Chapter 3 - Chapter Three “Last youthful moments”

I woke up in a room that was not my own. The bed sheets were not my normal silk white ones but silky blue ones. Not even our guest rooms had blue sheets, so I was not even in the castle.

I sat up out of bed and looked around the room, it seemed familiar but I could not quite put my finger on what. A tall dark figure came out of what I suggest would be the bathroom. Zaz walked out with just his pants on. His hair was still dripping wet, and he had his towel in hand.

I flipped over on the bed to avoid looking at him. I felt a weight on the other side of the bed. He put his hand on the back of my head and started playing with my hair. His hand was warm and I shivered at his touch.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty." He said his voice was heavier than normal. I flipped back to face him, forgetting he had no shirt on. I sat up so I could look him in the face. He looked me up and down. I looked down at myself and saw that I was wearing a different set of clothing.

"Did you change me?" I said in a loud voice covering my chest with the blanket. "So what if I did…" He said, smirking. I picked up the close thing near me which happened to be a pillow and threw it at him. I know he caught it but he pretended to be hurt by it.

"Ouch, How could you dare injure me!" He said falling back on the bed. I crawled over till I was over his face. "For real though, did you change me because you know I gotta protect my goods" He smiled with his cheeky little grin. "I didn't change you. Mrs. Donna did."

I sat down on my legs. "Thank god that woman exists, I would have murdered you if you changed me." Now it's my turn to have a cheeky grin. He sits up and stands up from the bed. I look around his room for a second time. This time I noticed how messy his room is. "Do you not have anyone to clean your room?" He turned back around and looked at me. "No, I would rather not waste their time with cleaning something that I myself can clean."

He had a serious look in his eyes. I get off the bed. The flowy white gown I am wearing stretches out into it's true form. Hanging just a little bit under my knees. "I'm going to ask Mrs.Donna for extra clothes then I have to go home." I turn towards the door. I felt Zaz grab me from behind and pull me into a tight hug. My back against his chest and his head on top of mine. I felt the friction between his beard and my hair.

"Be safe and if you ever need somewhere to hide, our castle doors are always open." He whispered. I don't know where his sudden kindness came from but I adored it. I nodded my head and he let go of me.

I opened the door and walked out. I close the door but leave a small gap, knowing that it makes Zaz angry. I do it to mess with him. I was walking down the hallway when I heard a scream.

"ZERA YOU KNOW I HATE IT WHEN YOU LEAVE THE DOOR EVEN JUST A LITTLE BIT OPEN!"

I shifted my body around, he was standing in the doorway. I laughed, then waved and ran down the hallway. Usually he would chase me and then tickle attack me but for some reason he didn't. I soon found Mrs. Donna in the dining room, She was serving breakfast to The king and queen.

I walked in still laughing from what I'd done to Zaz. "What's so funny?" An old voice laced with sass said to me. "I left Zaz's door just a crack open." I said, showing with my fingers how small the gap was. She shook her head slowly.

"Boy, what am I gonna do with you two?" She still shook her head but this time she was laughing. "I don't know but it seems like you're gonna have to deal with it forever." I said smiling. She stopped shaking her head. "I'm guessing you need an extra set of clothes?"

I sat there shocked for a moment. I had totally forgotten why I was here. "Yes, could you please grab me some. Or even my clothing from yesterday is fine." She nodded and then quickly left the room. Leaving me in the dining room with who I also forgot was there the king and queen.

They looked at me like I was a person off the street. I smoothed my hair down and hoped they would look away. After a minute they looked back at their food. I sat down at the little table in the corner and waited for Mrs. Donna to get back.

That's when you guessed it, Zaz walked it. This time with a shirt on. He gave me a joking death glare. Zaz sat down at the large table with his family and grabbed a plate with a blueberry waffle, bacon, and two hard fried eggs. My favorite breakfast.
