Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 : The other half of truth revealed.

"Why don't you knock?" I asked the duchess as she entered the room with full confidence, like she own this place.

"I've called your name before entering, plus you are the one who stated we would talk at night, and didn't you say we are husband and wife, or is there something you are hiding?" She added as she walked up to me. Ah, this girl is pretty good at talking and justifying herself.

"Alright, it's fine."

"Why are you sweating?" I should definitely keep my secret from her, so I immediately responded, wiping the sweat from my forehead, "I just did some light exercise to maintain my body shape."

She agreed with what I said, nodding her head slowly up and down, "Of course, you should keep that sexy body for me," she said as she laughed.

She called me sexy like she did to the knights in the morning, which makes me feel better. However, she said more than that, stating that she wanted me to keep my body for her. I'm amazed that she would even bring that up, but I need to quickly change the subject by saying, "So I wanted to talk to you about the things you missed while you were in your coma and some upcoming event you need to prepare for."

"Yes, go ahead. I have questions for you as well. " She replied.

This sentence makes me really wonder what she will bring up to me.

How can someone work out in that suit and then sit immediately on the coach? This dude seems very suspicious. I tried to flirt with him and tell him that he needed to keep his attractive body for me so that I could find out the truth, but it didn't work and he didn't show any signs of nervousness; instead, he just switched the topic and avoided eye contact.

"Let's start with the future event; since I know you don't know anything about our family, I'll start from the beginning. So each year we celebrate the founding of this family, the Carlisle duchy, at the start of spring. However, this year it's different since you are awake. You have to take part in the celebration. It's an honor to our family and it's from generation to generation. In addition to that, you have to let people know who is the current duchess. "I have already told Leola to get you someone to teach you dancing and etiquette since you seem really lacking them, and soon they will send you someone to design the dress for you." Wow he really said it to my face I am lacking manners, but for now I am not going to argue. Instead, I will just ask him about what Auryn has missed this whole time.

"For this part, I completely understand, and I don't have any issues, but the question is, do I seem like an object to you? Why don't people know me? And how the hell did you marry someone who was in a coma? "

As I finished my sentences, he slowly leaned back while crossing his knees. After a few seconds of silence, he said, "I suppose it's time to tell you the entire story now. Since I despise lying, I'll tell you the whole truth. " I moved closer to him in expectation of hearing his version of the story.

"Everyone was after me to get married, and they were looking for the best daughter of Noble's family. I didn't have any problem with that since love makes no difference to me. But when my brother and his wife passed away, everything changed. I just became more cautious, and to avoid making the same mistake again, I decided to choose the bride myself, so no one could spy on our family. After much investigation, you were the top candidate." I got excited when he said that, but I was disappointed again when he went on saying, "You were in a coma, your family was stingy and going through bankruptcy even though they were earl and countess, but they weren't my enemy. When I told them I wanted to marry you, they said they'd agree as long as you paid us this amount of money. We both accepted that, therefore I just picked you up there after we signed the marriage documents."

Him doing all of this to just hide me, which was not what I had expected, but I had predicted that her toxic parents would do anything for money. I believe it was best for Auryn to not see what happened after she went into a coma because she would be very hurt to witness how they treated her like an object. However, I feel that I should know more details about who these people are that Amon is running away from.

"Amon, who are these people that you are hiding and fleeing from?"

"I'm not hiding myself from them; instead, I'm keeping Julian and you away since I think you have nothing to do with this problem. I'm not sure whether I can tell you who they are right now, but perhaps I will in the future when the moment is appropriate. "

"Alright, I'll respect your decision." After saying that, I turned to my left to sit up straight. At first, the silence was all over the place. Amon and I were staring at the small table in front of us with our hands crossed. Then Amon broke the silence by asking, "Are you mad at me and your parents because of the way I married you?" as he turned his head to the left to face me.

To be honest, Amon's actions at first confused me a little. However, now that he has given me the truth, I feel a little bit relieved. So I reassured him, saying, "Don't worry, I'm not angry at you, and regarding those parents, I don't have any feelings for them , since they see me as I see them: nothing."

"I see," he replied, while nodding slowly.

"Oh, I almost forgot. How about Julian? He can't be our son, right? I asked, turning to face him.

"You are smart, you got it quicker than I anticipated."

This man really underestimates me; perhaps he has an image of me as a stupid girl. I raised my eyes and remarked, "I mean, it's too obvious. How can you have a child and become pregnant while in a coma? "until I stopped and realized, "Wait, who are his parents if he is not our son?"

He approached me and whispered in my ear, "He's the son of my dead brother." At that moment, his voice really made me shiver. He then continued, "Only Daisy, Leola, Dillion, and I know, so don't let anyone discover that."

"A-alright, don't worry, I will treat him like my own son."

"That's a relief," he replied as he lay back on the sofa.

I immediately got up from the sofa because I felt the room was getting hotter after his whisper, and I decided to walk around this room to explore it. Even though he doesn't express it, he seems to have been protecting Julian and me the entire time, and now I begin to understand him.

He questioned me when I was sitting on his desk, "Do you truly want to train the knights?"

"Of course, I am so excited about that. Plus, the skills I am going to teach them are really important for quick self-defense and don't exist here, therefore they will really need them. "

"However, as knights, they are difficult to work with because they don't listen and have big egos."

" Don't worry about it; I already taught them a lesson today." I replied while smiling proudly and blinking at him.

"How did you learn that without a teacher?"

"Wow, Amon, you are really fast at doing research about people, but I am sorry this will be a secret as you have one too, so I am not going to tell you, but don't worry, I am not going to assassinate you." My brother, if you were in modern times, you would just realize it's the usual Judo, but I cannot tell you since no one will believe me that I am from another universe.

"Why do you keep calling me by my name?" He asked while staring right into my eyes.

"I just prefer to address everyone by their names."

"But you know, as a noble, when you call someone by their name, it indicates you have a close relationship."

"Aren't we already married? Thus it's normal. "

"But we are not —"

I cut him immediately, saying "Without any objections, I will just call you by your name as I am comfortable with you. You can also call me by my name, which is better than my wife or my lady, because it's way too formal. "

"Comfortable, you say?"

"yes"

"I see" He replied while touching his chin.

I was doing a tour in this room while Amon was sitting on the same brown sofa. This room is incredibly neat and well-organized, and I really loved it. I enjoyed the way it was decorated, with the desk in front of the window, the bookcases behind the sofa, and the various paintings hung on the wall. The firewood is close by, and another door is just next to it. I walked right up to it and asked him, "Where does this door lead?"

"To my bedroom," he answered.

"Mmm, interesting." Once again facing him, I said, "By the way, I've decided which part of the ceremony I want to take charge of."

"Yes, tell me."

"The dance and music part"

Without giving me any time to continue talking, his eyes widened, as he quickly asked, "Why choose that part though?"

"Because it's something I enjoy," I explained, turning as if I was dancing in this blood-red gown.

He responded with a sharp tone, "No, you can't choose that; pick something else."

"Why though?" I asked as I moved to his left.

" You are still a beginner. Take charge of the meals that will be served; it's better. "

Beginner, my a$$. I am actually bigger than he thinks I am. Hell no, he totally ruined my idea of letting the orchestra play my favorite songs so I could enjoy dancing at the party. But don't worry, I have another scheme in mind; I am truly diabolical.

"All right, I understand. I must go back now." I waved my hand in a good-bye gesture and grinned as I added, "Good night." and he simply nodded without saying anything. I headed back to my room as fast as possible so I could make a new plan.
