Angel's POV
'Where are we' I asked Elina and Alina because all I could see was pitch black. Nothing.
'Girlfriend, you are in a comatose state' Eli said nonchalantly.
'Damn, that shit is bad' I said in a low tone.
'Yeah, it is, Ali and Eli said unison.
In the pitch black room, I saw a bright light shining from the right corner, and I ran towards it with all my might even when I was dragged back by an unspeakable force. I pushed forward towards the light, the closer I got to the light the brighter it got and the more voices I could hear but I couldn't figure out whose voice it was. Soon I think I disappeared into the bright light. Then I felt myself wake up.
"Umm, what happened" I said groggily. I felt like I had been run over by a super truck if there is anything like that. I opened my eyes wide but quickly closed it back because how bright the light was. I opened my eyes again but slowly this time, I looked to my right and saw Jace looking worried but relieved at this time. He kept looking at him to check if anything was anything.
"Hey sunshine, are you okay" Jason asked as he placed a kiss in my forehead softly. I looked at him and gave him a weak smile. I turned my head to the left and heard a crack because my head was stiff and I groaned in relief.
"I'm fine, just aching a little" I said in a hoarse voice. I coughed a little and cleared my throat.
"Okay baby, don't move too much. Let me mind link the pack doctor real quick" he said as his eyes glazed over. Less than a minute later, he looked back at me with worried eyes.
"Do you need anything" he asked rubbing my hand softly while brushing my hair away from my face with his fingers.
"Can I have some water please" I said quietly.
"Sure thing love" he said as he got up from the chair he was sitting on, leaving my hand in the process and went over to the table and poured me some water.
"Here you go" he said helping me sit up and handed the water over to me which I drank hurriedly because I was really thirsty.
"Thanks" I said with a smile after I had finished and handed him the glass, which he kept on the table beside me and sat down on the chair again.
I heard the door to my hospital room and a sexy young man in a white coat entered the room and shut the door behind him softly. I'm guessing he is my doctor but man he is so hot. I licked my lips slowing while thinking about how his lips would taste. He could play doctor and I would play stubborn patient. We are already in position, we just need to ignite the fire.
I was so caught up in my thoughts while staring at the doctor until I heard a growl which made me snap out of my daze. I looked to Jason to see him fuming in anger like he was about to rip the doctor's head off. The poor doctor looked awkward and scared of the young fuming alpha. Well he ruined my chance with my hot doctor. Bummer.
"Hey, chill will you" I said rubbing his arm softly with a small smiling my face, shaking my head. This man hasn't realized that I'm a bit unhinged. Poor thing.
"I could come back another time if you want, Alpha" The pack doctor said shakily looking like he was about to wet his pants which almost made me laugh out loud because Jace was harmless at least to me.
"It's okay. You can examine her" Jace said after calming down. He took a few steps back to give the doctor some space to do his work.
After much touching, poking and almost blinding me with his torch. He turned to Jason instead of me and told him that I was fine then Jace dismissed him.
30 minutes later….
I heard the door burst open and I saw my Mom run into the room with tears filled eyes and instantly my eyes was instantly filled with tears too. I have missed my Mom so much. I missed our girls night out. I gave her a soft smile. Jason excused himself from the room to give my Mom and I some privacy.
"Oh my baby girl, you are finally awake. How are you? Are you in any pain? Has the doctor come to check on you? Should I call him? You know what, I will call him" she said hurriedly turning to leave.
"Mommy, am fine. The doctor has checked on me and he said was fine. I missed you so much" I said before she had the chance to leave. She took a seat beside me and held my hand.
"Why did you let her best you up like that" Mom said in a low tone with a frown on her face.
"You told me not to get in trouble and she me off guard, I wasn't expecting the hit, I didn't know she planned on picking a fight with me if not I would have fought back, we both know I won't be the one in the hospital room. I can't wait to get my hands on that bitch" I said in a promising tone because goddess knows I will do it. I looked at my mom knowingly with a devious smirk playing on my lips.
"Next time, don't fail to retaliate but please don't kill her. And don't lose control" Mom said with a smirk on her lips.
"So, what's going on between you and the young Alpha" Mom asked curiously with a serious expression on her face.
"Nothing. Although I like him a little bit. That's the reason that bitch beat me up in the first place. I might just date him until he finds his mate you know" I said nonchalantly.
"Okay, just be careful and don't get into any trouble. Oh before I forget, Ryker struck again" Mom said in a low voice with a deep frown plastered on her face.
I sat up immediately my heart racing a little bit. I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down. And it helped to an extent.
"Where did you attack this time" I asked in a sad tone.
"Europe, somewhere around France. There was a lot of casualties but the Alpha King is trying to work on it but it is obvious he doesn't know what to or what is really going on. I mean he should have stopped him a long time ago" Mom whispered releasing a tired sigh.
"I know Mom but we all know Ryker won't stop until he gets what he wants" I said tiredly.
"I will be going to Europe next week to see what I can find" Mom said running her fingers through her hair.
After a few minutes with Mom, she left saying she had to go back to NYC. She gave me kisses all over my face before she left promising to see me soon.
Jason came back into the room after Mom left. We talked and laughed and had lunch too while watching TV which helped take my mind off the Ryker situation. Somewhere in the middle of all this, he got in bed with me so that my back was resting on him which was so cozy. This is the best position ever, I swear.
1 hour later........
I heard the door open which made my eyes snap towards it only to see Andy, Mason and Aiden walk into my room. I rolled my eyes and turned my eyes back to the movie I was watching while Jason didn't even acknowledge their presence.
"Hello lovebirds" Mason said coming to my side along with the others.
"Shut up Mason" Jason said still watching the movie. Andy skipped towards me until she got to my bedside and held my hand.
"I missed you so much Angel. I shouldn't have left you on your own" she said and pecked the side of my head.
"I missed you too babe. And it's okay, you wouldn't have known" I said turning off the movie. Jason got up and went to the bathroom.
"I missed you so much Angel more than these two" Aiden said hugging me which made me smile hugging him back. Jason came out of the bathroom and took his place behind me on the bed and turned the TV back on. We spent the rest of the afternoon with the crew eating, cracking jokes and watching movies.
Morning......….
I woke up in the morning without Jason by my side, only a stack of clothes neatly folded with a letter on it. I unfolded the letter and read its contents.
'Get dressed, I went to get breakfast.
See you in a few minutes.
Love Jason.'
I took the clothes and went into the bathroom, had a quick shower and dressed up. When I was done, I got out of the bathroom and saw Jason sitting on the bed looking hot with a tray beside him and we had breakfast together.
Hours later......
It's been a few hours and it was finally time to go home. Dr. Louis had done his final examination on me and said I was good to go. I was packing my things and stuffing them into my gym bag that Jason brought earlier today. While I was busy packing, Jason was busy with his phone doing God knows what.
When I was through with packing, I went to inform Jason that I was ready to go. I placed my hand on his washboard abs which immediately drew his attention from his phone to me.
"I'm ready" I said quietly running my hand down his body. I slipped my hand under his shirt and touched him, as soon as, I did I felt tiny sparks run through me, which shocked me to the core while Jason had his jaw clenched tight. I gently run hand up and down his bare body.
Suddenly, I snapped out of my trance, I quickly withdrew my hand from his body and stepped away from him, running my hand threw my hair while taking a deep breath. Jason got up, picked up my gym bag and we walked out of the hospital with a growing tension between us.
Three Hours Later......
It was 7pm when we finally got home which was because we stopped for lunch which consisted of tacos and iced tea and hung out at the park. We walked into the house which was pitch black.
"Turn on the lights. The switch is a little to the left" I said taking small steps into the house while Jason was busy with the light switch.
"It's not working. I think there is something wrong with the lights" he said leading me up the stairs to my room which was weird seeing as it is my house.
When got to my room, I took my phone and turned on the torchlight. We could see perfectly fine because we are wolves but I didn't like the darkness at all. I placed my phone on my night stand, I looked at my bed and saw a shopping bag. I picked up the bag, dipped my hand in and pulled out a dress from inside and it was beautiful. I held the dress to my body and looked down at it.
"It's beautiful. Jason, did you do this" I said turning around to look at him.
"Yes I did. I'm taking you out to dinner for your birthday. It's the least I could do seeing as you couldn't plan your birthday because if what happened. Now get dressed while I try to fix the lights" he said
"The fight wasn't your fault. But thank you, it means a lot" I said smiling. He smiled back and walked out of the room to get the lights fixed.
I quickly took a shower, washed my hair and brushed my teeth. I moisturized my body and went about my skincare routine and I slipped on a pair of black lace pants. I dried my hair as much as I could with my towel and brushed it out and then put on some makeup as best as I could. Then I slipped on the dress; it was a thigh-length orange dress with a slit at the side and I paired with some gold strappy heels. I walked down the stairs with my phone torch on search of Jason.
"Jace, where are you" I called out taking careful steps down the stairs while going through my Instagram but was met with silence which was odd seeing as the circuit box is in basement.
Suddenly, bright lights filled the room almost blinding me and a loud 'happy birthday' coming from the crowd in front of me. I let out a gasp of surprise with happiness and excitement bubbling inside me.
"Thank you so much guys" I said with a big smile on my face.
I quickly sighted Jason, Andy, Aiden and Mason in the crowd which made me take hurried steps towards them while greeting some people on the way. When I stood in front of them, I noticed that Jason already changed his clothes. In excitement and joy, I pulled them in for a group hug.
"Thank you so much guys. I love you so much" I said tearing up a little. I quickly swiped the tiny drops so I wouldn't ruin my makeup.
"You're welcome Angel" they said in unison.
"Hit the music" Andy said in a loud voice and instantly loud music filled the room. I pulled Andy towards the stairs.
"Where are we going" Andy asked confused.
"We are going to get my hair done." I said and her eyes widen in realization. And we quickly went to my room, dried and styled my hair which took a few minutes seeing ad I was just straightening it.
Few minutes later, we were done and we went down stairs and joined the party, dancing our hearts out.
At 12:00am on dot, I felt an amazing scent hits me sending tingles all over my body, instantly I knew my mate was here.
"Andy, my mate is here. I can smell him' I said with a smile on my face.
"Go get him, babe" She said excitingly smiling widely.
I followed the scent which led to the back of the house where some of the guests were having a smoke. I kept walking towards the gathering because the scent was stronger here. Then, I met his grey eyes and I gasped because I know those eyes too well.
'Jason is our mate' I said to my wolf with half a smile on my face. Jason walked towards me, grabbed my face and placed his lips on mine softly which made me melt and my knees weaken.
"You knew all along, didn't you" I asked him after pulling away looking at his chest while using my hand to draw circles on his chest.
"Yes I did" he said stroking my cheek softly with a smile on his face.
"Why didn't you tell me" I said pouting feeling a bit sad.
"I wanted you to find out on your own. I wanted you to experience the feeling of finding your mate. To feel everything" He said pecking my lips repeating which made my sigh in happiness.
"Hey guys" Mason, Aiden and Andy said coming towards which made me smile and give Andy a tight hug. I didn't need anyone to tell that they already knew. I saw Mason point to the sky which made me look up, suddenly, I saw fireworks fill the skies which made me laugh in glee and excitement.
For the next few weeks, things were going great. Jason and I had gotten closer but not to the point of mating. I had told my Mom about Jason but she wasn't surprised because of how protective he was of me when I was in the hospital. Ryker's attacks had seized for now which was suspicious but I was enjoying these few moments of peace. I had met Jason's parents and they welcomed me with open arms into the family. To sum it up, they were lovely. I still didn't let Jason mark me and had convinced him not to introduce me to the pack as his mate during his Alpha induction ceremony which was in two weeks but he chose to ignore that conversation. I was happy for him but sad that I won't be beside him on his special day. Elina(my Angel said) had brought up the chances of me finding my Angel mate anytime soon, a conversation I chose not to dwell on right now. Little did I know, this was the calm before the storm.
