Myself and the rest of Gryffindor house marched down the corridors and the long -lasting staircases, with our heads held high, there is no way that we're going to allow Percy to control us any longer. If he wants to mess with one of us, he must mess with all of us. We're a family. I don't care if we are not all related by blood these are the people I care about. As the group of us turned a corner, I soon noticed a specific person come and stand next to me. With pride, I turned my head and lowered my gaze to the person and my eyes landed on person that meant the world to me. The one that I promised I would protect, not matter what the situation was, not matter how old he is. And that person is Harry. A wide infectious smile was plastered on his face, his eyes were full of not just happiness. But something we haven't felt for many years. And that was hope. The both of us finally found a place where we feel safe, where we actually feel protected. And most importantly, we feel loved. We may have had ups and downs when we first attended the school but that is just what makes our experience so much better. We've finally found people that like us for who we are and not just for our reputation and power. We are finally where we belong.
As we neared the Great Hall, another person came and stood next to me. The person threw their around my shoulder and I knew right away that it was Fred. I tilted my head upwards and locked eyes with Fred's.
" Now that what you did back there was badass," he informed me.
" You're not wrong about that one, Weasley." A Scottish voice said from behind us.
" Wood, are we finally getting along after all these years?" Fred asks sarcastically. Oliver side passed Fred and walked in front of us, him walking backwards.
" I believe we are. What you did back there was amazing, you know that right?" Oliver says before turning around and continued his walk to the Great Hall. Fred tightened his grip of his arm around my shoulder and brought me closer to his side. As much as I loved being in his warmth, somebody else didn't. Harry's hand shot towards mine and pulled me harshly away from Fred's embrace, with his hand still encaging mine, he dragged me away with him to the Great Hall.
" Not happening!" Harry shouts. I turn my head around and look at Fred.
" Sorry," I mouth to him. Fred puts his hands in his pockets and nods his head at me before mouthing something back at me. However, I couldn't catch what he said because Tesha and the rest of the girls barged passed him and ran towards Harry and I. Hermione and Ron following them not far behind.
" I need to tell you something," Harry whispers to me so nobody else could hear it.
" What is it?" I ask him in the same tone. Harry tightens his grip on my hand, "Can't tell you here, we can sit inside the Great Hall with Ronald and Hermione. Just make sure nobody else is around."
I nodded my head then turned towards Tesha. " Hey, Tesha. Is it alright if I don't sit with you guys this morning? Harry wants to catch up and tell me about Quidditch."
" Yeah, no worries, I'll be sitting with my little sister, Angelina Johnson, anyways. I'll let the twins and Wood know for you." Tesha says with a smile.
" Oliver sits with the twins?" I question.
" Yeah, he does. Shocker I know. They never got along but they must've got past their disagreements and became friends. I'm not complaining though, it's nice seeing the three of them get along."
" Yeah, I guess so," I tell her before walking ahead with Harry, Ron and Hermione. As we reach the Great Hall Oliver opens the doors for us. Myself and the rest of the Gryffindor house entered the hall at the same time, which caused a few people to give us questioning looks.
" Thanks, Wood." I say, this caused me to get a warm smile from him. This was properly the first time that I've called him from his surname. Harry tugged my hand and quickly moved his eyes towards the Gryffindor table. I followed his gaze and soon saw what he meant. Sat by themselves at the far corner of our house table was the one and only Percy Weasley. Percy looked up from his plate of food and looked in our direction, he lowered his eyebrows and gave me a weird look. A look full of disgust and hatred. I shrugged my shoulders and this time I dragged Harry towards our table. We sat down near the middle. Harry sat next to me on my left and Ron and Hermione sat opposite us. As soon as we were fully seated the food appeared in front of us. As I leaned forward to grab a slice of toast, Sir Nicholas's head rose from the plate of food.
" Whoa, Sir Nicholas, you scared me," I exclaimed. The ghost turned and looked at me with a smile.
" My apologies, Miss Potter. I had no intention in scaring you." Sir Nicholas says apologetically.
" No worries, Sir Nicholas. Well good morning," I respond to him.
" Good morning to you too!" The man exclaims before flying out of the plate and into the crowd of other students. Smiling to myself, I lean forward and grab the slice of toast I originally reached for and raised it to my mouth and took a bite.
" He keeps looking over," Hermione leans forward and whispers to me.
" Who?" I whisper anxiously to her. Hermione moves her head to the side and my gaze follows. Percy is sitting on the far left of the Gryffindor table by himself still, the bottom of the table is completely empty. It was as if people were too afraid to approach him. Percy's eyes stared into mine then he looks down and frowns. In the corner of my eye, I was able to catch Professor Snape staring in our direction with curiosity. I don't blame him I would be curious too. One day, all the Gryffindors are happy together. Laughing and joking with one another then the next day the full house has turned on a single person and they all are refusing to look in their direction. Professor Dumbledore catches Snape's confusion and curiosity and looks in the direction he is looking in. This causes all the other Professors to do the same thing. Percy reaches across the table and grabs his cup and distracts himself by taking a long sip of whatever is inside.
" Insane that one I'm telling you," Ron informs us as he takes another bite of his hash brown.
" That's your brother, remember?" Hermione chips in. Ron gives us all a bewildered look.
" So?" He asks with his mouth full of food. Hermione smacks his arm and Ron covers his mouth before muttering a 'Sorry' under his breath.
" So, what is it you guys have to tell me?" I turn to Harry and see he is already looking at me. Harry places down his knife and folk and clears his throat.
" So, since we have arrived, Myself, Hermione and Ron have been visiting Hagrid." He says quietly.
" You been visiting Hagrid and not brought me with you guys?!"
" Wait so you're not mad?" Ron questions me.
" Of course not, just be careful alright. You never know what could happen, if the other Professors catch you guys, you'll be in a lot of trouble. Hagrid is a nice man, he saved us Harry, I just don't want him to get into trouble for our actions"
Harry lets out a breath and reaches for his knife and folk to carry on eating. However, somehow, I knew something was wrong. His eyebrows were slightly raised and his lips were formed into a slight pout.
" But that was not what you guys wanted to tell me, was it?" I ask the three of them. Ron's head shoots up from his plate of food. Or should I say, stack of food. Ron gives Harry a look then turns his attention me.
" What is it, Ronald?" I ask him.
" Oh god, she's calling me by my actual name. Harry just tell her." Ron demands as he looks back down at his stack of food.
" Harry." Hermione says anxiously. Harry sighs then places his knife and folk back down and turns to me once more.
" The three of us was...uh." Harry stutters with his words.
" The three of you was doing what?"
" We were walking up a staircase in the Grand Staircase tower!" Ron blurts out.
" Ronald!" Harry shouts at him.
" Harry, she's going to find out at some point." Hermione defends Ron.
" She's right, I will. So, you might as well tell me now."
" As we were walking up a staircase in the Grand Staircase tower, as you know the stairs change. We had to change where we were going and find a different route. It led us to a corridor-"
" A really creepy and deserted corridor!" Ron interrupts Harry.
" We walked down the corridor and then Filch's cat came out of nowhere so we had to hide. Lucky enough, Hermione knew a spell to open locked doors. We were able to open a random door and hide from Filch and his cat." Harry continues.
" And?" I ask because I know that was not just it.
" Then we turned around and saw a weird three- headed dog sitting in front of us." Hermione adds.
" A what?!"
" Yeah, I know. Hermione saw the creature sitting on top of a trap door," Ron includes to the conversation.
" Therefore, it means it must be guarding something." Hermione says proudly, clearly happy with her analysis.
" Guarding what though?" I cross my elbows and lean forward.
" That's something we don't know just yet." Harry says. It was perfect timing because as soon as Harry finished Professor Dumbledore stared to dismiss students to go to their first lessons of the day.
" Look I'll see you guys later. Alright? Then we can try and figure out what that creature is guarding and Harry, you must tell me how Quidditch practice was," I smile to them before waving and making my way over to the girls and the twins. George is the first one to see me. He opens his arms wide and takes a few steps forward in my direction. Giggling, I shake my head and walk into his embrace. He closes his arms tightly around my body and buries his head into the crook of my neck, he then causes the both of us to sway slightly.
" Missed you," he whispers into my ear.
" You saw me not even an hour ago," I laugh.
" Exactly, that's far too long for my liking." George removes his arms from me then throws one of them around my shoulder. An action I soon became familiar with and one that I grew to love. I turn my head and see the girls talking to Fred and Oliver.
" Fred and Oliver?" I question George.
" Shocker I know, the both of them are getting along now for some weird reason and same for him and I. It's kind of nice actually."
" Iris?" A voice questions. Hesitatingly, I turn around and with no surprise the person behind me was Percy.
" That's me," I tell him.
" Look, I just wanted to say that I'm..."
" You're?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
" I'm sorry, okay!" He shouts.
" Apology accepted. Trust denied." I tell him with a smile before turning back around to George. George places his arm back around my shoulders and the both of us walk back up to the girls and Fred and Oliver. Once our group was together, we decide it would be best if we walk Oliver to his first lesson so he wasn't alone, then make our way to our lesson.
