It's been days since I was locked in this cell. They gave me food but they gave it to me like I was a dog. I ain't no bitch. I was sitting in my cell when one of the men who brought me here walked up to the cell door. "His majesty wishes to see you."
"I don't wish to see him." His lips dipped downwards. "Lady I am trying to be kind, he told me to bring you with force if needed. I really don't wanna have to force you."
He opened the door. I stood put for a second. Should I trust him? What if he is not taking me to the King and is instead here to kill me. "Come on, I don't have all day!" He said raising his voice.
I guess dying is better than having to deal with the king. I stood up and walked out of the confinement. He smirked, "Good thing you know how to listen, because you'll definitely need it."
He turned around and started walking. "Follow." Without hesitating I trail behind him. We soon reach a room. The room was covered in red and black banners each with a bloody sword painted on the front. In the center of the room hung a golden crystal chandelier. under it was a matching throne chair.
Alister sat there, with his head tilted in the palm of his hand. While he sat with her legs crossed one over the other. He had a sinister grin. The crown on his head was tilted the opposite way. just barely staying on his head. "I brung her, your highness."
The man from the cell bowed. "Good…" As if on command the door opened. In walks a very well dressed man with short hair. His hair was dark, not black like Zaz's but like fresh mud. It was a very earthy color.
His attire was something different than the rest he wore not red and black, but yet rather shades of white and gold. The only thing black on him was the cape he had draped over his shoulders. He walked over to the king. "Zera, this is my son Ares." Alister said.
I stood my feet as if they were frozen to the floor. I quickly glued my eyes to where my frozen feet were, only sneaking looks at Ares. He was tall and broad, not like orge broad but he had thick shoulders. He had a small layer of stubble on his face. Much like peach fuzz.
Looking at him beside his father, I can see where he gets most of his features from. Evening the piercing eyes he gets from his father. I dared not look either of them in the eyes. For there glares at me were powerful enough to kill.
"Y'all are expected to get married tomorrow." Alister said getting out of the throne. I could hear his footsteps come closer till they stood right in front of me. He used his gloved hand and lifted my face. "Got it…" He whispered next to my ear.
"I..I don't want to…" I whimpered trying not to let tears flow out my eyes. "I didn't ask you if you wanted to…" He said still held my face. He leaned close to my ear. "You will." He dropped my face and walked back to the throne chair.
"Preparation starts now. Your dress is in your room. I will handle everything else." He then clapped his hands and the man from earlier came back in. "Follow me, my lady." He walked out the doors and back into the hallway.
I stood frozen but soon started moving my feet. I had to chase after the man being so far behind him. He brought me down one of the only hallways I have learnt since my capturement.
I spoke up but what came out was unexpected. "With little guards to protect me, how do they expect me not to escape." I covered my mouth with my hand. I heard a snicker. "Well my lady, what you don't know is that I am the best knight there is in this kingdom." The man in front of me said.
"I'm sorry, I don't believe I caught your name." He turned around causing me to bump into him. He was like a huge wall. "Calix Fairfox, at your service." Calix turned back around and continued down the hallway. I followed behind, Calix was different from the rest of the humans.
He may look like a brute with all the tattoos down his arms and the large piercing in his eyebrow, but he was the only human who had been nice to me since I got here. Then again I haven't even really met my supposed soon to be husband.
