Chapter 37 - Flirting with the Bad Boy (c)

He climbed quickly and deftly. One hand grabbed my balcony ledge, then his body swung up and jumped up, stomping his feet on my balcony floor with a straight face as if he hadn't done anything wrong to me.

"I told you, I always get what I want, Dope-nee." He tilted his head to one side. I just realized that his crooked smile is a bit like Marcel's slanted smile. And another part of me says his gaze on me is so sexy, just like this afternoon. "And you, among them."

"Why the hell do you want me so bad?" My eyeballs rolled upwards, groaning in frustration.

He paused for a moment, staring at me intensely. Finally, he opened his mouth and said, "Because you owe me an apology." He raised his hand in the air, ignoring my idiotic look at the four words that escaped his lips. "And the person who owes me an apology must do what I want." His hands were lowered roughly, patting his thighs. "Including you, Darling."

It felt like someone deliberately threw a rock right in my face. I stood frozen where I was, at a loss for words, and blinked just to wake myself up, making sure that this was the real world, not my wild imagination.

I think he needs mental therapy.

Justin gave a short laugh to find my horror expression like this. But, he was wrong if I was afraid of his threat—which seemed subtle. This is Jackie's house, mine too—theoretically, since I've been adopted as her daughter, I'm a stepdaughter. No one has the right here except the residents of this house. If he dares to threaten me in this territory, he's wrong.

"I can drag you out of here," I said smugly, turning my hips and holding my chin high.

Justin rubbed his nose. He took a deep breath, looking like he didn't understand what I was saying. "No. I will go to your stepmother myself."

My nose scrunched up in surprise. Before this, I'd met so many shallow guys, I can't believe there's still any shallower than my friends in Florida. My eyes narrowed skeptically at him. Looks like he really needs to be taught a lesson. Calm down, Daph, he's just being calm. He could be scared to death in his heart. Or ... he could also act sweet in front of Jackie later.
