Chapter 7 - Give Me Your Word

Marcy sat on the small stool next to the large white bathtub in the bathroom. Her right hand was clothed with foam as she let it swim around in the foamy water, her green eyes fixed on the window next to the towel hanger while her thoughts ran in different places.

Suddenly she heard the door open causing her to swiftly turn around to see who had come in only to quickly recognize him in a servant's clothing.

Her worries immediately disappeared and she rushed over to him. " Gavin", she muttered silently, embracing his huge form as if it would take all her problems away. She failed to see the anger in his eyes when he came in.

Gavin returned the hug as well. His heart calmed down upon seeing her small and petite body next to his own but the rumors he had heard and the situation on the bed made him want to know what had truly happened last night.

Gathering all his might, he pushed her away but carefully so as not to hurt her in the process. Her Jade green eyes finally looked up to his tall frame as she watched him go ahead to close the bathroom door and that was when she realized their compromising situation.

She had been so lost in thoughts from all that happened just now that she did not realize it was not safe for him to even be here with her. What if Lady Eloise or the Queen mother walked in on them?

But even before she could address the issue, she saw him turn to her with a look of distrust and indecision prompting her to wonder what was wrong?

" Marceline tell me, what happened between you and the prince last night?", he asked in a voice that she never thought she would hear in him, a voice filled with doubt. Did he truly doubt her?

" I gave you my word that nothing would happen and I kept my word Gavin, the prince and me really did not even share a bed together", she said calmly hoping he would believe her words but his eyes only remained doubtful.

She felt her heart twist from the way he was staring at her. There was this complicated feeling and she hated it to the core. " Gavin please do believe me and if it is about the rumors from this morning, I can very well assure you Gavin that it was all an act, you really have to believe me", Marcy went ahead to explain more.

She moved closer to him closing the distance between them. He sighed deeply, " I am sorry I doubted you my love, it is just that when I heard the rumors, I could no longer think straight, they had put it in a way it seemed as though the both of you were at it....", Gavin finally spoke in a strained voice before just embracing her, he really did not want to imagine her with anyone other than him, it would hurt him dearly.

" Marceline, I need you to give me your word", he said while they hugged in the most comfortable way. She really did not wish to leave his embrace, he was simply all that she had right now.

Her father was angry at her for the path she chose so he forbade her mother from ever seeing her and she could not really blame him.

" I am listening, I will always listen to you Gavin", she said not wanting to argue with him and not wanting him to be angry or doubtful towards her either.

With today being the day she would depart from Rizzan Kingdom to Arania, she wanted them to hold no grudge against each other but separate in peace.

" I know you are turning 19 soon Marceline, I also know as a young woman there are some things you desire, like the feel of being one with your partner, the desire to hold someone nearer and have someone touch you in different hidden places", Gavin said with difficulty, he knew it was wrong of him to bring up such a topic but he really needed her word.

Marcy left his embrace to stare at his eyes, her brows furrowing in the process. " What are you trying to say Gavin?", she asked in a tone that held warning, he dare not think she would be crazy enough to climb onto the Prince's bed when her heart already belongs to someone else, him obviously.

As expected she only saw her reflection in those black eyes and seeing his difficulty she calmed herself down but made sure to at least hear his side.

" My love please do not be friendly with the prince, I beg of you to give me your word that you will not be entertaining with the prince. Anger him if you must, annoy him and make him dislike you but please do not be friendly with him, it is all I ask", he said, his eyes pleading with her to not dismiss all he had said.

He knew how stubborn she could be, even he could barely tame her when she got angry, he found it really hard to get through to her during those times.

" I understand what you are saying Gavin. I know how you feel but even though you want this from me, the Prince remains Aurelia's husband, if I create such a rift between them before they even get to meet just think of what it would cause", she said knowing fully well she wouldn't be able to do what he asked.

Not only would she destroy Aurelia's future by doing this but she would also be doing something which she had never done before, turning her back away from helping someone.

" I understand where you are coming from my love and so be it but please do not entertain the prince in any other way. If you find him annoying you to the core, you do still remember your training as my student, defend yourself my love", he said as he drew her into his embrace one more time while she basked in the warmth of having him near her knowing that he would soon be gone.

He finally left with ease and she remained in the bathroom, ever grateful that he was not caught leaving her room else this would have surely caused a huge scandal.

She locked the door to the bathroom from the inside to avoid someone barging in unexpectedly, then afterwards she hastily took off her gown knowing fully well she had spend more time than needed just being in the bathroom.
