"Come let's hurry" Aaron said
They took their belongings and went to place it in the drawer of their respective lockers, and hurried to join the party
The party has been taking place in the hall itself. As it was a small party.
People were scattered as the party had started. Most of them had a piece of pizza in their hands. Four or five departments were there.
A table were filled with different kinds of pizza, along with side drinks, different kind of bread, salads, dressing and desserts like cheesecake, icecream.
Evelyn went and took the slice of pizza of different flavours, a coke and some salads.
''Eve, here'' she heard someone calling her name. As she looked around it was her coworker Ellen who was waving her hands for gesturing her to join them.
She went and joined Ellen, along with some other friends including Joan, they were all chit chatting.
"We didn't see you at lunch?" One of them asked
"A little busy" she replied as Aaron joined them
Soon the talks went into different topics. About how their work was today and different inside jokes that had happened. Laugh erupted.
One of the coworkers, Georgie along with her two friends
"Can I join?" she asked. Everyone looked at each other as if they knew why she wanted to join them.
Without getting an answer she just joined them. Everyone became uncomfortable by her presence.
"Ellen and Joan, i heard you both are dating" Georgie asked
"Yes, we are dating" Ellen replied
"What About you Evelyn" Georgie asked
"Aren't you dating anyone?" tension started to build up in the room
"No" she replied
"No… arent you still over him?" Georgie asked. They had a history with each other. Whenever georgie would get a chance she would pick on Evelyn
She chuckled "Why are you afraid that if am not over yet, i would steal him from you" she said earning some chuckles.
Georgie face turned flushed showing her embarrassment and anger
"Guys, you know what, whenever she meets him, she always uses her tactics on him. Try to seduce him"
"I am not even trying, aren't you just insecure" Eve backfired
"Why.." before she would say something Evelyn continued
"I am not even doing anything and you are saying I am seducing him. What if i do something, are you afraid that he will ditch you" she said with a mocking smile
"Everybody here knows what kind of women you are, a women who will open her legs for anyone" Georgie insulted eve
"So what, you have any problem" Eve backfired. Everyone was doing their best to hide their smile.
"You bitch,"
"Woah say it again… it sound nice to hear" eve said clapping her hand in excitement
Before Georgie would continue Aaron interrupted
"Lets take a toss on our beautiful Georgie who discover the new star" Aaron said tossing his glass
All of them took their glass and tossed celebrating.
"Congratulation" Evelyn said to Georgia with a small smile.
I am leaving" after sometime Evelyn informed
You will be ok alone" Aaron asked
"I am not a small kid, I can manage myself" eve said as Aaron shaking his head
Ron and Eve lived next door to each other. Most times they leave together. But now Evelyn just wanted to leave as she was too tired and wanted a good shower to clear her thoughts.
She was tired of Georgia. She always does it. It was as if she was the one in fault.
But Evelyn was not a sweet or nice girl that would just sit in silence while people made fun of her. She can stand for herself without any fear. Her tongue was just enough to show people their place.
She was known for her being badass. From her character to look she is like a gothic woman. Mysterious, complex, dark.
