Chapter 47 - Pressure

A man in a black suit without a single hair sits in a famous coffee shop located on Broad Street, Birmingham, UK. He sat alone with a gloomy face. Sometimes, the man looks at his smartphone which is placed next to the cup of Cappuccino coffee he ordered.

"Where's that damn daughter?! It's already been 5 minutes and she still nowhere to be seen!"

Drake glanced at his watch which showed 5 minutes past one local time. He gritted his teeth as he stared at the scenery outside the tavern, hoping that the one he had been waiting for would come.

Tuck! Tuck! Tuck!

Drake tapped on the table with his right forefinger. His face looked worried.

"What if Cia doesn't come? Where should I find the money to pay off all the debts?"

Drake sent a message to his lovely daughter ーVillearisa Cyra Demougust, who is now in the land of windmills, Netherlands.

Drake: Sweetheart, looks like the damn daughter isn't coming!

Drake put his smartphone back down. He waited for a reply from Villearisa. Without waiting for a long time, his smartphone vibrated.

Villearisa : So, let's do the plan B, Dad!

Without hesitation, Drake agreed to his lovely daughter's suggestion. He immediately typed a message in reply to Villearisa.

Drake: OK. See you later, Sweetheart!

Drake finished his coffee. He was still waiting furiously for Vyschella's arrival.

"If in the next 10 minutes Cia doesn't come, I'll settle accounts with her!"

Vyschella sat on the balcony of her room alone with a blank look. She leaned back and occasionally took a deep breath.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

On the table next to Vyschella's seat, her US-made smartphone vibrated. She seemed reluctant to reach for it.

"Umph! I know, it must be Daddy!"

Vyschella pursed her lips while smoothing the strand of hair covering her right eye.

"Umph! How about this, Grandma? I can't let you be tormented, and I also won't let Daddy do other sneaky things to you, Grandma!"

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Vyschella's smartphone vibrates again. She glanced at the tiny object doubtfully.

"What should I do?"

Finally, Vyschella decided to grab her smartphone which had been vibrating. She stared at the screen of her smartphone worriedly.

"Dad ...."

With both hands shaking, Vyschella held smartphone while not stopping to stare at her father's name on it.

"Answer or no incoming call from Dad? This isn't a good sign!"

After 5 minutes, Drake texted Vyschella. Same message as before.

Drake: Are you tired of living? Or are you deliberately testing my patience?

Two question sent by Drake to Vyschella, of course made the woman nervous. Yes, Vyschella felt a terrible fright.

Drake: Apparently you've dared to oppose me! Please accept my incoming phone call, Cia!

Vyschella dropped her smartphone on the floor. Her head felt heavy. Her body trembling. She tried to get up and took her smartphone back.

"I don't know, why Papa doesn't stop pressuring me?! He even knows that I'm just a substitute bride for Cyra!"

Just as Vyschella grabbed her dropped smartphone, now Drake called her again for the umpteenth time.

"God, what should I tell him?"

Vyschella bit her lower lip to get rid of the anxiety that had been attacking her. She was worried because Drake kept calling her.

"Heーhello, Dad?"

Vyschella's voice was weak. She didn't dare say much to Drake.

"Where have you been?! Damn daughter, why can't you appreciate the parents, who went to great lengths to raise you?! Huh?!"

'Dad called me as damn daughter?! Am I really jinxing 'em?!' asked Vyschella to herself.

"Raーraised me? Didn't all this time you guys didn't consider me?"

Don't know where to get the courage, Vyschella was able to reply to the harsh words that came out of the mouth of her father.

"Shut up, Cia! If it weren't for Cyra, you wouldn't be in the position of Mistress of the Stonevrustarios family, get it?!"

"Huh ...."

Vyschella took a deep breath. She closed her eyes for a moment while thinking what words were appropriate to reply to her father's words.

"Have you forgotten that you forced me to sign the agreement? If you think that I want this position ... you're wrong, Dad!"

"Vyschella Ciara Demougust, don't argue with me! Because I won't hesitate to stop your sick grandma's medication!"

'Dad always threatens me by using Grandma! I can't do anything apart from comply with his will!' Vyschella regretted in her heart.

"You must know that your grandma's medical expenses aren't cheap?!"

Vyschella refrained from replying to Drake's words, which always hurt her. But if left alone, will Drake put more pressure on her?

"Bring a hundred million pounds in two days to the place I've appointed!"

'God! Dad still wants the money!' screamed Vyschella's heart.

"Don't you know that I don't work any more? Dad, you're barking up the wrong tree!"

"Don't talk to each other, Cia! You've a billionaire husband, take advantage of him!"

Vyschella's eyebrows knit together. Her face flushed and her lips trembled.

"But, Dad ...."

"I don't wanna say fail for the second time. Do you get it?"

"I'm not good at expressing intentions to him, Dad!"

Vyschella was messed up. She didn't know, how else to face her father! She tried to resist Drake's wishes.

"Don't be a fool, Cia! You're entitled to the Kleiner fortune! Yes, that's right! You're entitled to the Stonevrustarios family fortune!"

'God! Is what his mind only treasure? When will he care about my feelings? Oh, no! They don't even acknowledge my presence, do they?' thought Vyschella. Without realizing it, the tears started falling.

"Tell Kleiner that I'm asking him for a hundred million pounds of financial assistance! And, deliver the money in two days, or you'll have to return to the Demougust family to attend to your Grandma's body!"

'Oh, my gosh! Is there nothing else on your head, besides money?!' cried Vyschella inside. She was disappointed. Because according to her, Drake does not deserve to be called the head of the family.

"Dad, IーI can't ...."

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Oh, my God! Dad turned off the phone!"

Vyschella took a deep breath while shaking her head. She tried to control her heart also control the negative thoughts that raged.

"Aah, I better work on my leg muscles! If one day I've the chance to perform on stage again, so I'll become a great prima ballerina."

Vyschella decided to cool off by practicing ballet. She came into the bedroom and walked towards the dressing room.

"Ah, I love being here! With two large mirrors against the wall like this, it's enough for me to be in the practice room of the Royal Ballet, London."

Vyschella smiled as her mind drifted to the good times she had practicing with her fellow Royal Ballet ballerinas for a performance at Swan Lake two years ago.
