Chereads / Seven Layers of Hell / Chapter 4 - The Green Waters Lake

Chapter 4 - The Green Waters Lake

Likewise, Nirwana, which consists of seven layers of the sky to get to its core, which is at the top, seventh heaven, Yamani is in the opposite part, namely in the first part, in the deepest and lowest layer of soil. Each layer has a distinct atmosphere and life. In Nirwana, all parts of the sky get the same sunlight even though they have different atmospheres. Usually, the closer that part of the sky is to the top of the main sky layer, the conditions inside that layer will feel cooler and calmer.

While in Yamani itself, in the top four sections of L-07 to L-04, all the inhabitants of the land can still enjoy the sun with the same atmosphere, just as on Earth that The Queen has created. There were still clouds covering their sky, with each layer of land the size of an island for them to step on. The lower you go, the more the sunlight will disappear, replaced by fog, or dense darkness that only some types of eyes can live with.

Not all creatures can afford to live in sections L-03 all the way to the bottom, L-01, where the Queen's castle is located.

Most of the creatures that live in L-07 to L-04 have different characteristics and activities according to the function of the layer of soil that was created. For example, in section L-05, the land which is said to be the location of the entertainment center in Yamani, has a unique shape because of the function of the area that is used as an entertainment venue. The area is filled with many small islands that float in the air.

Each small floating island represents a specific place of entertainment, whether it's a swimming pool, mountains, a playground, or the world in a video game. The very front facing the dimensional portal, where they entered and exited from one soil layer to another, was a pine forest directly facing the coast, and on the opposite side was a mountain range.

All creatures that enter are usually immediately greeted by the fairies and purple fireflies. Some creatures can sometimes fly directly to visit every island at the top of the beach, while creatures that can't fly, such as the giant races, they will pass through prairie paths and dimensional portals to get to other floating islands. The center of Yamani's beauty in the layers of soil that can still be reached by the sun is in this region, in the fifth layer of soil.

In the past, when Putra first arrived in Yamani, he found out that not all wrena had special powers. Each resident in the Yamani layer of soil can normally fly, remove horns from their bodies, or have a variety of eye colors. However, not all of them have specific powers like the Candrasas members. Therefore, not all residents of Yamani can reach or live in the third layer of soil and below. He began to realize that maybe special training was needed to generate strength native to Wrena, and not all creatures could do that.

If he wasn't a member of the Pillars; one of Berawa's elite members, it might also be hard for him to awaken the wrena's power.

But unfortunately, social inequality in this world feels so annoying to Putra. Even if the difference in natural strength between the commoners and humans wasn't that great, they still thought that humans were the lowest race who didn't deserve normal things in their land. Those easily injured creatures had to work many times over in order to enjoy what was considered normal for the wrena race, the natives of that subsoil.

He realized that when he first arrived at the fifth layer of soil, Putra had no idea that such a beautiful place also existed in Yamani. For a moment, his amazement at the amusement center made him forget that he was in the enemy's base, to the point where he realized that ... humans were not there at all.

He didn't find a single human there at all. Much different from L-07, which is filled by the majority of humans from Nusantara, and L-06, which also contains all creatures universally even though the majority of humans are chained like pets, in L-05 ... he couldn't find a single human at all.

When one is in Yamani as a human, the possibility of being free as a whole being is nil. Because they don't think that humans are equal to them, those creatures think that humans are deep under their feet.

For them, humans are only limited to animals that can be used as food. Nothing more, and nothing less than that.

Putra realized this made him feel very sick, but at the same time, he couldn't do anything because now he was a fugitive who was wanted by all creatures on this land.

For a year, Putra had been exploring all parts of L-05 as a safe haven for him. One of them is Green Waters, a lake that never knows night because of its light that never fades from the thin sky overhead.

A place where eyeless sirens live.

Green Waters is on a floating island that is quite far from the L-05 dimension portal. He had to pass a mountain and a bowling alley first to get to Green Waters, a lake that never knew the night, and was visited by the majority of sirens from all walks of life.

He had always used that place as a hiding place when he was being chased by the enemy, and so far … he had always managed to get rid of his tracks.

Just like what happened today. Right after he managed to escape from the auction house, Putra made it to L-05 without feeling followed. He plunged into the lake that had green water, blending with the creatures that were swimming in the place, including the sirens.

All the sirens there have no eyes; they can't see, but they have pretty good hearing. The weakness of the sirens helped Putra because it would be easy for him to notice when someone was watching him because all creatures in the water did not have the same ability to catch him.

He could always feel safe in these waters because the sirens were never really aware of his whereabouts unless he was doing suspicious things.

"This place is indeed suitable for hiding because it has a calm atmosphere and doesn't have many eyes that like to pay attention to the commotion." The sound of reprimand from someone on the edge of the lake made Putra suddenly bring his face to the surface of the water. "However, as you know, their sharp hearing allows all creatures here to hear all our conversations."

"What the?!"

Clarisa raised one hand, showing a map with a red dot flashing on the palm, making Putra realize that he was tagged. He looked all over his body until he finally noticed that a red, twinkling dot was stuck to the end of the hair on his arm.

Quickly, he immediately pulled and was about to pluck the red dot on the tip of his hair, but the point didn't disappear at all, even after he managed to pull out a hair on his hand.

Clarissa chuckled, seeing that, "No, it will continue to stick to that place even if you cut your hand off. Everything that has come into contact with my hand and received a sign from me will not be able to get away just like that, unless the owner of the mark is dead."

"You're a dumbass, Putra." He cursed himself subconsciously after hearing Clarissa's thin explanation. He then raised his head and looked at the girl sitting at the end of the bridge by the lake with a suspicious look. "Did you want to catch me?"

"No," she said quickly.

"Ridiculous answer," Putra sneered, making Clarissa laugh.

"You know Dirga, don't you?" She asked him seriously after being satisfied with laughing at Putra's answer. Again, she unconsciously spoke too honestly to the figure in front of her.

Putra remained silent. For various reasons, he didn't expect that the girl in front of him would ask about a person he hadn't seen in a long time. "You... Who exactly are you?"

"Clarissa Uta, a senior journalist who works on the 3.5 soil layer," she replied simply.

"Senior? Ah ... I see," he thought, finally realizing why Clarissa could easily recognize him and the people around him.

"I already gave you information about myself, now… can you give me information about yourself too?"

"I never agreed to share information."

"So it's true that Dirga is your friend?"

"Why is this horned creature so good at drawing conclusions?!" thought Putra in annoyance without realizing it.

"Listen," Clarissa mumbled quietly. She even tried to control her emotions so as not to rush her crushes, knowing they could leave again, like what happened to Arta and Jane. She can't be careless anymore. "I really wasn't after you. I met Arta and accidentally found Jane. But I didn't catch them because I wasn't after them, so are you."

Putra couldn't open his voice at all. Hearing Arta's name being mentioned by her made his curiosity peak a little because he couldn't find Arta at all long ago. However, once again, Putra realized that he should not trust the creatures that live in this layered land.

"Then if I know you're aiming for Dirga, do you think I'll share my information about him with you?" asked Putra back in the end.

Clarissa sighed before speaking again. She was really bad at negotiating, and she hated it. "I don't care about the fugitive gift, I just want to meet Dirga and talk to him."

"And... do you think I would believe it?"

"Okay, whatever!" annoyed Clarissa, thinking subconsciously. "I knew Dirga before you even met him. I was one of the people who almost became Candrasa's subordinate. I was in the same generation as Dirga, and there is one thing I want to ask him. Is this explanation still not enough for you?" She said at length, trying to make Putra trust her more so that she could extract some important information from him.

"All creatures on this land can make up stories like that," replied Putra, not wanting to lose. "Besides, Dirga is from here. There's no way you don't recognize the figure who was once a subordinate of the Candrasas."

Clarissa inhaled again slowly and exhaled it to control her own emotions, "Okay. What should I do to get you to share information about Dirga with me?"
