I woke up, took my bath, brushed my teeth and did a couple other things too. "If am gonna impress a cute guy like Lucah I need to up my outfit game" I said looking into my wardrobe. But then, I don't want to toy with him, I thought. I looked into my wardrobe using my eyes to select, "This will do", I said bringing out a pair of dark green cargo pants, a black sleeveless turtle neck and a face cap.
I wore the outfit, checking myself out in the mirror. I added a chain on the trouser, wore one on my hand and neck and then wore small hoop earrings. I applied eye liner, a little bit of blush and clear lipgloss, I combined all my perfumes, spraying it on my clothing. "Now I'm ready to go" I said looking at the mirror admiring myself, I wore my heel boots and rode to Dean's house.
"Hello?", I said getting down from my bicycle, I parked it by the side. I found his extra key in it's hiding spot, by the side of the window, i opened the door then walked in.
"Dean are you ready yet?" I yelled. "Give me thirty minutes" I heard him reply.
"Thirty minutes, haven't you showered yet?" I asked.
"No" he replied. God, what a boy he is, I said to myself as I sat on his sofa. Almost time to start heading to school yet he hasn't even showered, typical Dean, I thought.
Since he was still shower, I did a little tour round his house, looked round in every room and corner, except his of course. I've been here so many times, but still know nowhere around here, I thought still walking round.
He told me that this was his parents house, he's been living here ever since they died. For a house this is big, he must be really lonely, I thought.
I reached the back end of the house, they was a room I hadn't entered yet and I wasn't talking about Dean's. I placed my hand on the knob, all of a sudden every went blank.
...
"Momma, momma pick me up please", a little girl called out. That voice, it sounded so familiar. I couldn't quite pin point on who the voice came from or anything like that, because everywhere was so dark. Was I unconscious? Cause it's always dark in my unconscious mind.
"Go meet your father dear, momma's busy. I'm packing up for our picnic or don't you want that?" a woman asked. That voice, one I could never forget.
"Mom?", I called out.
"No I want to go for our pi-ci-nic. Dadda, dadda pick me up",the little girl said, this time I could see her.
Everything became clear, she ran to someone stretching her little hands upward. Cinnamon brown curly hair, brown eyes, "this is me thirteen years ago".
"Alright pumpkin", he said bending down to lift her up.
"Dad", I cried out but he couldn't hear me, is this my subconscious mind?. I watched as twirled and played with the little me.
"I wove you daddee", she said giggling non stop. "I love you too pumpkin" he said tickling her playfully.
"Honey, Audrey it's time to go, every thing is set", mom said coming out from somewhere with a basket in her hand.
"Yayy!",little me said jumping all about.
"calm down pumpkin", dad said with a wide smile. That smile, I could still remember it, so beautiful, felt so warm.
The scene changed all of a sudden,we were already at the park. We all were eating, when it began to drizzle. "Oh no, let's pack things up quickly, before the rain increases future",mom said stacking the plates.
"no!", little me said sounding sad. "Don't worry when we get home I'll make you your favorite dish",mom smiled while playfully pinching my cheek. "Yaaay" little me said.
The scene changed again, this time the rain was heavier, was so heavy it was hard seeing where we were headed.
The roar of the thunder echoed so loud, everyone shook while little me screamed, the thunder came along with lightening, striking down a tree.
Dad wasn't able to step on the brake on time, as the tree fell our car crashed into it causing it to summersault until it laid upside down on the road.
Everything was blur, mom and dad's eyes where closed and the rain hard stopped. Someone opened the car door, there were blue and red light flashing in the background.
I couldn't hear anything, just my ear ringing, I was pulled out. The dream stopped there, everywhere went dark again.
"Why did they only save me? What of my parents?" I asked myself. They could have been saved, tears pouring down my eyes.
"Audrey, Audrey",someone call out for me. I gasped awake, panting really hard. They should be more to that memory, was I the only one that was pulled out? It can't be, at least one of them should have survived. Dad? But he had an air bag infront of him, they both did, I thought crying non-stop.
"Audrey, are you alright?", he asked pulling my head to his chest.
"Its been over 10 years since I've had to memories and never that clear" I said.
"What memories?" he asked. "memories of the accident 14 years ago",I cried, the wound felt so fresh, felt as thou it was yesterday.
" sorry" he said stroking my head as he embraced me. "Don't cry your spoiling your make up".
He brought out a white hanky from his back pocket, then dried my eyes with it. "Dont you know you look like a troll when you cry" he said teasingly pinching my cheeks.
I laughed taking the hanky from him and cleaning my face properly. I guess not all memories can be buried away, I thought. "lets hurry, we'd be late for school" he said helping me up.
