why are you crying, Cia? Who or what brought you to tears?"

A woman's voice was faintly heard from inside, who else but Vyschella Ciara Demougust.

"You don't know me well, but you treat me so well. Thank you, Kley!"

"Did you just thank me, Cia?"

Kleiner continued to listen to his wife cry while saying a few sentences that touched his heart.

"Why don't you remember me, Cia? Remember our promise 20 years ago?"

Kleiner leaned himself against the door. He could no longer hold back the love and longing in his heart which was getting more and more congested.

Bruck!

Kleiner still leaning against his bedroom door, Kleiner plopped down there. He sat on the cold floor and his heart sank into feelings as deep as his desire to have Vyschella completely.

"If only you knew who I am and if you remembered me, Cia! You would definitely run into my arms! I'm sure of it!"

Kleiner just let the tears fall. He ruffled his hair. His eyes were blank.

Oscar looked at his young master from a distance. He suspected that something was wrong with their relationship. However, he couldn't do anything about it because he wouldn't meddle in matters that were none of his business.

"Even though I know that you're not my real husband, but I'll still be loyal to you, Kley! Why? Because you've snatched my precious crown and being with you ... is the happiest thing for me! Am I feeling wrong? I'm just a substitute for my Sister."

The sound of Vyschella's cries resounded. Kleiner was happy.

"Remember one thing, Cia! I'm not the husband of your twin sister! You're the one and my only bride!"

Kleiner wiped his tears and stared ahead blankly.

"Thank you, Cia, you've returned my feelings! One day, I'll marry you properly! I keep my word to you, Vyschella Ciara Demougust!"

Kleiner got up and violently opened the bedroom door.

Clack!

"Why are you crying, Cyra? Is the dress I bought still lacking? Or do you wanna buy something else?"

Kleiner walked over to his wife, who was sitting on the bed wiping her tears. The man grabbed Vyschella's chin and brought it closer to his face.

"I don't wanna see you cry over something that doesn't matter! Got it?!"

Vyschella gasped and suddenly nodded.

"Good! Then, take off your clothes and serve me!"

"Ah, what? I don't ...."

"Don't make excuses! I know your period's over!"

The sun had just set, and the heated battle had just ended since thirty minutes ago. Vyschella fell asleep in Kleiner's arms, while the man had just opened his eyes and woke up from the alcohol. Kleiner fumbled for his smartphone and immediately typed a text message for Oscar.

Kleiner : Where are you?

Kleiner massaged his forehead because of the intense headache.

"Quickly give me offspring so that I don't have to squirm to find an excuse to answer the nagging old man's question, Cia!"

Kleiner lowered his voicehoping that Vyschella wouldn't be distracted by his chatter. He reached for his smartphone because the sound of it vibrating made him startle.

Oscar : Are you awake, Sir? I'm gonna your room now with porridge and hangover.

Kleiner : Bring Cia dinner too!

Kleiner typed a quick reply to his assistant, then put the smartphone back where it belonged.

"Sleep a little longer, Cia! Because dinner is coming soon."

After kissing his wife's forehead for a while, Kleiner got out of bed and headed for the sink. He washed his face and waited for the assistant to come.

The dinner atmosphere in the main mansion of the Stonevrustarios family was hushed. No one spoke a word.

"Didn't the newly-weds have dinner here?"

Ackerley spoke up. He's been feeling lonely lately. That's why, he asked Kleiner and Vyschella to give him a great-grandson!

Instead of answering, Daisy and Alexa looked at each other. With suspicion, Ackerley asked the two of them.

"What's wrong? Do you guys know anything about 'em?"

Cough! Cough! Cough!!

Alexa choked when she finished listening to Ackerley's question.

'I wanna complain to this fussy man, but in fact, he always defends his beloved grandson in law! I really hard to impress him!' Alexa cried in her heart furiously as she stared at her food.

"Do you know, Bay? Alexa and I have just been humiliated by your favorite granddaughter-in-law!"

Daisy put down her cutlery in a huff. She looked at her husband in hopes of getting support.

"What's wrong? My grandson-in-law can't possibly cause trouble for no reason!"

'Damn! Grandma Daisy hasn't said anything yet, but the old man has already defended the lowly woman from the poor Demougust family!' Alexa exclaimed in her heart as she stirred the cream soup in front of her.

"Look at Alexa, Honey! She's even stirring her porridge! Something she's never done in her life."

As planned, both Daisy and Alexa agree to draw sympathy from Ackerley. They played such a role that Vyschella lost the trust of the great master of the Stonevrustarios family.

"Alexa, what's wrong?"

Ackerley rebuked Alexa, who looked lethargic and had no appetite at all. Not only Ackerley who was curious about Alexa's behavior, Lorainne and Ansell were also the same.

"Christmas is just around the corner, isn't it?"

Daisy didn't keep her mouth shut, either. She kept saying nonsense about Vyschella.

"What's with Christmas?"

Ackerley made him even more curious. He tried to stay calm while enjoying his dinner.

"Kleiner gave that lowly woman many gifts!"

Cough! Cough! Cough!

Lorainne was shocked to the point of choking. She hastily took a glass of water in front of her.

"Eat slowly, Lora!"

Ansell gently rubbed his wife's back. He didn't want his wife to be influenced by the words of the two snake-headed women in the Stonevrustarios family.

Loraine smiled sweetly. She nodded and said, "Thank you, Ansell."

Ackerley put down his cutlery. After drinking mineral water, he cleaned his mouth with a white napkin.

"Linn, is there something wrong with all that?"

Ackerley gave his wife a strange look. 'Had I wrongly chosen this greedy woman to be the Lady of the Stonevrustarios family? She turned into a woman I didn't recognize!' Ackerley thought.

"Is it wrong, if a husband gives a gift to his wife?"

"But, Honey, it's not what you think! The gifts are plentiful, luxurious and of course costly!"

Bang!

Ackerley pounded the table. The look in his eyes frightened anyone, who looked at him. All pairs of eyes in the dining room of the Stonevrustarios family were shocked and lowered their eyes.
