Odetta
After seeing his kingdom so bright and shining Orion was so happy that he declared a feast. The demons were happy as it has been years since they had a party in the kingdom. Everyone has been really busy with the preparations. I was in charge of the food and the decoration of the ballroom. Chairs and tables were placed for the guests. Only the invited guests and powerful demons were allowed into the ballroom for the feast. And as for the villagers, food was handed out to them and the streets and market were decorated. The ball theme colour is black and gold. The men are to wear black traditional robes, while the ladies are wearing gold traditional corset dresses. Orion was in charge of the people who were to be invited.
Speaking of my mate I have really been avoiding him and thank the lord I have an excuse to avoid him because he has been giving me weird looks. Sometimes he just looks at me like he is looking into my soul. I feel so guilty anytime I see him.
It was time for the feast. The maids helped me in dressing, I am still trying to get used to that. But anyways they bathed me and helped me in wearing my corset. After I was done with my hair and makeup it was time to head to the ballroom as the guests had arrived. Orion entered the room.
'You done? He asked.
'Yes I am' I replied, straightening my dress with my hands.
'You look lovely' he said looking at my dress.
'Thank you. You also look lovely,' I replied. And it was true his black robe is very long trailing behind him. He looked like the devil with his black hair and black clothing with his red eyes. Only the powerful demons have red eyes since he is the king his eyes are a deeper red.
'Okay let us go' I said. Then we both walk out of the room heading to the ballroom, the guards trailing behind us. We got closer and he stopped.
'Will you be okay, it is going to be a large crowd with lots of powerful people' he said and I just laughed. They should be scared of me. I am much more powerful than all of them combined. I could kll them all if I wanted to.
'Don't worry mate I will be fine' I said. He gave me that look again. He is studying me.
'Okay let us go,' I said, grabbing him. We got to the front of the ball room.
King Orion
These past few days have been different and by different I am talking about Odetta. She has changed. She has not been smiling or laughing much and I noticed a few hours after the curse was uplifted. I know something is wrong somewhere but I can't say what and she is not telling me anything. I am very worried, what could be going on exactly?
We got to the front of the ballroom. I outstretched my arm and she linked her arm with mine. It has been a long time since there has been a feast in the kingdom. Two guards came forward, opening the big wooden doors.
'Presenting king Orion and his mate and soon to be queen, Odetta!!' One of the guards screamed. And as per custom all the guests stood up and bowed except the vampire councilman. He is very stubborn. He won't ruin my mood today so I will ignore him. Odetta and I walked in together. I looked at her from my side eye. She is doing very well. She looks like a true queen with so much elegance and blank face. I really found my match. We walked to the throne and they all stood straight. I started my speech.
'Thank you all for honoring my invitation, it is known all through the kingdom's both big and small that the demon kingdom has been in darkness for two centuries. This feast is to celebrate the demon kingdom as it is no longer in darkness! This feast is also to honour my mate, Odetta, our soon to be queen. Who has brought goodness and light to my kingdom. With no further ado I declare the feast opened!' I said. There was joy and celebration all around. But mostly the demons that were jubilating.
'how did i do? I whisper to odetta.
'Like a king' she whispered back. There are lots of supernaturals that can easily hear us but there are lots of clapping and jubilations at the moment so we can whisper without being heard.
We took our seats. The maids started serving the food. I can see the vampire king and queen approaching us.
'Greetings king Orion and Odetta' king Julius said. And they bow together. Odetta and I follow suit while still seated.
'Greetings king Julius and queen Olivia' i greeted back.
'Greetings Orion you've grown so big' Olivia said smiling. I could see my mate looking very confused. We all laughed.
'Odetta, they are my good friends and allies,' I said.
'Pardon me. Well nice to meet you. Any friend of Orion is also a friend of mine,' Odetta said smiling.
'Quite a charmer. Nice to meet you Odetta i feel like we are going to be great friends' Olivia said. She is always so cheery and happy. But don't be deceived, she can really be an angry vampire.
We talked for some time Odetta warming up to Olivia. They are a very nice couple. Julius and I have been friends since forever. The vampires and demons have always been close for centuries. Except from that we are also allies. After some time Olivia started complaining that she wants to sit as she is currently pregnant.
