End of November
The cellphone was still lying on the floor after the call was disconnected unilaterally accompanied by a loud, suffocating cry. Abel's whole body still felt weak. The girl knelt on the floor in such great shock. Kevin is dying in the hospital due to his father's crazy actions.
Abel walked in the hospital corridor and almost ran to find the ICU room. Abel could not imagine why his father was so willing to abuse his own son into a coma. Abel had told Kevin many times that he could die at the hands of his own father. Abel's big and impatient footsteps began to weaken when he found Miss Rinda sitting in the waiting room with her face looking forward. His gaze was blank. Abel started to get closer to him.
"Miss Rinda." Abel's call.
Miss Rinda turned to Abel slowly. Once he knew that Abel was in front of him he could no longer contain his pain. Those tears, tears of sadness just flowed down Miss Rinda's pale cheeks. She burst into Abel's arms while crying uncontrollably.
Abel, who returned the hug, didn't feel like dropping his tears too. But where is the irresponsible savage man.
"He nearly took Kevin's life. He had my son dying inside." Miss Rinda chattered wildly while crying.
"I beg you to hold on, be strong. Kevin will recover, he will be fine, Kevin is a strong child. He can't possibly leave you alone." Abel rubbed Miss Rinda's back to just calm her even though she was already devastated.

Four days have passed, after Kevin was declared in a coma. Today, Rinda's aunt contacted Abel to tell him that Kevin had woken up from his long sleep. As soon as the last course was over, Abel rushed out of the classroom, impatient to meet Kevin today.
"I miss him. So much." Abel's happiness was at its peak as soon as he saw Kevin's room door.
Abel turned the doorknob down. His heart was beating very fast. The meeting this time was like meeting Kevin for the first time. I don't know she was so nervous and too happy. As soon as the door was wide open, Abel saw Miss Rinda turned to him and smiled as usual. Then there was an old doctor beside Rinda's aunt and a beautiful nurse who accompanied her.
Finally, Abel's gaze stopped at Kevin's eyes. So shady and cool. Abel smiled at him. Maybe this is the most beautiful smile Abel has ever shown for Kevin. Abel walked closer to Kevin. But Kevin just looked at Abel with a straight face, there was no smile or any expression from him.
"Kevin, thank goodness you're awake. It's like a dream, you've passed your critical period."
Abel grabbed Kevin's hand and held it tightly. He still has that straight face.
"Kevin." Repeat Abel asking for an answer because Kevin was just silent.
Kevin quickly pulled Abel's hand away from his grip. Kevin turned to look at Miss Rinda whose facial expression changed drastically. Difficult to interpret. Kevin turned back to Abel. Abel smiled awkwardly as Kevin looked at his face.
"Who are you?" Abel's heart sank. His heart beat faster. The girl was surprised not to play. What does he mean by asking who I am. He doesn't recognize me?
"Kevin.. what do you mean?" Abel grabbed Kevin's hand, but the man quickly pushed it away.
"Mom, who is she?" Kevin asked Miss Rinda for answers, his mother. Abel looked around asking for an answer. The faces here immediately turned gloomy. Everyone looks serious. Miss Rinda covered her mouth with one hand, walked closer to Abel then put her arm around the girl's shoulder. His brain is already thinking bad things.
"Maam, what's the matter? Are you guys making a joke?" Abel asked curiously. By now Abel's face was already heating up. His heart began to rest.
Abel is already messed up. Miss Rinda did not answer Abel's question. He even rushed to hug Abel while crying. Abel looked at the doctor then looked at the nurse in turn. But there was no answer there, only the faces of those who were concerned about seeing Abel. Except for Kevin who just looked at Abel with a surprised face.
"Kevin, are you kidding me?" Abel asked for sure. But Kevin didn't change his expression.
His brow furrowed, looking at the doctor as if asking for an answer. Really weird. Miss Rinda let go of her arms then quietly took Abel out of the room. Abel started to wonder again. Something must have happened to Kevin.
Miss Rinda led Abel to sit on one of the visitor chairs. The middle-aged woman looked at Abel with a sad face and eyes swollen from crying too much. Abel was anxiously waiting for what bad news would be conveyed by Miss Rinda.
"Abel, Kevin doesn't know you."
Abel still doesn't understand what miss Rinda is talking about. What do you mean Kevin doesn't know me? I've known him for four years how could Kevin not know me.
"It means?" Miss Rinda sobbed again but soon she wiped her tears, then looked at Abel with a concerned expression.
"He's lost part of his memory. Including not knowing you. According to the doctor, he's been diagnosed with retrograde amnesia." Abel was like being electrocuted by thousands of volts when Miss Rinda finished her sentence.
This was the most shocking news among the bad news the girl had ever heard.
"But don't worry Bel. According to the doctor, Kevin will remember him soon. He'll be fine soon." Now it was Abel's turn to tear up. His heart was shaking violently. Kevin's amnesia and why it's Abel that he doesn't remember.
Abel's soul was about to soar far into the sky. Everyone who experienced an incident like that girl would definitely be instantly shaken.
"Can you explain what retrograde amnesia is?" Abel asked quietly.
Miss Rinda wet her lips before she could answer.
"the doctor said, Kevin's condition can't remember his past. Part of his brain memory is missing." Obviously Miss Rinda.
Abel exhaled. Then he combed his hair back between his fingers. What Kevin experienced really could not enter into his brain.
"So, in essence, Kevin doesn't remember me?"
"He feels that he is still in Senior high school." Abel's eyes narrowed.
"So.. How long will Kevin be like this?" Miss Rinda shook her head weakly, then squeezed her fingers.
"I don't know either. Doctors can't even tell when Kevin will recover."

Abel thought things like this only happened in movies or dramas. But believe it or not, Abel is currently experiencing something very strange. Kevin, her lover, has amnesia after being in a coma due to being abused by her biological father. Kevin has retrograde amnesia.
His memory stopped when he was 17 years old. He doesn't remember his life after the age of 17. There are parts where the memory of his brain is not functioning. But Miss Rinda assures Abel that everything will be fine. Yes, everything will be fine. Abel was sure of it.
The girl who now had her hair in a ponytail turned the doorknob of Kevin's inpatient room. Abel wasn't really sure if this would work or not. But what's wrong with trying. Who knows, a miracle will come and Kevin will remember his lover as before. Abel poked his head behind the door. Only Kevin was in bed. Seeing Kevin there, Abel's heart ached. In his mind he kept asking, why must he be the one Kevin doesn't remember. Why? Abel steadied his heart, took a deep breath and then exhaled, before he walked closer to Kevin. Abel confidently pulled a chair to the side of the bed, sat there watching every curve of Kevin's face.
